CanineArachnid , being Christian doesnt mean you cant fall in love. It means you love and worship our lord God and live your life for him. And sufferingshadows this song has 2 meanings one talking about love, because Relient K has non christian followers like many of my friends, and for me I see the point of the singer and him on his walk spiritually with god.

Not every one of their songs are about God/Jesus.

A lot of their songs are based on life.

This one's about how a lot of couples get married and whatnot, even though they can't say I love you and be honest about it.

@teddyluv24 I always thought it was more about his girlfriend at the time, and their relationship. They were engaged, and he was always on tour. So they said I love you, but literally could not look into each other's eyes. And the idea of her letting go is terrifying to him.

Of course, they've broken up since then, which is sad. I guess it wasn't all smooth from there.

It's true, they do have a lot of good songs about life in general :) I don't mean to say you're wrong or anything, but the way I took the song was that it's about a long-distance relationship.

"I'm so tired of the phone/road"... always having to travel or talk on the phone to see eachother.

"We say those words but we can't look into each other's eyes" (while they're talking on the phone)

Sometimes some Christian bands just write songs that aren't necessarily gospel-related. They have lyrics and music and then they release it on an album with their other songs.

And some Christian bands are simply a band with Christian members with clean lyrics and a clean message.

He's singing that they've made it through the trials. And whenever they can't be together, she should remember the times they were able to be together.
