Kingleealee: every 16 pounds of grain produces one pound of meat, not even mentioning how much water used. If you want to add insight, maybe read some scientific facts and take a few math classes to sound credible. Also check out the intestines and digestive enzymes of a of a carnivore/omnivore vs a human on processing meat. Maybe Maxine will bring about awareness to those who actually want to make a change and research the facts to encourage it.
i guess the cow living is more important than the people in poverty starving all over the world. If you stop killing animals, there will be no meat, if there is no meat, then there is ALOT less food. IF there is less food then more people starve. Funny thing is, is that the people for animal rights are probably also he ones whining about poverty and starvation ll over the world.
I do not understand PETA's position, unassailably illogical though it is. Humans are omnivores and require the consumption, at the very least in part, of meat. Furthermore, cows are not nearly as intelligent as these PETA people portray them, look at a barb wire fence. It is not nearly strong enough to contain cattle, and yet through the stupidity, quite common to all herd animals, of cows they are contained by the threat of barbs that don't even really hurt them.
this is why i gave up meat ten years ago. i went to a farm a lot w/my dogs and got to know the cows, pigs, goats ... there was no way i could eat them after realizing who they were. not what. who.
Touching story! Let us hope that many more Maxines will be saved if people would just open their hearts to the animals and their minds to vegetarianism.
Same here. The sad thing is that farm animals are seen more like commodoties instead of sentient beings like cats and dogs. I too hope that people open their hearts to these events and end the cruelty behind factory farming.
I agree it is an utter shame that these fools are eating manufactured meat. I only eat deer which I have stalked and shot myself. And I do use the entire animal.
