  • nice work you all!

  • Well done. I purchased the Urantia book many years ago, and in fact on the same day I also bought a book by Alastair Crowley, entitled: "The Tree of Life".

I have found the Urantia to be most insightful at the very least. Nice vid.

  • @KillBaddBugz Thanks!

  • good job

  • Fascinating!

  • Believe it or not...Turkey was connected to Africa. The three colors (Red, Green And Blue) on the map(3:00), is the time sequences of the land dividing. Check Peleg ...it was during his time.

  • The Urantia Book was first published in 1955 in English.

  • 33,000 years that must be a little hard for creationalists to swallow. I am a little confused as to were the figure of one million human beings comes from and when. Also the term Mediterranean, if this is a translation how was it based, was it just the word or were some kind of compass references used and how can these be said to be correct in today's terms?

  • The Urantia Book was first published in 1955 in English. There are no maps or diagrams that come with the original presentation of the material in the book, which claims a host of "angelic" authors. This is the apparent reason it is able to provide so much historic information before we have a chance to discover that knowledge for ourselves. No one claims to have written it. It is a free gift to humanity.

  • Could Cyprus be the land of Nod or possibly Atlantis?

  • Two tectonic plates converge in that area. Cyprus is on the northern one. The peninsula description fits what is on the southern tectonic plate. This is the strongest evidence suggesting that Cyprus was probably not part of Eden. In all likelihood, Cyprus rose up when the south plate slipped below the northern one. More research remains to be done on this subject.

  • It is, I'd like to see how they established the age of 33,000 years old.

  • I do not have any information either way to support the assertion that what we now see on the ocean floor between Cyprus and Syria sank 33,000 years ago. All we have is that the topography matches beautifully with the UB description (which could not have been known when the UB was published) and that it sits at the convergence of three highly active tectonic plates (tectonic plate theory developed about 10 years after the UB was published). I'm still working on the timing issue that you raise.

  • Thanks for admitting that. If you do some research it will become obvious these ages are purely assumption that are not scientifically supported. By the way plate tectonics is a result of the flood. Look at the mid atlantic ridge, that's where the flood started when the earths crust broke open.

  • With all do respect, if you will do some research at the ubthenews site, you will find documentation of the TREND that new discoveries and scientific advances are catching up to the Urantia Book. Sure, there are lots of things still inconsistent with science and this is important. But more interesting is that there are corroborations developing in areas where there used to be conflict and it is happening more quickly than we can document it. This is the point and this is the project.

  • To be honest I have no idea what the Urantia book is. Please give me some info about it, is it supposed to be real or fictional. Science is also catching up to the bible in many ways. There are many things in the bible we didn't discover until the latter half of the 20th century.

  • Thank you for asking. Of course, space is limited here for answering that question. But the UBtheNEWS website is all set up to give you a VERY efficient appreciation for what is going on. On the home page, in the left column a few sections down, you will find syllabus material that is used regularly in Denison University's World Religions class. It begins with a couple pages I wrote to give people a quick "heads up" about the book. This video is from presentation I did there. Enjoy!

  • I can find evidence of a real garden as described by the Chronicles of Narnia. That doesn't mean the underlying story is true.

  • If I understand your comment correctly, the important difference is this: The "evidence of a real garden as described by the Chronicles of Narnia" that you could find is evidence that anyone could have easily found before the Chronicles of Narnia were written. In contrast, the evidence paralleling what the Urantia Book says about the Garden of Eden did not exist when the Urantia Book was written.

  • It is, obviously, important to note that the Urantia Book is not consistent with a "literalist" interpretation of the Bible. However, those who are not literalists may find that the Urantia Book can offer an enhanced appreciation for and new insights into the Bible.

  • If you don't take the bible literally, then why are you looking for a garden of eden?

  • The Urantia Book sheds a lot of light on numerous religious traditions, but especially Judaism and Christianity. Just because something, like the Bible, is not considered an altogether accurate record--to be taken literally--does not keep it (as well as other documents) from being an historic and religious document of tremendous value. The cross correlations between the Bible and the Urantia Book are fascinating. People have already done a lot to document the comparisons for easy reference.

  • The Garden of Eden was in East Africa (Ithiopia), where anthropologists confirmed evidence indicates that Eve lived in Sub-Saharan Africa, between 80,000 and 200,000 years ago. These descendants began migrating from their original homeland, inhabiting the whole world. The biblical River "Gihon" (Gen. 2:13) is the Nile River, which splits off in 4. The other rivers were added to conceal the true Cradle of Civilization. Typical!

  • Your first assertion seems quite unsupportable--that a consensus exists in the anthropological community which justifies asserting that "anthropologists confirmed evidence" with respect to religious traditions about Eve. On the other, the comparisons that you bring up does cut to the heart of the issue. The African rivers could easily have been known about at time the Bible was written. Not so regarding the topography of the sea floor when the Urantia Book was published. That's the point!

  • Soooo

Are they saying cyprus is/was the garden

    Im thoroughly confused

  • It is the position of the UBtheNEWS project that Cyprus was not part of the Garden of Eden because 1) including it would create a size and shape for the peninsula that is inconsistent with the Urantia Book's description of a long narrow peninsula surrounded by mountains, and 2) the tectonic plates separate Cyprus from the rest of what would have been the peninsula. I understand that some people think Cyprus was a part of the peninsula. This video shows why Cyprus should not be included.

  • Unfortunately, the Mediterranean Ocean did not exist at that time. Best take a few courses in ancient geology.

  • The Urantia Book agrees that the Mediterranean Ocean did not exist in this area approximately 35,000 ago. In fact, it says that the lowering of the Sicilian land bridge to Africa is in part what was responsible for the geologic changes that involved the sinking of the Edenic peninsula. Obviously, if we're talking about extensive flooding being involved with the changes (and not involving the Straight of Gibraltar), it all looked rather different back then.

  • Wow! Powerful! Atlantis!!!

  • Glad to see th eU.B is becoming required reading material at our Universities.

  • This geological support and the University of Chicago human genome study are compelling support for this accelerating phenomena in our life time. Great material for the open minded seekers of truth that is very well organized by Hal.

  • Very interesting subject

  • An interesting presentation of a possible proof of the scientific validity of the Urantia books description of the garden of Eden and it's sinking 33,000 years ago.
