The lawyers in the family are active in left wing causes. Fred Phelps Jr. hosted a Gore fundraiser at his home in Topeka and was a Gore delegate to the 1988 Democratic National Convention.

I think you need to do a little more research and you will find Gore only took Phelps' money. Once Gore got off the anti-gay band wagon Phelps turned against him and even picketed his fathers funeral. Phelps is not religious leader of any kind, he is a moron, bigot and hate monger. Hell look at at his many convictions. He has been arrested for assault, battery, threats, trespassing, disorderly conduct, contempt of court, and several other charges.
