The first album was more or less recorded "live" except for the three bad tracks on it,. It was 90% first takes done in about 24 hours ( so was the Ramones first album by the way). We felt that there was no point in recording anything we couldn't produce live.

Actually the words are "BAWLING white face with fuzzy hair", it was all about when Mark and Ant used to fight when they were kids. This was a true story about the day that Mark snapped and couldn't take Ant's bullying tactics anymore, so it ended up in a stranglehold on a PVC chair. I know because I supplied the music to go with the lyrics and played guitar on this video. It was not unusual for Mark to forget the words, sequence of the song and possibly his own name.
