God, the kayfabe era could be so petty, the way they try to bury the guy. I mean, what does the AWA gain by shitting on a guy who a) won the match and b) was already gone from the promotion and would never be seen again.
@okrabay I remember watching this on espn and it seemed kind of strange the way they were commenting on him back then the good guys could do no wrong in the eyes of the face commentators especially pre second heel run sarge...
Always found it funny how a wrestler can be booed in one promotion yet be cheered in another. In Japan its different because the fans are probably just happy to have the wrestler over there and get to see him.
