  • The sequencer is great on this thang'! Utilizing it's many abilities can make some awesome stuff

  • just fkn wicked-i needs to get 1

  • fantastic Sound, just bought ms2000b can't wait to get my hands on it {0)

  • If you still remember I'd love to know in a bit more detail how you got this sequence. I'd like to replicate it on my MS2000B

  • @soopahsoopah Sorry, but it was improvised, Ican''t remember details... Just make two sequences (different lenght) and try playing with one of them.

  • can i trigger a dark energy with the ms2000 sequencer via midi?

  • @charliecromo No, as the sequencer doesn't send MIDI (much less CV). You should try the Dark Time instead.

  • So is this charachter of sound typical to the ms2k? Because none of the other vids that I've watched produced this kind of tone... It sounds great!

  • So is this charachter of sound typical to the ms2k? Because none of the other vids that I've watched produced this kind of tone... It sounds great!

  • @Fractaltctrl Yeah, this is one of its many tonal possibilities. There's nothing else involved (besides some youtubish compression).

  • I have a computer with daw. Getting this..Do I need something else to be able to record?

  • @Soundher0 Just an audio interface.

  • @trom69 ok thanks, is it possible to hook this up to an amp then the amp to my pc mic? I've heard this works..

  • @Soundher0 Yes, it is. It will work better if you hook it up to the LINE input. No need for an amp. Still, an audio interface is the best option, as it will improve your sound quality and latency issues.

  • @trom69 ah I see thanks!

  • this or mx1?

  • @Soundher0 nevermind...this

  • @Soundher0 This for learning synthesis, EMX-1 to make entire tracks (on the fly). Very different instruments.

  • Hi

can you transpose those sequence lines with an external midi keyboard ?

By the way: Great Sound !!

  • @dragoste747 Yes, you can. Thanks for the compliment...

  • @westcoasthaze Actually, no. It's fine for triggering sequences, drones or 'one shot' things, but not to play meldies...

  • Take a walk on Youtube neuronaluniverse.....other world...

  • Hey Trom, I've got one of these and haven't nearly started to exploit everything it can do. Is there anywhere you can recommend with some good info about how to get started with modelling synths and maybe even this one in particular?

  • almost the sirection the human league should have gone in

  • Can i sequence my nord lead with this?

  • @killtheswitch No. The sequencer doesn't send MIDI data.

  • i love the anloge sequencers so much

    thumbs for you

  • @keesvangelis Thank you.

  • This is very cool... late 70's Tangerine Dream ish sometimes....

Is it possible to program your own note values into the seqencer on the MS2000?

  • @soopahsoopah Sure it is.

  • i like it. very phat sounds! korg ms200r is still a great machine :)

  • @hofnaar Yes it is! Thanks for listening, my friend!

  • So how exactly does the sequencer on the MS2000 work? Is it similar to the sequencers on the Electribes? Can you step edit? How many tracks can you play simultaneously!?

    Thanks

  • @pmsan29 It's not really like the one on the Electribes, but can be used to similar effect.

It's a three track sequencer, up to 16 steps. Step edit is the most simple form for using it. You can assign, for exemple, one track to the note, other to the amplitude and the third to the filter.

But you can only play one sequencer per timbre.

  • check out the review on sound on sound magazine

  • full on trancy .. like it..

  • Hello trom69..

    Well one word..

    AMAZING Seqence....

I win mine yesterday as ebay:-)))))))))))))))))))))))

Ur Video was inspired me, to search and buy this amazing Gear..

    Thx for share...

    5from5*

    greetings Projekt U9

  • Thank you very much for your comments. I'm glad that it inspired you to get the gear. Enjoy it.

  • Okay so question for anyone to answer, im looking at buying my first synth and its either this, or the microkorg. I've heard that the ms2000 is much easier to program and use, but is that true? Im pretty sure i have a basic grip on how a synth works and how to use one. So which one should i get?

  • ms2000b is easier for a starter because you have all the all the parameters in front of you in each one of your knobs, you just tweek and get instant results.

With microkorg it's like you have to think a little more to program something.

The good with the ms2000b is that you can stuck with it forever,i have it since 2002 and i never get bored of it.

A lot of my works are just based on this extraordinary synth.

The bad think is that it is discontinued so you need to search a little bit.

  • If you want hard sound, go for the 2000. The Microkorg is good for a little more variety and its cheaper.

    I recommend the ms2000.

  • They say, this synth has the same, engine as my, Micro Korg, But, they sound so diffrent. iv'e gone off Roland, i had a Roland Juno G recently, it was crap, not much a synth, more a home keyboard, got rid of it. Just bought one of these waiting for it to arrive. Sounds great. Sometimes, I just like to make weired sounds, not play, and this baby, has the potential to have me twiddeling and off the streets for sometime. think i'll stick to Korg from now on. Thanks for posting, Love it.

  • Well, that's something that only you can answer: Do you need more than four voices? Are you going to make complex chords using eight fingers? Than it may be a problem...

I use it monophonicly for most of the time, so for me it's alright.

    @ TROM 69

HOW OFTEN doya use more than 4 voices

    only whit pads ....

see the ms2000 as a great mono synth cya ron ollanda

  • Great.

  • Thanks man.

  • very cool if got loads of analog equipment but

    the korg seprised me ...

that is a great tool ...espassialy when ya sequnced

  • Yeah, it has a good sequencer... very 'analogic'.

    Thanks for wacthing.

  • I have one question, I own a JP8080 and an MC505, I was thinking of buying one of these to finish of a section of my studio, but heard that the MS2000 is only a 4 voice synth, is this a serious consideration in purchasing this synth?

  • Well, that's something that only you can answer: Do you need more than four voices? Are you going to make complex chords using eight fingers? Than it may be a problem...

I use it monophonicly for most of the time, so for me it's alright.

  • heres a point for you,,, if you buy 2 ms2000 's you can link them and they will play the 8 voice poly for you , one slave one master

  • That's true.

  • Nice! I love the sound of this synth! cool video :) I love it @ 8:50

  • Thank you very much!

  • always had a soft spot for the MS2000 engine. I have never owned one but man....I would love to own the rack version like your using here. How much these racks usually cost?

  • From 300 to 500 Euros.

  • thanks companero, I really love your sound... keep create some other like that !!! (sorry for bad english)

  • I feel like I'm not quite getting this, but it seems to please the other commentators.

  • Awesome! These sounds are f***ing timeless.

  • very cool...

  • nice track...keep it up.

  • very good Sound!

  • Very nice! Spacey: michael hoenig/t. dream/etc.

  • Also sounds a bit like Hawkwind!Thanx for tips!

  • umm...sounds like early tangerine dream...

    i like it

  • Nice sounds..... If you like this check out Mark Shreeve's band called Redshift for 70's Tangerine Dream influenced music but made more recently.

  • Thanks for listening.

The only album I know from Mark Shreeve is "Legion", but from Redshift I believe I've heard everything they ever released. I like them a lot!

  • After Shreeve's album Legion his music got too commercial, 3 minute pop songs. But one CD you should get is an earlier Shreeve release called "Assassin"....if you like Redshift you'll like this cd.

Also check out a group called "Arc" featuring the duo Ian Boddy and Mark Shreeve.

  • Thanks for the suggestions. I'll check them.

  • I agree with rjb2008 rememeber a tangerine dream work. What happened with your guitar man? However, i hope you listen a amazing sound of black metal yet! :P

Bom trabalho! Senti falta de uns graves sinistros para quebrar o ritmo e dar um clima aterrorizante, mas achei que no 4 minuto ficou legal a entrada daquele efeito agudo.

    ae morah!

  • Valeu Jacks!

    \m/

  • sounds great, tangerine dream style,

  • Thanx.
