Bechtel only had to raise rates to pay back debts the Bolivian government ran up when they were running the water system into the ground. Bechtel had to raise prices 10-90% because the debt was 30 million dollars where the population was 500,000 people with low incomes.

Bechtel is a great company, and because of its size, able to complete projects all over the world that few if any other companies can. This demonstration closed major traffic routes in SF, blocked emergency vehicles from getting to medical emergencies. Way to go, "peaceful" people.

how can anyone criticize what these people are doing,, they are doing this for our descendants.. I knew some of these people who did an excellent job in raising awareness about the massive mercury contamination. infant leukemia and birth defects all a direct result the yanacocha gold mine in Peru owned mostly by Newmont mining..

WHat do these activists have to gain.. why shouldnt everyone care.. and how else can we show that we care and demand a stop?
