Regarding the crouch cancel stuff... they can only tech out when you are in a neutral state. Crouching is not considered neutral for several frames. Thus if you're holding down as you land and then rejump immediately, your opponent cannot recover AND will remain in a juggle-able state.

@Ellisthemechanic To alpha counter in street fighter alpha 3 whilst you blocking a attack press towards your apponent at the sme time you press forward press to of the same strength buttons e.g hard punch and hard kick or light punch and light kick and remember your guard will decrease when you ac (alpha counter)

and you can only alpha counter when your on a -ism or v -ism , x -ism will not work hope this helps. if you need any more info im the guy

Man,I have this game,but for the PS1.The disc still works up to this day because I tried it out.It's o.k just that they only show how to do the specials in the arcade mode when you select a character.They don't even tell you how to do the v-ism,a-ism, or x-ism!!Plus the control's were shit.For Zangief, you had to use the directional buttons!By the way I'm fifteen.Sorry for such a long comment.

@pl225 no at the moment only sfa2 is out on the psn, I have it and its so crappy ._. I strongly recommend you don't get it. the gameplay feels to different. its not like the other SF games. and for some reason doing special moves and supers barley register properly. I was dissapointed :/, alpha 3 is better on the other hand but, I never realized how broken it was until watching this video haha, 3rd strike will be on the PSN soon and I strongly recommend you getting that. It's good.

@5h4ggyDr34d I would assume it would to be exactly as it sounds: do a crouch after you do a jumping HK to the lessen the amount of frames in order to cancel into something else (like another jumping HK to continue the infinite combo). As the number of set ups shown in the video demonstrate, it's best to do it as a counter due to the invincibility frames you get activating V-ism making fireballs pass through and close physical attacks whiff.

I've managed to land a lot of infinites on players. So do these japanese tourney players. If parry system really ruined strategy then the whole game would be a complete guess but it's not. MOV came to sunroute and beat the best US players without even trying and said they needed a lot of work.

Just as bad, possibly worse (notice I said possibly). And it did destroy strategies such as zoning, which is a big part of SF. In fact, without zoning, street fighter didn't really have anything that made it stand out. The parry system was too powerful, and capcom tried to fix it with FAs, which is a good replacement so far.

I really don't know how good you are but zoning is huge in 3s. Not with fire balls so much but zoning is a huge deal to shotos and short characters.

3s is unbalanced although kuroda who uses low tier Q consistently beats the top best players in japan(who uses top tiers), sandbags them too. I say alpha 3 is more imbalanced because it just has a bigger roster. I really don't know if you as a person encountered parries as a problem or just read it somewhere but it's not as bad as you make it out

@ColgateNacho Don't get me wrong; I love the idea of the parry system. It's brilliant. But it was executed poorly. Projectile zoning has always been a big part of sf, and those without a projectile had other things (cammy's speed, for example). But parries destroyed that. FAs are a reworked version of them, and it's working fine so far. But back on the discussion, we both know 3S is unbalanced. And if you disagree that 3S wasn't as unbalanced as Alpha 3, then feel free.
