  • He has tone trouble when he sings soft. I say belt it out and rock on....

  • He does go off a lot in this one...

  • wow this is a great song, love this

  • @Brookesbond fuck off it is! it sounds like a cat in a blender :/

  • pff this is awfull

  • Hell Yeah!!! I love the stripped versions... the best... Chris Daughtry rocks.

  • When I love music it shows "I never get tired of hearing "Daughtry". I love the music.

  • i want to hit "like" over and over and over...

  • He's SO talented..vocal and lyrical genious

  • What do you expect after singing on tour! i'd like to see all of you guys out there on tour for as long as he was and still maintain that longevity!!! you little haters on here on the internet are only good at hating...GET OUT THERE AND STEP UP YOUR GAME!!!

  • He sold millions thanks to amircan idol? geez go listen to lee dewyze... belive me

  • It's what happens when a song or an album is over produced, in the studio you have the technology to make you sound like a million dollars but when it comes time to sing it or play it live the artist or band can't perform it like it should be. Find your vocal range or playing ability and keep it simple and you'll always be able to deliver.

  • Bad voice on that day i guess... His other live performances are much better even with the falsetto.

  • @meyt123 I agree, out of tune throughout this version. I love this song though, just not this particular day!

  • when hes liive he sounds like fucking shit when hes not live i like his songs.

  • I really like this version a whole lot. I also like the acoustic version of home. Wish they'd make an ann acoustic cd.

  • This is when it was Chris & the 4 J's

  • i fell in love with this song the first time i heard it i would kill to watch him perform this song live

  • time went seriring age increases

  • love it

  • Meine ware liebe.es ist nicht aus nur weill sie das so wollen.ich werde immer auf dich warten.meine liebe aus mahlow

  • not only his he an awesome singer and the band is amazing but you have to give mad props to his drummer...if you look at other videos of Daughtry as well as this one the Drummer is his back up singer. That's gotta be hard to pound on drums and keep a steady singing voice.

  • live klingt das soooo scheißeee :D:D

  • @HighDefPixel Du hast einfach keine Ahnung. Diese ganzen Songs die im Studio Glattgebügelt wurden sind scheisse.

  • i love this song

  • jaaaa it,s not over baby

  • mag ich :)

  • he might be exhausted...if you've been performing constantly your voice is bound to wear out eventually. this is the first and only time i've seen him struggle through a performance.

  • i love this song, great lyrics - remembering me to my own situation. :/

  • vin diesel

  • @bokiebok123 LOL! He does resemble him.

  • his digrastic muscles are kicking in to much and his epiglottis is closing it happens when you dont sing the right way and yes there is def a right way to sing look up brett manning he is the best vocal coach there is

  • @corruptthefaith

Yeah, Brett's so good that he's got half the world calling the muscle under their chins the "digrastic muscle", when it's actually called the "digastric muscle"!

Seriously though, Brett's a great vocal coach, and really puts his all into his courses, but with singing pedagogies, there's never a consensus. Speech level singing isn't the ONLY way to sing well, but it definitely has some strong points.

  • This sux so bad...

  • Super

  • its the best for me

  • this sucked! but the performance on ellen was amazing!

  • 5 from me 2....:)

  • 5****************

  • I try to see the good in life;good things in life are hard to find...blown away blown away

  • He doesn't know how to use his head voice. It's always cracking up and stopping when he gets to the higher parts. :D

  • THIS SONG - AMAZING. and he is amazing. he fucks it up a few times here MAYBE, but shit happens ahaha. but he deff is a great singer. screw siimon.

  • I like the song....But I really think he screwed it up here !!

  • I agree it like hes not trying his best

  • this is worse than i thought and it proves Simon right man.

  • Omg, its not perfoming, its originally from daughtry

  • @llllllllllama

Performing doesnt mean the song is not their own work. To perform means to execute...

When you run, you are performing an action.

  • Ok thx, now i understand ;)

  • Nickelback Sing This Song Better!

  • ever notice this song sounds like hemmerage by fuel? sing the fuel lyrics to this song. pretty much bang on.

  • Amor... esto que siento por ti no se ha acabado... esta latente y sé que cuando estemos juntos todo será dfte........ no sabes cuanto t amo!

  • i love Chris Daughtry, but ouch.

  • love u kael..

  • Can't see why he persist in doing the falsetto when he sing this song acoustic. It' really sounds terrible. Sing it like it's meant to and not like this.

  • Ronnedal, he wrote the song so he can sing it any way he feels. Music is about creativity and there is never one "right" way to perform the song. The falsetto does not show his ability but it's still not "wrong" to use it.

  • I see what you mean! I think it suits it the first time, even though he cuts the note short, but every time after that he really shouldn't.

    Great version though!

  • your right...his falsetto is pretty bad...

  • falsetto is bad? check out "Call Your Name" and tell me it's bad.

  • well i dont actualy know what falsetto means but im guessing its how he goes higher pitched, quieter and shortens some of the 'boldest' notes... is tht right???

  • @simsohi falsetto means "false voice" (not sure its the actual translation but its the best way to describe it) it doesnt have to be quieter than your singing voice..its just a different way of doing things.

Vile Vallo from H.I.M uses falsetto a lot

(An example would be the high pitched notes on the verses of "Your Sweet 666"--and you dont have to like the band this is just an example)

Its just a different way of using your voice.

  • @ronnedal He obviously didn't warm up his voice properly, so he physically can't reach the note....it's not that he wants to do falsetto. It's just his physical capabilities.

  • awesome!!

    I love the song~~~~~

  • Love the acoustic version =)

The best one for me =D

  • i love this version ♥

  • Major voice problems and off pitch... Probably sick that day. Great version though.

  • he is awesome :)

  • man, his voice should sung aloud, not like this. Gotta love Chris anyway.

  • He wrote the song so he can sing it any way he sees fit.

  • It's a Shame That He Can't Sing the Over Parts really well

but apart From That Pretty Wicked

  • why is he going falsetto instead of into the notes?

  • The vocals tend to cover the instruments when the music is not real loud (as loud as the recorded version). He does not have as many intrus here to back him up as the studio/distortion version.

Besides it tends to be psychological as well when you hv only guitars so u tend to sing false or low. Many artists do that... :)

  • His song, his choice, I guess!

  • He can;t go high on the "over" parts. But i still love this song:D

  • Well, he can, but he didn't for this version.. Strictly because it's acoustic, and the volume of the instrumentation is substantially lower, and he needs to sing really loud to hit those notes, which he can't do without throwing off the balance of the song

  • anybody know how to download this?????

  • yay Daughtry and I will give points for the bonga playing player!:D

Wow Chris using Falselto. "impressive" :D Falselto is the best!!Rock on!

  • Whoa.. what happened at 0:43 ? He didn't say the "er" part of "over".

  • his voice sucked here, I think he had a sore throat or something as he sang the national anthem live at a huge event unless it was mimed but doubt it.

  • hmmm he should sing every chorus like he did on the last one.

  • good

  • naja, iwa treibn mas net!!!!

  • I just realizd that Chris looks kinda like Vin Diesel...a little....and I agree. Lower the notes dude. I love ya, but lower the darn notes. It sounds outta place.

  • He can not sing this song live. He has to lower the notes or something. I have in all my stuff.

  • wow!!!i wish simon cowell watch this and actually make a comment here for him. he would probably say: "that was pathetic. horrible performance"!

oh my...daughtry is good and all, but he sucked on this video. off tune throughout the whole song. ouch!

  • i dont like this version...but i think is cause the version.....his voice was made to sings rock.....AND rock is loud and strong.... acoustic is too weak for him....is not his voice...is the version....

  • i like the acoustic better. DAUGHTRY rocks!!!!

  • i don't like this version! But song is great!

  • his vocal range in the original version are incredible.. RIP

  • This song is so much better then "Hemmorhage" or whateva -.-

  • daughtry rocks hard

  • what a nice lovely song...keep it up daughty

  • so i prefer not acoustic

  • i love this song

  • This performance blows (i.e. pitchy falsettos abound), as with most of his live performances of this song.

It's funny how Fuel wrote this song in 2001 and called it "Hemorrhage." And it was a vastly superior song. "It's not over" = ripoff.

  • dude what in the hell are you talking about...

i agree with the first part, but with the fuel song... not even close, if you were even half educated you would realize how retarded that comment is.

  • verses of the two songs are nearly identical (same key, same chord progression, near-carbon copy guitar riff, and the melody bears a resemblance to the Fuel song as well); and the musical theme and structure of the two songs overall are waaaay too similar (despite rather different choruses). do a google search and you'll see others who hear the same thing. thanks for your opinion though.

  • Despite i think the same as you... (Hemorhage and Its not over are... really... ""close"")

.. Why don't you stop spamming all the "it's not over" daughtry videos ? Seriously, what do you intend to do?

  • I believe only left a comment regarding the similarity on two Daughtry vids... maybe 3 at most. Not really spammin'.

What do I intend to do? I shall bribe Daughtry into never using his goat-vibrato again, lest I tell the world he heavily borrowed from a Fuel song. Well, probably not, but I can dream...

  • I'll be honest... Daughtry's voice is really good, but the choruses of this song (and most of his music) are really really really crappy (studio versions.. live versions are better). But that's because these sound all like ..generic mainstream shit rock. If Daughtry got a bit more into POST GRUNGE, than in mainstream rock, he'd be totally awesome.

But hey, the verses of this one are fucking awesome, even though they sound like... hemorrhage LOL

  • No it doesn't. I tried listening to Hemorrage like 10 times and still heard no resemblance. I don't know about you but I heard no relativeness.

  • everytime he has to sing high notes, he does that fade out thing.

  • Why didnt they do another take of this? this is really bad. I know he can sing better than this. Furthermore, why is this performance rated 5 stars? Even if you like daughtry, you gotta admit this is not good. Oh and he wasnt sick. Just bad. THe other songs from this session were on point.

  • i agree. when they say its not over it sounds terrible. he does sound a little sick tho. and it does bother me when ppl give videos 5 stars jus bcuz they love the person in it. i kinda like it cuz its more natural tho but he is better than this

  • this vid rocks and the guitar players are kinda cute.... ok really cute i guess

  • Muito boa essa música...

    Amo ela profundamente..

Marca um bom momento da minha vida...

  • major change keep with the rock style..

  • I like Daughtry, but this is pretty bad for him! Falling off pitch, problems hitting the high notes, poor transitions between head voice and chest voice.

    Ugh.

  • dude...wad you expect,he's not in some concert that he can sing his throat to the max.this is just a strip version of it

  • that's no excuse. manu artists can sing beautifully with only an acoustic guitar by their side!

  • Hmmm.. Realy great song! But sometimes it's a it's not right.. I know it's because it's live but I've seen better live shows of him..

  • omg! they made a movie of me and some friends and this was the song in the back-round! it was on you tube for a while and then parent wanted it off so.....boo-hoo!!

  • why is he sick and what sickness?

  • I love this song

Very better in acoustic in my opinion

  • yes. it are very better.

  • He's sick as a dog! Let's see you try to perform HALF as good as he does when he is SICK. You can't...so shut your mouth.

  • lovee thiss song(:

i think he should have won

    taylor hicks got nowhere.

  • yeah I know Chris deserved it way more then taylor when people talk about him they have no idea who he is

    Chris got farther then him!:O

  • on studio session everyone of us could be a Pavarotti or a Celine Dion...but live, it's another thing: when I hear this version I want to go to the bathroom and poo;

however I think he has a great voice.

  • He is okay to be honest ... and like the other guy said, "he didn't have any music effects or anything done to his voice.

  • He's very good. I'm sure when he's in studio he doesn't have that much done to his voice. How do I know this? Because normally when he is live, he sounds very close to the studio. But this time, as everyone is saying, he sounds very sick.
