Not @ the right place to shoot the video. You got to stand near the entry/exit doors of upcoming stations. You just hav to stand there. You will be pushed out or pushed 'in in no time. and have to stand cramp for almost the entire duration. At peak hours these are so crowded people hand loose from Windows outside....
OMG I miss it...I am staying in UK now for past few years..Here they have those clean , comfy trains...u get place to sit...easy to travel..but can not find this spirit anywhere around....
omg yo i miss mumbai so much... especailly thane i home place i love it. i miss those memories.. and fun gonna come back like in 6 or 7 years then settle again in mumbai
its actually quite a lot of fun travelling in one..blind people come & sing in the train, people tip them....& then some marketing people come & try to see innovative stuff..man its an awesome experience...
To each their own and it's great that they're happy but on my commute to and from work I am glad people keep their mouths shut. I just want quiet especailly on my way home from work.
actually indians are raelly big on bathing and keeping clean, they tend to have a herbal, incense-smelling scent, because they bathe in exotic oils and what not. i thought body odor would be very common india but that is way more of an arab thing. indians are really into being formal and clean-cut looking, at least that's what i experienced in mumbai
@onegoodman66: bad driving on roads account for most of those deaths. the railways have an incredibly low fatality rate, even compared to any form of transport anywhere. consider this: indian railways carry ~17 million people per day, that's close to 6 BILLION people a year. no other system in the world could come close. the konkan railway is a marvel in civil engn. bombay's locals smash london's tube in # of people, and easily match it in reliability. and yet, they're so cheap!!
Central and Western Railway was forced to release under the Right to Information Act that at least 20,706 people have died in the last five years; an average of 10 each day. The request was filed by Mumbai activist Chetan Kothari. 10 each day seems like a fair bit. But trains will be trains and people will be people.
such is the sprit of the people that islamic terrorists have executed bomb blasts multiple times in such crowded traind...but an hous or so latrer people travel again in the same trains in same crowded fashion.... Thumbs up to the Mumbai people and may god bring these islamic terrorist pigs to justice by slaughering them before these innocent people who just travel to earn their daily bread...
come out from your dreams. what about un solved crimes, what about crimes never been reported, what about gangs fight for 50 pence how many people sleep on stations, bus stops, under bridges and foot paths. face this realty you day dreamer and bit of------and in this situations whatch out your pocket mate
the discussion is about the trains in mumbai and not about the crime situation in the city...What has your comment to do with if the infrastructure is great or not.You wont understand the greatness of mumbai trains unless you become a part of it, If you were a part of it and still didnt get why its great, then i feel sad for you
What a wonderful sociological insight into one of the greatest infrastructures in Asia - the Indian train, particularly the Mumbai train. Mass of people, mass of consciousness and mass that is quite helpful. Large population, yet has so few killings and murders for its size and crowd, compared to some developed countries. Very telling. Thank you for the lovely video. I hope you will post more with commentaries (of many parts of India).
@curiousquestions, you must have been living on a different planet. bad road and railway system kill tens of thousands of ppl each year in India. face the fact! Do something to let India's poor benefit from the economical growth.
which world are you living , there is no place in the world where dirtiness and poverty doesn't exist , especially where people like you exist there is always poverty
ups, sorry i just deleted the other comment. well .. we exited the train halfway, because we could not stand the thightness in there, so we continued our journey by taxi. so much easier!
People from The Gold Coast in Queensland. thinks travelling on the trains to and from The Gold Coast is the same as travelling on trains in Bombay especially in number of people on the trains.

Well I don't know you seem to romanticize allot the way of life there. I most be agree with you because I don't know your level on this planet. It is so that I met allot of friendly people but not so much with the rich. The train! Well yes this and much other was a shock to see how the need to survive, sometime I think where is God here ... Pls help this world etc.
