  • why do u call them static stretches? So long as u do them properly isn't stretchin just stretchin? Cuz i stretch before and after workouts am I not supposed to do that?

  • @GodsMafiiaMan

No, you have dynamic stretches and static stretches. Static stretches are holding stretchings, and dynamic is movement, such as leg swings and arm circles. Doing static for extended

  • @strengthproject Thank you so far but can you tell me the rest of what you were telling me about youtube lost the second half of your comment lol. ?

  • Nice video. Your arms look like you are trying to fly though. 90 degrees and moving them close to your body would help a lot! Other than that, great videos and great tutorials.

  • Can u make a plyometrics workout with boxes?

  • I have no box set plyometrics can train at home without equipment?

  • good job Arash

  • hi Arash, do you know where I can find a radioactive spider instead?

  • good vid

  • how many reps should we do?

  • I had a dream that you were a bully to me. You were so mean! I dont care if you can do flips. Dont be mean to people in their dreams! Lol

  • would really like to see you jumping over a car!

  • @strengthproject

nice arash - keeping it real as always bro! an inspiration to us all :D

  • What knee injury did you have?

  • dont stutter step, man! i saw you doing tiiiny ones at some spots when you were hopping the hurdles. other than that great tutorial

  • @ZanderTHV

Thats why I never was a long jumper lol... I ALWAYS scratched.... But these hurdles were setup randomly so I didnt have an accurate approach with the spacing between the hurdles, and it was my first high hurdle jumps in a long time.

  • @strengthproject How was the meet!?

  • Hey Arash! Short but important question:

For a higher jump, is it best to do explosive leg strength exercises (like jumps) only, or should I still incorporate slow max strength leg training (like squats) into my training? I feel like my legs are really strong, but I cant jump high, e.g release my strength quickly.

    Thanks :)

  • yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!! this shud help wit my jump spin kick in karate :D awesum dood !

  • So how high did you high jump back in your track days? and how high are you tryna jump now? ima long jumper who loves track so i am very interested to see how you fair in the track world

  • @PowerSprinter

Not great, I guess you can say ok but not high enough to want to continue at a 4 year university. i had more fun flipping not going to lie, even though i love track... Its hard balancing both. my highest 6'6" off a 5 step watch?v=gj42vxYf3Lc

  • @strengthproject man thats pretty good especially since you are in baggy shorts with a tiny runway area. that pretty legit

  • Sweet, you're bouncy man. Dunk vid? :)

  • great hops

  • Did you borrow the hurdles from the college?

  • thanks man, looking forward to the other plyo workout!!

  • This is great man.. only thing i dont understand is why the heck are birds chirping at night!?

  • thumbs up mann.

  • he watts up you guys what upp strengthproject wtf hahahaha why so fast???

  • So you're telling people how to destroy their knees as well? Great.

  • @SpecialWire

My knee injury came from the gymnastics floor, not track. But thats the risk you run for being an athlete, if your afraid then you might want to stick to a sport like golf or ping pong ;)

  • @strengthproject Okay, got it!. Keep up the good work.

  • @strengthproject No, you fool! Someone might get hurt by the ping pong ball! XD

  • @strengthproject nice videos keep making them

  • @strengthproject what kind of knee injury did you have?

  • @Carolinainmymind

I dont know, i was just tumbling fast and high on the gymnastics floor, the plywood was weak, i landed hard and boooom! knees out for months...

  • @strengthproject Hey pretty ignorant coming from you knowing that TABLE TENNIS is kind of a dangerous sport for knees and ankles

  • @MrKqlqsh

    I apologize lol

  • @SpecialWire Don't be ignorant... I would love to hear from an athlete that has never had an injury.

  • OOHHH YEAHH. A MILLION THANKS!

  • THANKS!

  • Arash, you should to a whole video on stretching especially how to stretch right before a competition because you don't want to do static stretches that much before, right?

  • Thanks for the workouts

  • can you do stefadn hurdles?? that was insane

  • @semfeesher

Stefan holms in the only person in the world who can do that! At least that clean... i have yet to see anyone else do that at that height

  • I can't do this! I can barely jump anything above my belly button! My tuck jumps are horrible too!

  • Is 4minute workouts a gimmick workout?

  • @ZenitherZen

Just by the sound of it... 4 minute workout is a turn off.

  • awesome jumper you are ! :-D

  • this is perfect for parkour precision progression! :D

  • Thank you very much! I love your videos. They are instructional and very useful. I am getting over a blown out achilles tendon and was wondering if you had any ideas for exercises / pt, that might help me get back to running etc.. sooner. Best regards.

  • Yay 4 free workout videos!

  • wish we had free track like this in jamaica.

  • yo , i was wondering do this exercises also help you in doing backflips , front flips aerials etc , i've never done flips , im 17 and im 1.79meters (sorry i dont know how much is tha in inches and i don't even know if height is necessary for flips lol) , i had an ankle problem a year ago , it still hurts though when it rains or its cold , or when the temperature is wet , so what kinds of exercises should i do to get jump height for flips ?

  • NICE!!!!

  • @strengthproject how to make arms stronger

  • Do you sell your strength project t-shirts online?

  • @strengthproject Hey can u please do a vid on dorsi flexion and plantar flexion on how to improve them? please get back to me thanks =)

  • Looking forward to the next Plyometrics vid! =)

How long do your workouts usually take, Arash?

  • Hey, them last ones don't look like they do much but they do a whole lot! lol

  • Thats good that you do most your streaching after your workout, static streaching before a power exercise has been proven too decrease power. All the mobilisation you did was spot on tho. Have you heard of PAP training post activation potentiation. Its been proven that lifting a heavy weight before a power exercise increases max power. So for example if you did 4 sets of 2 squats at say 90% of your 1 rep max then waited 5mins and then went and done your max vertical jump, you will jump higher.

  • i miss doing this

  • Me: Do you fly?

    Arash: No, jump good!

It's from this cartoon Samurai Jack if you've heard of it. hehe.

Really nice video man! Ive been wanting to get better at jumping high because I train parkour and feel like I have focused too much on the upper body lately. ( not that I feel I have any major results from it, haha )

  • Yay for Goldenwest!

  • How do I make my own hurdles?

  • Did you ever hear of or try depth jumps?

  • good vid, thanks, love your channel guys

  • Soooooooo how did you screw up your knee mate? Don't want this happen to me ;)

Tore your hammies or something (as a torn hamstring can be the reason for knee injury)?

  • where is this? nice vid though helped alot :)

  • This is good for parkour

  • Nice vid!]

    peace

  • really inspirational i think im gonna focus for some time over jumping :)

  • I got told by my physio after I suffered a basketball knee injury to make sure I land on both feet simultaneously when doing jumps, because otherwise only leg absorbs all of the landing impact instead of both, which can cause injury. I'm confused after seeing your video now what to do in regards to my pylometrics training.

    Please get back to me

  • @iHydee

Your trainer is right. But you must also take this into consideration- how high of an obstacle are you jumping over, off of, or how high are you dropping from? I would say train off of one leg with both take off and landing, but be very aware of what you are doing. There are many times that we'll land on one leg, or jump off one leg just because of the sports we do. With that being said, I would advise you to train off one leg, but limit it and listen to your body.

  • @strengthproject Thanks a bunch strenghtproject, I really appreciate you getting back to me and helping me out.

  • @strengthproject

    Can you dunk?

  • my friend i want Start but where is The first video

  • @AshehriTube

We're going to start with plyometrics soon. Stay in tune for that video. It will cover everything you need to know to get started.

  • your awesome <3

  • Awesome im going to need this for parkour

  • @welshmagic100

Lol, I have dark eyes. I just explained this in another video.

  • @strengthproject lol they tell me the same thing, i feel ya. im tired of explaining i dont wear mascara my eyes are just like that!! hehe

  • Do a Tutorial for SPLITS!

  • @mazaisvilijs

We already have one! Type in strength project splits tutorial

  • Thanks for another great video!

  • I'm just curious because I have been following Strength Project and you (Arash) for awhile but would you consider yourself pretty flexible? I know flexibility can be a contributing factor in jumping

  • @stec52207

No that was my weakness... Flexibility... Sometimes instead of arching over the bar, I would be in the sitting position. But yes, flexibility will make you much more fluid and efficient in the air. Balancing it all is the way!

  • those lunge jumps - after i did them my legs were sore or 3 days - in a good way DOMS

  • @IHACKER316

Ideally you want to do split cycle lunge jumps, but I didnt feel comfortable doing those as I just recovered from the injury. I'll be doing those later in the year. :)

  • @strengthproject ok great thanks - i used to have knee trouble - then i found a great warm up to protect knees - its 20 prison squats - 20 side to side jumps over a cone (small) and then forward and back on the cone - repeated 3 times - My knees have been good now for the last 4 years and i jump and sprint and kickbox

  • great video -

  • Awesome man! I have to try that

  • can you dunk?

  • @dragutz695

Yes before the knee injury. havent tried since... more so alley oops because gripping the bar was difficult
