The Newcomers represented every disenfranchised minority to ever come to this country. I always thought they were reminiscent of the Vietnamese boat people. The humans didn't welcome the Tenctonese with open arms for the most part. The episodes were character - driven with less emphasis on gadgetry, etc.

Wow, I remember the intro with the alien ships hovering over the cities, it scared the crap out of me, it looked so real!

It also sshows no Blacks in this show hardly.
