The problem is that people are selfish assholes who think of their own interests above the safety of others.

It is not just texting, it is ipods, radios, makeup, shaving, reading, phone, petting the dog, I drive for a living, ive seen it all. The biggest problems are multiple teens in the same car. They think they know everything and they dont know shit. I saw a teen plow into a pedestrian and watched her foot come completely off. The girl was in shock and tried to get up and walk away. Not pretty...

Sure, I see elderly people driving shitty, business men with the wall st. journal open, on their lap etc etc, But, by far the worst of the worst is the 16 to 21s. They just haven't been driving long enough to have the hours of experience. Especially being a new driver texting, talking on the phone, etc

It all proves that taking your eyes off the road for just a split second can cause a chain reaction accident. Unless you've seen those same accidents at Daytona or Talladega, one mistake can cause all of this. Oprah Winfrey said it best, don't text while driving. With laws prohibiting the use of cellular phones while driving, this should be a message to all teenagers. I think they should start incorporating gadget in the car that will disable cellphone signal while the engine is running and transmission on gear, and will only allow good signal if the transmission is on "Park" talk or text as much as you want. A while ago my friend and I were driving on the interstate in a heavy snow storm (my friend was driving).
