i wanted to hear the sample that diplo took for "blow your head", you play a little bit of it, but cut it short

  • sounds like the end, and the beginning of track 2 to me.

check out the next song on the LP, blow your head. it starts with the moogish electronics.

  • Yeah.. for all my JB Skaters...lol

  • im 25 and I'm just learning of this stuff. all I ever knew of was James brown and his career. I need to have this music but its so fucking hard to find. and there is no way I'm buying it from Itunes.

  • A good place to start would be getting hold of this "JB's Funky Good Time: The Anthology CD". Superb two disc anthology that covers all the JB essentials. The look into stuff by Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley and Pee Wee Ellis; the JB horns.

  • I can get james brown mp3 albums for the low for you

  • This is cold..

  • James Brown was also known as "Nat Kendrick and The Swans" and recorded some cold instrumentals fo Smash Records in the 1960s.

  • got to love it!

  • This is my favorite by the JB's. I played my 45 so much, then someone stole it.......

  • SO GODDAMN FUNKY!!!

  • This is one of the best bassline grooves of all time, it drives the song and gives it that funky soul sound I have come to love.

  • in the '80s if it wasn't for the rappers I would have known about James Brown.

"Rocky" and "Living In America" wouldn't cut it.

  • Damn Right I am somebody!!

  • Churchhill sound was one label we were on also, Third World, Solid Smoke and the first ever aceitate was done by starlite records owned by Mr Nathen and Mr Bass, that was the KING label that did all the early country songs and signed JB to get some black action going for the label. King/ Federal then Polydor, a french co took over the label from Sid Nathan .

  • James Brown record labels: People, Brownstown, Try Me, Augusta International, Identify. James Brown has recorded for these labels: Federal, King, People(hot Pants), Polydor, TK, Augusta International, Scotty Brothers and many others.

  • thanks from France bwilliams..

  • Did James Brown ever recorded for his own in-house label? I think Polydor at the time had all rights to James's music.

  • Its James Browns own in house label from the 70 s its called FunkyPeople

There are 3 compilations available all Slammin

those were the days ... doin it all night long ...

    keep groovin

  • Can you tell me the name of the purple and black label, please?I've been looking for a song put out by that label.
