i am an active kyokushin practicioner myself and i want to make one thing clear: kyokushin karate is a sport-oriented style unlike goju-ryu karate or the old okinawa karate, thus not designed to necessarily kill someone.

Among many people, dojos etc the emphasis has certainly been placed on the sport aspect of Kyokushin. But if you are a kyokushin practioner you can't honestly say it is a "sport" martial art. It wasn't created for that reason and it's philosophy has always been "one hit, one kill".

@BadBlueBoy213 You really need to get to know the philosophy of Kyokushin. Some dojos might be/are sport-oriented, but that doesn't make the whole style like that, not at all. Because also kata and kihon are part of Kyokushin just as kumite, none of them you can take away or you're not training real Kyokushin.
