@Dan99Lee No i'm playing in "A" and and hitting the 4th,5th, and 6th open as much as possible making it sound like an open tuning. the tuning is E-B-G-D-A-E
This is just outstanding!!! I really wish you could give a tutorial on this like some of your other posts. It looks fairly straightforward but some of your tutorials have closer shots of the fretboard. You are truly the master!!!
this is my favorite piece of music ever. your version is beautiful. thank you very much for sharing it. i play myself and have been working for a long time on figuring out how to play this one.
Fred, if you could, could you post your amp/guitar settings. Love your tone in this video. I'm trying to copp a Blues meets Jazz meets Latin feel, if that makes any sense lol, and I'd like to use your settings as a base and maybe mess around with them. Thanks.
yes i likre it too !! i am working on this tune. i paly the same 335 but on a fender blues junior and i would very much like to get close to your sound.
a guitar player who looks like they enjoy and feel the music from their heart not their head. a fantastic version of a fantastic song. thanks for putting it up :)
Lovely interpretation, Freddy. I agree that your playing is inspiring. The reason is that it's so musical — it speaks to the hearer. Doesn't hurt that the guitar and amp sound great!
Freddy - thanks for the reply - I have it on full screen and figuring it out ... going well, and I am enjoying it. Really appreciate your videos. Steve
Freddy - I pretty well have it down ... Gotta tell you, I am 52 yrs old, frustrated playing for a long time, and your videos instilled a new found passion for playing. Thank you so very much!
hi tart52, i learned it many years ago by listening to a record by cannonball aderly, ive never seen music for it,i play by ear and dont write stuff out
thank you for your reply,my grand son e-mail me about you,he plays by ear and plays your mercy mercy very well im 64yrs old and cant play by ear.he is 14yrs old. i will keep trying. thanks for the music.
i used to play this tune in a jazz duet with a sax player, we would just open a fake book and play a different tune every night
hey have you heard night passage by weather report? i thought is was innovative and the best zawinul i ever heard - especially the tune madagascar that i think was written by john ambercrombie if im not mistaken
Hey Freddy! Thanks again for all your great videos. I have Vol's 1 and 2 of the real books For this song I guess it just has the head. are you improvising or is there chord solo sheet music that I could get. I mean no disrepect because I enjoy listening and watching you as well as others. I learn a lot from musicians as your self. I have a long way to go. Thanks again. Russ
Nice work I have a lot to learn. I'm trying to memorize my fret bord and develope my sight reading skills. I also need a lot of work on my chords. My ears are not as good as they useto be from working with loud machinery. I fell in love with jazz when I came across MattOtten's playing. Now I'm looking to those who inspier me as your self. Thanks again Russ
Hope all will go well with your appointment and much anticipated recovery! I find it interesting how you hold that pick. Seems different than the way I do. 8-)

@LaraSixtyEight Why wait for it to be tabbed? With a little patience you could probably learn it just from this video....
And freddym223: excellent playing btw!
