for me the northern countries of europe have the best metal bands :) it's a shame that america has stuff like kate perry and lady gaga on the radios.. we got rock & metal going on the radios mostly rock but still alot of metal too and im from the south side of europe :) i image the radio shows in sweden and finland must be even better its like driving while listening to your favorite metal band in your local radio show :D
First time I heard this I was like "but where's the riffs" then you realise how superior the vocal performance is and how it all comes together just to make a fucking great song.
Structurally, this is about the best thrash metal vocal performance ever.
@Theshark15z Death, Autopsy, Cannibal Corpse, Xasthur, Leviathan, Slayer, Black Sabbath, Dream Theater, Mastodon just to name a few of the more known american metal bands and projects, but Europe has got it's aces as well, so there is no better, just a matter of opinion.
@SasukeYusuke Well I know those guys are practically legends but I was talking about the bands that are coming out now. The ones that sucks and haven't paid there dues like all the ones have done in the past.
@SasukeYusuke Europe invented the metal, so it's no surprising that the EU has better/more metal acts than the US. Ghost Brigade, Omnium Gatherum, Insomnium, Profane Omen, Mygrain, Nicole, Pain Confessor, Survivors Zero, and Fear of Domination are all excellent bands from Finland. From Sweden: The Haunted, In Flames, At The Gates, Scar Symmetry, Arch Enemy etc. And those were only Finland and Sweden. Granted, Finland and Sweden are the home of MDM but still...all the bands above are excellent.
@OnlyLifeMatters I wouldn't say, that Europe invented metal. I think both Europe and the States were exploring the musical directions they can take at about the same time. But of course, Europe has alot of melodic metal(and other genres) and America has "classic" thrash and death metal, for example. Each with his own, both are good in my opinion.
@SasukeYusuke Well, it was rock that progressed forward in USA, yes, absolutely, but it was the Europe where metal took it's first steps. Later on it went to the States as well, and the two continents started to develop metal into different directions, ultimately leading to trash in America and melodic death metal in Europe.
@OnlyLifeMatters America = thrash? Don't make me laugh. There are very few even decent thrash bands(any metal for that matter) to come out of the USA, and even fewer that are good.
@Zem0nkey Metallica, Testament, Slayer, Megadeth, Overkill just to name a few Thrash metal bands from U.S.A. Europe is not the only place for good metal although it would seem to be metal's goldmine
the haunted is the most adrenaline packed, visceral, catchy thrash metal band i know. i couldnt stop listening to them if i tried. their music punches you in the fucking face and then hits on your mom. Faggot.
@adudethatiscool ugh just leave the scene kids alone; it's their loss for being more concerned about the fashion...and I also don't think all scene kids are homosexual, just saying.
In Fact the bjöirler brothers (or however you prnounce it) came from the band At The Gates to The Haunted. At The Gates is one of the fathers of the melodic death metal genre. The brought a huge influence in the haunted. In the marku aro days they reminded me more of "death metal" . others say they are post thrash metal (not really :S). But the term that fits this music the most is Frrrreaky good music or The Haunted
FUCK i LOVE THIS VIDEO! So fucking intense there is no way to describe it! In the name of Odin this video is just extremely well done. the ending is like motherfucking epic!
i agree with amx3607, LOG is a more over all brutal band lyrics vocals guitar, their drummers a fucking beast from hell but the haunted often has better vids, in fact it was started by randy Blyth that they were copying the haunted because Randys a fan im pretty sure the 2 bands have tour together imo log has better compossure to their songs in all honesty but they both kick ass
I think Lamb of God is more of an in your face band. However, I think The Haunted's first two albums are more "brutal" than most of what LoG has done, even though they're not as in your face.
log isn't really so much in your face its just the message there sending is tragic. alot of there older stuff was alot about the downfall of government then about the terrors of war, and more recently(sacrament) the stupidity of main stream religion
This video makes me want to hurt someone. Is there anyone here who is willing to die? You'll be listening to this song, so it won't be as painful. Anyone?
I'm so psyched. This is one of my favorite music videos, and I just found out that Lamb of God is making a similar one for their new song "Set to Fail". I doubt it'll compete with this one, but they're supposed to have the same concept, and LoG said there's will be slightly more brutal. We'll just have to see about that though.
I honestly have no idea. He announced he was leaving after One Kill Wonder, and we never heard from him again. It's a shame because he was very talented. I'm happy to have Dolving back though.
I guess I should have written that Marco RETURNED to Face Down, as this was his band since its inception in 1993! He left them to join The Haunted, who he knew from touring as support for At the Gates.

If you are into the Haunted please check out our band SPLIT LIP GRIN on youtube and let us know what you think about the tunes. Thank you my metal-head brethren.
you can say that again my brother. the haunted is definitely in my top ten list of most underrated bands ever. its surprising that these guys aren't considered legends.
After I became friends with the guys in the guys in the Smash-Up, I found it ironic that they were influenced by the Haunted as well (as Cuthbert's cleaner vocals sound VERY similar to Dolving's). Has anyone else noticed this?
Dolving has some powerful emotion in his voice, which makes his music really intense. On the other hand, Marco seems to be more suited for the band with his scream that makes you want to crap yourself. It's a tough call, but I personally think Dolving is better just because he sings more and a bit better.
I also like Dolving more, because he is really different from your typical metal singer. hes got some weird lyrics (especially in this song!) and a powerful voice. marco aro is a great singer, nonetheless! can't call him a donkey dick just cause dolving is better...
Yeah, Marco was better, but Dolving also has some skill. He's got a powerful stage presence, and he was the original vocalist. It's good when a band has a good chemistry and their original lineup definitely had an unbreakable bond.
Wow. The editing almost makes the video funny. Almost. But I agree with the dudes below, Marco's voice sounds much cooler than Pete's. Wouldn't know about stage prescence, I've never seen them live.
Dolving does have presence, and their self-titled was good but personally, I prefer Aro, The Haunted Made Me Do It and One Kill Wonder were just sick.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I think these guys are embracing more of a hardcore sound of the 80's nowadays, this song kind of proves it, though I still do enjoy it, bring back Marco Aro on vocals hes much stronger vocally than Dolving.
Peter Dolving > Phil Anselmo its a fact, deal.

Wow. The editing almost makes the video funny. Almost. But I agree with the dudes below, Marco's voice sounds much cooler than Pete's. Wouldn't know about stage prescence, I've never seen them live.

Marco Aro has a stronger vocal sound, but Peter Dolving has an awesome crazy personallity, and it shows live too, i've met Pete and Jensen \m/

Dolving does have presence, and their self-titled was good but personally, I prefer Aro, The Haunted Made Me Do It and One Kill Wonder were just sick.

I think these guys are embracing more of a hardcore sound of the 80's nowadays, this song kind of proves it, though I still do enjoy it, bring back Marco Aro on vocals hes much stronger vocally than Dolving.

Is it just me or have they replaced the words in the video?
