Last time I saw this movie I was twelve, I think, and it was on HBO. After that it hasn't been on TV again and can't seem to find it on Blockbuster (like always, with any movie apparently) Does anyone know where I could see this movie again? @jeremyburfield The only movie I can think of is Incidious because there is two boys in a haunted house but it turns out that one of the boys is haunted. There's quite a few ghosts in that one and there is a little boy ghost in it too wearing some sort of outfit.

@8Biohazard5 Because you actually need to be smart and have a brain to understand it, the movie is like poetry, the story is weaved so carefully ad beautifully it's like a constant metaphor. It teaches you something that cannot be merely expressed with words. If that bored you you're probably the type that likes brainless violence and explosions in a movie. Good Riddance.

The story was predictable and followed the typical Hollywood conventions and formula. And it was just another variation of the ghost seeking justice from beyond the grave. Once you figure that out there's no suspense anymore, thus no reason to watch or rewatch.

@dusk1234567890 Then you should watch it again. It is beyond that. The ghosts are just the vehicle of the story. Hint: there is a lot of focus on the Spanish Civil War and unlike most horror films this one puts great detail into characterization. Most scary movies are pure gore, dead, without a solid sense of who the people dying are. This was a brilliant film and way underrated.

Aaaah, I LOVE Guillermo Del Toro films. Although this didn't really scare me, it is still an absolute epic.

I really hate that guy who kills Santi! And all 3 of Del Tooro's films I've seen are linked. El Espinazo del Diablo is during the Spanish civil war, and is in an orphanage. El Orfenato is in an orphanage, and El Laberinto del Fauno is during the civil war.
