What really transpires in this interview is how bitter, angry and sad he seems. At first, it just seems like a weaken junkie but if you listen to what he says and even the way he sings during the interview, It's quite easy to see that there's more than just the effects of drugs, he was clearly depressed and bitter... And the saddest thing is that he seemed to believe everything was ok... Drugs are efficient vicious liars. He was really fortunate to come out of it. And we're lucky...

@Mefreudi i agree. everything contains a degree of truth, and even the worst of things in this world can have positive effects in certain areas at certain times. by no means am i saying coke and heroin can bring only good or only bad~ im sure it can bring both to a person~ but obviously it is all too easy to get swallowed by something like that. all things require moderation.

I am very glad that he stopped thinking the answer was in the substance, and instead realized it lies within all of us.

I know a lot of people would disagree, but I think Niandra Lades and Usually Just a T-Shirt is a masterpiece. It's so melodic and beautiful, yet extremely haunting and the lyrics show extreme creativity and emotion. I wouldn't play it with friends over, but I certainly enjoy listening to it on my own.

Man he has a completely different outlook on drug abuse then kiedis.. Kiedis was all like drugs are shit, but i cant help myself although i appreciate and love life so much. Ant cus of that he came to. But John,at that point in life, just doesnt seem as the man who would see a purpose in life witt no drugs. Although his art was blooming.. he wasnt chanelling that energy in a good healthy direction. It kinda just got him deeper to a bad state of mind. Its terrible, so im glad he's good now :)
