It's a nice sentiment. Futile but nice.

What is "America"? Is it the people? The flora and the fauna? The land we occupy? If so then its easy to say "I love America". The problem is the people that don't love THAT America? They are the ones that are running the show. The same ones who who made the English, Italian, Spanish, French, etc. citizens swallow the E.U. whole. Or do you think those folks didn't "love" their sovereign national motherland? They did, but that didn't matter.
