Even though the original song is by Namie Amuro I feel that this pitch seems/feels as if it has more meaning. Maybe that's just me, but it seems like there is more meaning if it was sung by say a male character.

Yeah this is the best One Piece opening, and honestly one of the best openings in a series I've heard in a long time.

Main reason isn't just that it sounds nice, but the emotional relevance the song has since the "feel" of it really accentuates the main focus of Season 14 being about Luffy and Ace's childhood (took 490 episodes to finally show how sad Luffy's past really is). It seems cheery with them playing in the background, then saddens while showing Luffy's loss. Then cheery when he grows.
