I agree that the score is terrific. I remember when the film was first released and the reviewer of the LA TImes "tipped his hat" to Mendoza-Nava. The "bacchanal" scene features a beautiful pentatonic, Native American cue. Wish the soundtrack was available.
They had toupees back then? Must have been bearskin...I doubt the budget for this flick even came close to six million dollars...six bucks maybe...Lee Majors as Leif Scrottumsen
Very bad B grade movie with atrocious acting. Cornel Wilde was supposedly a good actor-but didn't show much evidence of it here. And Jack Elam -a mystical wizard? I Don't Think So!!
But -I loved this movie. I loved the action-no PC nonsense here. I loved the music and the mystery of being in a new and unknown land. And Oh yes- Susan Coelho -babe alert.
@DarkWolfen Your right, I also enjoyed this movie. Tell me the part where Olof drowns the two indians in the river holding them upside down by their ankles wasn't a great scene.
@jlmrusa Yeah it was and him standing behind to guard their retreat to the ships. A lone viking fighting against an unknown number. People can say the Vikings were vengeful and menacing, but they can't say they weren't brave.

Even in 3-D this would blow buffalo balls...even Odin himself disavows all knowledge of this one...he blames Loki...

This is a highly underrated movie. Great music, good story and the Vikings are Pagan!
