@MtaBus5102 Trains take thousands of feet to slow down, it's not instant slowing like in a car or even a tractor trailer. The wheels can only provide so much friction against the metal rails. Emergency breaking is reserved for emergencies, like a broken track or a vehicle in the way. Even that's more along the lines of only slowing down to lessen damage if they have a lot of cars on the engine.
