Im a 4th kew purple belt in Judo and Jui-Jitsu and im not familiar with brazilian juijitsu although they are alike may someone please point me out a few differences,,,thank you,,,, and this was a beautiful match barbaric was a bad choice of vacabulary Judo and Juijitsu are both violent arts , but peaceful, this art respects the opponents (yugi)

@NatashaDunbar the most obvious differences are found in the rules. judo matches end in ippon/points, bjj ends in submission/points (no ippon). further, judo (to my knowledge) doesn't allow subs below the waist but bjj does. the next difference is the training. most bjj happens on the ground (matches have no mate' due to ground inactivity) while a great deal of judo is throws. bjj guys USUALLY have bad throws and focus more on ground

I believe jiu jitsu to be the most barbaric of all martial arts, real martial art is supposed to be both deadly and beautiful like art it is a shame something like this can be admired by many, it just knock your opponent down and grapple him, basic barbaric wrestling still is good to know but even if it is convenient i prefer kung fu being both helpful and beautiful.

wrong in Japanese jujitsu is translated to the gentle art because it looks simple and it takes a little effort (once you get the moves down) to put your opponent in a lot of pain so its not barbaric and since when is martial arts supposed to be beautiful its mostly used for self defense and also in Japanese jujitsu their is a lot of respect involved not sure about Brazilian but I'm sure its pretty similar. Kung-fu isn't beautiful it can be pretty brutal to so can any martial art.

actually ju-jitsu is the japanese martial art from which judo and bjj (brazilian jiu jitsu) are derived. So i guess Ju-Jitsu is the father of Jiu Jitsu
