i have to agree with greenrate and innosensecal that there is something -askew- with this guy.and the whole pua thing is also disturbing. i think he gets it all -intellectually- but has yet to experience it all -emotionally- and -spiritually- and -physically-.the people that cant see this are the same people that can look at bush and cheney and not see the evil disconnect they have with the human race. either you can see it or you cant. i think hes a trainwreck waiting to happen. time will tell.

Watch the video carefully and you'll see that he's WAY too concerned about . . . the impression he is making on his listeners.

interesting comment that makes me curious, but i'm having trouble understanding. he does not strike me as concerned with impressions. he's teaching, i see him communicating, which requires an awareness of others. so i see awareness but i don't see concern. He does seem to enjoy teaching. but that doesn't seem off to me.

For sure. There's something kinda... sleezy and, unholy. That is... he talks about God all this holy stuff, but it lacks some kind of sincere sense of the sacred. I think it sucks, but for the most part, he's presenting important truths. But maybe it's just his style. Personally, I'd probably punch him. So I'm better off reading his books. But yeah, my gut tells me he ain't practicing what he be preaching. He's on a high horse. I'll watch out for that in myself. It's a razors Edge this stuff.

@majorawol I've read up on this guy and found some pretty sleazy and disturbing stuff myself. Verbal abuse, getting involved in teaching a network of "pick-up artists"...like someone commented below, I think he's a train wreck waiting to happen. I came across a teaching by one of his students and it was also vaguely creepy. But he'd just tell us we are "stuck" somewhere and therefore bypass criticism (the same trick Ken Wilber uses). If I met him, I'd also want to punch him in the face.

David Deida? A "radical," "new" way to view sexuality? Let's see...

a) virtually all of his arguments in Way of the Superior Man are laden with logical fallacies;

b) virtually all of his conjectures can neither be confirmed nor denied -- which means they're not even wrong.

Like a parasite, all he's doing is exploiting the charisma that naturally accompanies being in front of an audience to increase his sexual options.

Simply because he's not feminine does not mean he's masculine.

Any person who doesn't get what this teacher has to teach after reading his work, I wish you well in your journey. Personally I can't imagine sex and love without these teachings. Luckily I will never have to expereince 1rst or 2nd stage relationships anymore. They're all yours--those who have no clue to Deida's work.
