The Zi6 is okay, but Kodak's software SUCKS! I like to edit my videos and their software is very limited. I would NOT recommend this product.

It's good but i have the flip and i like it better. I definetely know that editing w/ flipshare is way easier on the flip. The Kodak is a bit too bulky and very ugly. However, it's video quality in HD is superior than the flip's video quality in HD. For serious video shooting, I say the Zi6, but for simple, good looking fun vids, thee flip's the one!

Mine picked it up automatically Pitbullchat. I didn't install the software that came with it but since I do video work anyway, there are already plenty of codecs plus the arcsoft software(it came with a previous camcorder).

i tired it with bass but it wont really work that good. you have to put the bass at really low volume for this.. but the video quality is fantastic, i tried it, its great but like i said the bass is a little too strong for its microphone..

This is a great little camera. Better sound quality than the Zx1. Typically $149. I use a monopod, single skipole type pod and it takes a lot of shake out.

i was thinking flip before but now i'm thinking zi6. i just wish it would take decent video when its not so light out. I heard this to be a problem besides the lack of stabilization when recording.

the SD card is the major bonus i'd say.

I just took one away for a weekend Hockey Tournament and didn't even fill my 8 gig SD memory card. I charged the batteries once but they may not have been fully charged when I bought the camera. Great full screen HD on my lap top!

I just recently bought this camera it came with the case, little tripod, 4 batteries and the battery charger all for 159.00 dollars at walmart. I had to buy the 4gig memory card that cost me about 20 dollars but it was worth it. it has no flash, but it has automatic self lighting so it wont work good in the dark, but it does in normal lighting.. the video is great, it's handy compact small features make it easy to use, and very easy to post on youtube I just wish it had a flash

Well to be honest, it can be good to videotape concerts, live music etc, but it depends where you are sitting and how close or far you are from the stage. Usually in dark places like bars and concerts it can be a little hairy.. lol meaning not so hot, but it's not all too bad either.. the sound is good, just like a regular digital video camera, if your up close to the stage it will be good.. but if your far away it will be ok, but not great. I hope you understand what im saying lol

I think I do haha! I'll be seeing Metallica in San Jose this December on the rail.. so I'll be only 6 feet or so from the stage. I'll be seeing another show where I'll be in the lower section, pretty darn close to the stage. The vids that my Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W80 were decent, so I thought this would be pretty good. I dunno now haha!

Well, after frusteration with using the camera, I returned it to Best Buy and got a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W290 that records HD. I feel much more comfortable with this one.

The frusteration was weak software that it comes with (I use Windows Movie Maker, not gunna spend $80+ for any program), and the video files weren't compatible with what I do. The camera itself felt kinda cheap IMHO and the zoom sucks to me. I'm not a big camera snob, but this one didn't float my boat. I've owned the Sony for less than a few hours, and love it already. I saw your profile page, very nice! Oh ya, the new one retails for $250, but with discount/gift card, $170 for me haha

Secondly, how it works differently... the Sony is effortless with editing and uploading/organizing... the Kodak had me picking my brain with how everything on it works and I wasn't happy with what I was seeing. Converting files is not my thing and shouldn't be in the process. The Sony does HD, so to me it made sense. Also, I wanted a camera with good photos as well, and the Sony does 12.1MP, which blows me away. Sony was a smarter choice for me. The Kodak may rock for tohers. To each his/her own

I think the Flip is good as its smaller, but the smaller size means it has a smaller screen. The Zi6 (I think) can take still images, where the Flip can't, and the Zi6 also has a memory card slot ... again, the Flip doesn't.

this isnt even hd playback so it is better. but if you just want to record game play, i suggest you look into the pennacle dazzle. you can connect that to any composite input and record video onto your computer

Hey Troy, not trying to be rude at all but I got my Zi6 from Kodak last week and it was horrible. The motion blur and the low light performance was beyond bad.

The video I shot in perfect lighting was not even as good as my Flip Ultra and Mino.

I posted my own review of the Zi6 here as well, for me it was not love of the Zi6 but more like hate and a feeling of WTF Kodak.

I have read a few reviews saying the video quailty blew away the Flip Ultra and one review saying the difference was slight.

I would personaly think the Kodak would be far better than the Flip.

I have been using a Kodak Z710 for all my video shooting, and this is EXACTLY what I have been waiting for!!!
