Absolutly Estonia was first ever mentioned as part of the Kingdom of Denmark and translated from dänish as the estern lands. However it switch from swedish power afterthat almost directly into russias hands and stayed there until it was free of the soviet union. So actualy counting it as its own country before that UdSSR is slightly presumptuous.
