Proving Ground for PS3 would be a good buy since on the PS2 you're really missing big portions of the game including all the online and video editing. If you're going PS3 I think you'll dig Proving Ground.

Bob Burnquist will show you nail the grab, Stevie williams will show you nail the manual, and some dude with yellow spiked hair at the beginning will show you nail the trick. If you choose hardcore, you will learn agro kick, which will give you speed on board and on manuals.

Actually, the PS2 is a pretty crippled version - it doesn't have video editor or online play :( Just the core gameplay itself.

One thing I saw right away with EA Skate is they've done a pretty terrible texture job that they've hidden behind a Field of Vision blur which softens the edges of your vision which attempts to hide this fact.
