  • Quick question.. how many o2 spacers did u need to get with this Downpipe? did u have to get it cut or did it fit perfect.. what brand o2 spacer did u get?... thanks

  • @edmvr6

I DIDN'T run O2 sensor spacers since I had the APR Stage 2 tune, which turns off the O2 sensor monitoring.

  • so how does this setup compare to the apr one?

  • @plorwax

Can't really comment on the sound difference since I've never heard the APR setup in person.

But....the Magnaflow setup looks better in my opinion. The APR cat-back hangs way too low and can be seen under the rear diffuser where as the Magnaflow isn't seen.

But the APR setup is also a true 3" turbo back system.

The EuroJet downpipe tapers down to 2.5" at the end, so this wasn't a 3" TBE. If you want 3" all the way you need to buy the whole EuroJet turbo back exhaust system

  • Sounds wicked! I've got an Mk6 w/ Magnaflow catback, no stg 2 yet.... Soon. :) love the way it sounds Dan.

  • @553132

WOT and DSG shifts sounded soooo good!!

  • How is the magnaflow holding up to corrosion?

  • @slashfan7777

Held up fine. Just had some minor surface rust after the winter...nothing major

  • By the way really nice sound but you have an intake right ? What about headers? If you don't your car will sound awesome when you get them... ! Sexy GTI !!!

  • Lol these guys are so funny " OMG look at that smoke coming out of the back ! You are killing the world man!! " Haha real funny... Go comment on a diesel truck towing contest or whatever the hell it is where the smoke is everywhere.

  • Your idle really sounds awesome. Great set up!

  • @bharvey2010

Cold starts were kind of loud, but once the revs settled down....you're right, it sounded awesome

  • Wow, look at the smoke. I still ask myself if the 100 years old piston motors will be replaced with a much advanced and less polluting propulsor?

  • @drsembee

    It was a cold start....just moisture/steam

  • @snobrdrdan : Hi, my comment was not directly related to the specific event of smoke generation, but a general consideration how some tecnologies are far behind someothers, like, for example, the electroncs. Really strange.

  • why remove the carbonio intake for winter??

  • why did you go for the Magnaflow Cat-back instead of the Eurojet?

  • @redslumber

There is no EuroJet cat-back for the MKVI GTI . . .yet (?)

  • @snobrdrdan now there is :)

  • Why did you remove your carbonio for the winter, the engine would love that cold air? Afraid of snow? The rain in Orlando makes me paranoid so i dont hit the gas hard when raining.

  • @jasunto

In the winter, the performance isn't any greater (like you might think it would). We get "winter gas" up here and that doesn't help either.

When I took the Carbonio off last winter (off my MKV TSI), it was filthy from all the salt and you could see a water/salt line inside the box from where water once was. Plus I'm sure the cold makes the carbon fiber pretty brittle.

So I figured just remove and not subject it to the winter this time around. Surely isn't going to hurt anything

  • @jasunto

Also, it's not like you can use the extra "performance" on ice or snow anyways.

  • @snobrdrdan but it's nice on the cold dry days!!! In the winter here in Orlando, its gets down to freezing temps, but the road is dry and clear and the car loves it!!!
