  • The music symbolizes human hate, love, suffering, will to live and most necessary of all compassion. Thanks for sharing

  • The tuth dehind vasily zaitzev? Tania, in an ground-mine explosion tought Vasily was death, so left himself there. Years after, found that vasily was alive, married with another girl, workin, blind, in a factory. (Book-> The battle of stalingrad)(Sry about my bad english xD)

  • @scottextaicho truth behind*

  • you are correct , I wanted to listen t the music

but the pictures surprised me and they are amazing and full of pain

  • Russia grande paese,terra d'eroi.

  • STALINGRAD!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Vassili Zaitsev is my hero!

    por la madre rusia!

  • for mother russia!

  • long live rad army!!!

  • They fought for the world these men, freedom bought in blood to the last drop. Highest casualties of WW-II. Full respect for they who pushed forward against all odds, "No retreat! No surrender! For Mother Russia!"

  • at about 3:45 when they start into voices, amazing!

  • Thought I'd say every army in WWII committed atrocities. But it was mainly the two LEADER And higher upS of Russia and Germany. Both slaughtered millions of innocents. Sad that people like Hitler Goerring and Stalin and Kruschev stain the name of people like Rommel ( forced service or his family died. ) and Vassili.

  • @ChevTemplar Your thesis is largely correct; however, Rommel was largely overated and, as well, a virtual toad to Hitler, until he saw the writing on the wall. He was essentially Germany's recruitment poster and kept out of Russia because his inevitable defeats there would have dEterred his "star quality." Stalin, Hitler and other of the leaders were as you say. Khrushchev though was a different cat. He later developed into a fine and far sighted leader..

  • The war of honour of Russians. I am also a soldier in Turkish army. many similarities between the histories of the 2 nations

  • FPS RUSSIA is Vassili Zaitsev's Grandson

  • Eternal Glory for Allies! God Bless sniper Vassili Zaitsev! And No one bash Americans-Their the comrades. So God Bless U.S. sniper Frank Kviatek too who KILLED 56 Germans to avenge the deaths of his little brothers! This was a sacred war for all allied Armies!

  • @SashaVedernikov I'm sorry, but the US are also Fascists..

  • @boyrichboy well today their Government is as are all major Governments who are pushing a new world order on us. But back in the war American soldiers were good boys fighting a rightous cause too

  • “A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.

  • @chicagocubsforever i saw them too

  • I noticed at least maybe 3 or 4 pics that weren't from Stalingrad

  • Does anyone know what the name of the song is when Vasily Zaitsev sees Tania in the hospital bed at the end of the film? It sounds like 1:45 in this video but I cannot find the exact version. If you would be able to tell me I would appreciate it very much.

  • Arguing on YT is pretty dumb. What can't be argued here is that many good men on all sides lost their lives for what they believed in in this war, I show my respect for those that sacrificed everything in war on all sides. Respect for the fallen and those that served.

  • This song makes me think of the countless people that where killed in Russia and Eastern Europe. It was probably the second or first biggest theatre in World War 2. God Rest their souls

    From France

  • @SpyWizard2 It was the largest by far - 80% of the german casualties and at least 20 million deaths.

  • 3. North America did not want to involve themselves in war but eventually helped once the allied troops in Europe were attacked. Only makes logical sense since they were not under a direct threat of attack (until Pearl Harbor)

  • @TheBroadMinded I'm sorry but Canada went to war in September of 1939, two days after Britiain declared war. As we all know America declared war after Pearl Harbour, December 7, 1941; later Mexico declared war on Germany in 1942 after some of their oil tankers were sunk by U-boats. The other smaller nations of North America were all affected in some way by the war either physically, metally, spiritually, socially, politically or economically.

  • Here is the summary of all valid points from the numerous arguments below so that ppl don't have to read:

    1. Soviets were attacked by Nazi's, stood their ground, lost millions of lives and eventually pushed Nazi's back at Stalingrad all the way to Germany.

    2. A large number of German Nazi's did not understand or were completely oblivious to Hitler's plans. There was also a high degree of social conformity which prevented the few from speaking out and getting a following against Hitler.

  • cant wait until 2045 when the records of all soldiers from ww2 are released from holding. hopefully then we will find out if so many of the german aces were real

  • 8 people were shot by Major Konig

  • Ha, so you people call Americans ignorant when you yourselves are ignorantly implying that Stalin was the one who planned the big battles. General Zhukov and all the other generals/officers get hardly any recognition for the tactical planning side of the Soviet Union's contribution to the war.

Stalin made sure that he get all the credit after the war, he even exiled Zhukov from Moscow after he thought that Zhukov took the spotlight when Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower was touring the Soviet Union.

  • Lots of people here comment on how Americans (mostly) are ignorant on how much the Soviet Union contributed to the war (a BIG CONTRIBUTION, without them I don't think the war would have been won against Germany), yet they always praise Stalin on how he "saved" the country with his "tactical ingenuity".

    *Continued*

  • Lol arguing as if it makes a difference to anything.

  • Love this track

  • Vassili Zaitsev (V. Zaycev) was later elevated to the rank of hero of soviet union. he was best sniper of soviet union.

  • @ekekiladze actually i don't beleive he was the BEST depending on how you define the best he didn't serve longest and didn't get the most kills BUT he did have the biggest impact on morale for both sides and was the most inspiring, he taught many snipers and he helped turn the tide.

  • @ekekiladze No, the best ever sniper is a Ivan Mikhailovich Sidorenko, he killed from Mosin rifle over 500 Nazis, and he has trained for the Red Army over 250 snipers ...

  • @ekekiladze Fyodor Okhlopkov begs to differ

vassili was the 4th best sniper in the soviet union he just had a better more romantic story then the others.

  • @ekekiladze Indeed. Im traveling from New York to Volgograd just to visit the museum to see his rifle. Hes my role model.

  • I'm British and I'm ashamed at my country's failure in controlling Nazi Germany's policy of appeasement. The Battle of Stalingrad was a massacre and I hope this never happens again to mankind. RIP brave comrades <3

  • the pic at 12 seconds isnt Stalingrad, its berlin

  • @88hutcho yeah i know ive played cod world at war :)

  • Anyone else reminded of the Schindler's List theme?

  • @Shatnerpossum indeed i did, but some parts of this one

  • A lot of those pictures are not from the battle of Stalingrad. One is from Berlin 1945, another is of a German soldier in the Ardennes, there were no Panther tanks at Stalingrad, etc etc.

  • A lot of those pictures are not from the battle of Stalingrad. One is from Berlin 145, another is of a German soldier in the Ardennes, there were no Panther tanks at Stalingrad, etc etc.

  • Among all the music only this one truly represents the reality of the Soviet Great Patriotic War: greatest number of lives lost, greatest sorrow of the motherland, greatest courage of the soldiers and civilians and the greatest victory ever in the 20th Century

  • @makpistol...lol hmm wont even go there your a fuckin idiot..nuff said

  • my grand father was a soldier in the soviet army he protected moscow when the germans atacked died in 1943 in Moldova, he died during the atack on the city Balti, he is a true hero, not like the americans at normandy

  • @makpistol

Americans at Normandy were not cowards, they were simply lucky

  • love this song

  • No matter how one human being to be subdued, not the situation at the end what remains is instinct! this is fact.

  • Not to be a troll, but just for future reference: the picture at :15 was taken atop the Reichstag in Berlin Germany. I personally think it's more inspirational then the Iwo Jima picture...

  • ive had this song in a constant playlist since 2:20 pm and its 9:48 and the song is still playing in the house....

  • Ki az a 7 hülye akinek nem tetszik?

Gratulálok nekik ; biztos jó izlésük lehet!

  • Amazing

    Love russian tunes

  • they way the soviet union treated thier soldiers ,in the movie, was absolutely disgusting

  • @bolatluver29 either that or they the entire Soviet Union would have perished at the hands of the Nazis. The entire course of history could have been changed. Comrade Stalin did the only and right thing, to save his people. From a utilitarian stand point, the ends justifies the means.

  • @bolatluver29 I know but in the beginning, it is very pathetic because the story shows cowardliness but actually, the russians fought bravely and heroically. There weren't that many traitors

  • @bolatluver29 It was horrific, even if it was patriotic at times, but thats what you get with communism.

  • @bolatluver29 That's war. The Germans were set on exterminating Russians over a ridiculous theory that a Zionist conspiracy was originating from Moscow. The Germans came in and massacred entire cities during Barbarossa. Unlike the position the United States had in the war, if you were a Russia, and you didn't fight, you were bound to get sent to Nazi camps later. That was the unfortunate reality they, the Soviets, had to deal with.

  • @bolatluver29 It was the truth. They had to reinforce their "not one step back" ideal; if not by inspiration then by terror. Most of the Russian soldiers weren't psychologically or physically trained to be at war, they had to 'learn the ropes' while in battle, that's if they didn't get killed first. They had to hold Stalingrad at all costs, it was definitely the most important and bloodiest battle of WWII (and probably of all time).

  • * black or white of course.

  • I love this theme ^^

  • THIS MAKES ME WANT TO CRY FOR THE RUSSIANS WHO NEVER WENT HOME TO LOVED ONES!!!!!!!!!!

  • This music makes me cry alot, i wanted to learn about history so the heroes of the Soviet Union may never be forgotten. They're brave men will try anything to keep the fascist invaders out of their soil.

  • @nobler09 NOW, YOU UNDERSTAND WHY I LOVE RUSSIA AND THIER HISTORY.

  • @2massiah75 Do you also know about war crimes of Russians? Katyň for example..? Heroes were the peoples who were FORCED to let themselves killed just because their leaders were idiots with poor tactic knowledges or anything (so not peoples like Stalin), and by the way-it was Soviet Union, not Russia. That means also Ukrainans peoples and other countries were involved even though some of them really wont be under Red Army. But they did not have choice. Nothing is just black and white, note that..

  • @nobler09 thank you, for understanding why i love their country

  • long live brave nazis , in memory of wehrmacht . . .

  • Why does something like this turn into an american bashing page? Its a song from a movie made to commemorate brave Soviet soldiers who fought hard to fight the Nazi Regime. There is no need to say that America and Britain should not have any credit or weren't needed. The fact of the matter is that all sides fought bravely and made many sacrifices, including the German Army. People such as the ones commenting, are the reason things like this ever happened.

  • @ReapersSprint

Of course the Soviet have fought hard to fight the Nazi regime, Hitler have gave the order to invade the Soviet Union because he hate the communist.

  • This song reminds me of schindler's list!!

  • 1:18 sounds like a part in braveheart , right before wallace gets he's head chopped off

  • After reading every single secret in a life time of secrets i realized that i have an utterly brilliant life, and i'm going to start appreciating it

  • everyone argues political idealoigies can't you just watch this for what it is? an amazeing song and a tirbute to the soldiers of the eastern front it has nothing to do if they were german or russian they were all pawns at the hands of politics they as well as truth were victims of war.

  • Are they using a Balalaika in this song?

  • @USteenSports

    Yep!

  • @USteenSports Its hard 2 get 1 of these instruments in holland, but i realy like the sound of it. And im a great lover of russian history so will Stalingrad:( peace for every fallen soldier during the battle.

  • at 0,29 , there is a Romanian Soldier at machinegun....

  • When I listen to this music, makes me want to fight in war with my brave man.

  • Very dramatic. Perfect for this movie.

  • Soviets raped and pillaged Germany as they went! I mean the Germans did horrific crimes too but nobody was good. Nobody was bad. That's the way of war.

Im so proud being English though. The best country in the world.

  • @MaxcalderB England, the same county that raped and pillaged 3/4 of the globe..

  • @MaxcalderB History is written by the victor. What happened to America dropping atomic bombs over Japan? Nothing. In reality, war is terrible. Both sides commit war crimes. The only difference is that when a faction is victorious, the losing faction is made into cowards and criminals, while the victors are praised as heroes. Long live Britain, long live all countries of the world. =)

  • I'll say a few words of this movie:

It had a decent storyline and at least got people aware of the Eastern Front, the signifigance of Stlaingrad, and the amount of soldiers lost to the war.

It had its bad points too. It depicted all soldiers as unequipped, conscripted, and rather untrained men, incompetent and often sadistic officers, autrocious historical inaccuracies, and a giant middle finger to Communists at several points as well as blatant insults to former Red Army personnel.

  • @Nitocolus Amazingly, I still find this movie to be one of my favourite war films of all time and I highly recommend it; but please don't take this movie as complete fact; actually, I think it's more like 30-60% accurate, so study up if it really interests anyone that much.

Final words: this video is very nice and the music is brilliant; gotta love that composer.

  • @Nitocolus Well, we must agree on the fact that the Red Army was still not as much trained as the Germans. And we must also agree on the fact that they used massed infantry techniques. But let's not forget D-Day. Didn't Britain and America use the same massed infantry techniques?

  • @Parham1995 True, and let's not forget that Patton sacrificed troops and Churchill sacrificed civilians, though the latter I'm sure was unavidable.

  • @Nitocolus Exactly! Governments can be hypocrites, eh?

  • @Parham1995 Sad, but true. Still, everyone wants to fight for something, deep down, regardless of how corrupted the ideals for it have become. That's why every society under every regime has at least a few dozen willing soldiers under it. Sad, but true.

  • @Nitocolus It is these ideals that can shape the world, or destroy it. Unfortunately, politicians come up with the most destructive ones. They then masquerade it via a constructive one. If only things were the other way around. =/

  • @Parham1995 Well, when the ideals are thought up they are constructive. Unfortunately Leaders will fuck the ideals up for profi. Still, every once and awhile there's that one leader that does good. Very rare.

  • @Nitocolus Yes, but that ideal is only good for that specific country, instead of the whole world.

  • @Parham1995 Or a certain period of time. Politics are always so specific but once given power they all revert into the same system inevitably: Imperialism.

  • @Nitocolus True that, mate. True that. =/

  • This sounds like the soundtrack for Schindlers list.

  • Oh and the Japanese soldiers to and the Italian soldier to.

I mean even they where the axis powers but they are still humans with the same emotions of the Allied troops.

Just watch Stalingrad and Letters from Iwo Jima.

  • Rest in Peace all victims, soldiers and even the German soldiers who died for the greed and lies of the leading people.

  • The Final Battle In This War Is The Battle Against Capitalism.

It Will Only End In Soviet Victory!

  • honor and glory to those died during world war 2,my grand father died in 1943 on the eastern front he was a soviet soldier

  • @Slotfan1 Very nice put, i couldn't say it better my self.

  • Hauntingly beautiful!

  • How am I contradicting myself? Everything has it limitations, and even greatness can be overcome.

  • @kakky231 In addtion I would like you to read up on the Eastern Front, as well as the Soviet Union before I make any further replies to you. Do not however, read western propaganda. Try finding something written by a Russian, or someone of the former USSR. The only author of the west I want to recommend is Anthony Beevor and his books "Stalingrad" and "Berlin: The Downfall 1945".

If you're bold, take a trip to Russia. It's an amazing country, and I think it would open your eyes a lot. Mine did.

  • @kakky231 What you also need to understand is that the US was in no way capable of fighting a two war front, just in the same way the Germans were in Europe. With the Japanese invading in the west and the Germans, Italians and Austrians as well as all their other allied nations coming from the East the US in 1940 would have crumbled rapidly.

So don't come here saying the Soviet Union didn't save the US. Because it did. It saved us all. Germans are terrible warriors, make no mistake.

  • @Slotfan1

Terrible warriors? No. You contradict yourself, because earlier you said that they were able to maintain a two front war. Not easy to do that. I will tell you that. They were brave warriors. I don't mean the SS in concentration camps, but the average Wehrmacht. However, what you say is true, the Soviet Union did save the U.S indirectly. Just to keep any biases from clouding your judgement, I am Jewish, so do not assume I am a Fascist.

  • @Astrowater i think with terrible warriors he doesnt mean bad warriors. I think he mean with terrible the tons or warcrimes and the fanatic by german soldiers. In 1945 they still thought that they win the war.

  • @klinge1993

    I see.

  • @kakky231 I'd also like you to know that if the Soviets hadn't beaten approximately 90% of the Axis forces in Europe (they don't teach you those figures in western schools) Great Britain would have been easily overrun. Hitler had some serious priority issues. If someone sensible was in command he/she wouldn't have attacked the Soviet Union at all, seeing that, that is a war that cannot be won.

With Great Britain beaten, the Nazis would have stood ready and able to invade the eastern US.

  • @kakky231 Despite you being an obvious troll, I will still reply to you. Got 7 minutes to fill before I head of to work anyway.

What I meant by "money has overruled the truth" is that the capitalist system is making governments all over Western Europe and America into something that hides the fact that a different political system did something great to save their own arses. And is at the root of all this? The desire to make money. I'd explain in detail, but Youtube keeps limiting my comments.

  • Good music, Good war time images, Good video!

    3A CCCP!

  • usa = fail

  • "when I listen to this music I just want to ignore everything in life and just die. I feel like dying is the best solution to a stressful life but I have this feeling only when i listen to this music."

Yeah we want you to die too homo-jack.

  • The Russians were animals !

    Raping women and pillaging Germany.

Stalin was the most evil man ever.

  • @MaxcalderB You're hell-raisers and a freak. Attack on Russia and the monstrous crime of the Germans a not amenable to comprehension. Germans - a beast that came to kill, this is not a war. Russian for it should be wipe out Germany. In the Russian prisons died 70K Germans captives(from 9mln) in the Anglo-American died 350K Germans captives. We know your history. 130K of the Anglo-American army corps broke 10mln German army and divided Germany with the Russian occupiers. HOHOH...

  • @MaxcalderB a fair revenge for what the germans did!

  • so many political comments. enjoy the music and reflect on the sacrifices made by EVERY soldier that fought in the battle.

  • all wars are faught for money and power, america was swindled in to every war, pearl harbor was known about long before it happend. the gulf of tonka incident was a lie to get the people in to that war, the ship sunk by germens was sent to germen water deliberatley carrying explosives, even the ship sunk by the spanish was a lie, now they are fighting a war on terror, a global war that cant be won, wich is the point. they will take away all your liberties. have fun with a dictatorship americans.

  • nice mix!

  • The Panther at 0:37, this photo didn't made in Stalingrad.

  • This sound is just AMAZING, i love it .

  • We won of the fking nazi's.. Communism for life. Communists will always save the world also against the kapitalism..

  • My grandfather's brother fought at Stalingrad, and survived through the whole ordeal, albeit being crippled by the time the troops were returning. His comrades carried him for a while, but he saw that they were all tired, wounded and cold. So he told them to leave him behind, which they did. He was laid against a tree, in the snow and the rest marched on.

When talking about WW2, people always mention Jews, Germans and Russians and their death tolls, but they seem to forget about the others...

  • any1 know where i can get the pic at 0:23

  • @IRELANDSELITE or you can find them in a cool library an take a pic of it a book tat is related with heros of mother russia or somtng like that =)

  • only poeple who die see the end of war

  • "We have met the enemy, and he is us." beautifully done.

  • good sh*t man = )

  • The Soviet waririous in WW2 were ordinary people in the most part but not soldiers

  • when I listen to this music I just want to ignore everything in life and just die. I feel like dying is the best solution to a stressful life but I have this feeling only when i listen to this music.

  • @infidel94 lol

  • @infidel94 dying is a solution for your your problems but it's a problem to your family and friends

  • @infidel94 Happy thoughts dude happy thoughts ^_^

  • @infidel94 you have the same feeling too? it is so weird!! my thoughts just pause, thinking what it would be like to live in such time! it is so beautiful and overwhelming! strange life is! makes you wonder! life in the past and in the future and what lies behind life! hamidullah (Thank god in Arabic).

    peace!

  • @infidel94 wrong

  • @infidel94 You should probably stop listening to this music then.

  • @infidel94 you NEED JESUS to free you from you stress and depression dude.

  • @t47marine oh fuck off with you're fairy tale.

  • Some Men Are Born To Be Heroes.....lake Vassili Zaitsev

  • I have endless respect and compassion for the Soviet sacrifices in World War 2. Yet my sorrow can never be enough, for the west's unwillingness to acknowledge the disasters that happened in the east during 1941-1945. Money has overruled the truth, and I'm forced to live in a society where people live in bliss, unknowing of that they have 27 million dead Soviets to thank for their freedom. Instead they praise the Americans as their saviours.

Warrior's of the Soviet Union - I salute you.

  • @Slotfan1 you are absolutely right money overuled the truth they paint my nation to be a barbaric nation of drunks and evil leaders.

  • @Slotfan1 indeed.

  • @Slotfan1 I salute you for your knowledge!

  • @Slotfan1 the soldiers were great, the government were dicks, so if you have anyone to thank for soviet losse it was the government of russia not caring for its soldiers( who sends men to die unarmed?

  • @Slotfan1 What the hell are you talking about? "Money has overruled truth" ? That statement is nonsensical and has nothing at all to do with the rest of your comment. As for hating on American society, I think you'll find us alot friendlier than the Russians. Lastly 27 million Russians to thank for our freedom? The Soviets never helped America with anything. We saved them.

  • @kakky231 i don't know what your argueing about with the other lad but no they say they helped us and we say we helped them but either way you want to see it we couldn't have one without each other. They did reach berlin first though.

  • @flyingweasal007 The Russians never fought for American freedom. They fought only for themselves. Did they help us win the war? Yes, in the same sense that Japan helped us by getting us involved, and Churchill helped by not surrendering, even Germany helped us by betraying Russia in the first place. But we have nothing to thank Russia for.

  • @kakky231 maybe you don't have anything to thank them for but your still missing the point, what makes an american life better then a russian? they foguht just as hard and no america didn't fight for it's freedom it fought becuase of japan bombes peral harbor, germany didn't threaten americas freedom like it did russias, so no offense to any american soldiers who fought bravely but the russians had more to loose and had more casualties and stil made it to berlin first.

  • @Slotfan1 Fuck comunism Stalin and Soviet Union

  • @Slotfan1 ur absolutely ryt.... americans hv provided weapon to afagans to kill russian soldier,,,there americnas are the real cause of makng osama bin laden....they call chechen terrorist blody pigs as freedom fighters,

  • @deadman42002

Hey deadman42002, thank you for your support.

The Afghan war is another discussion, but yes, you are right. The Taliban are trained and equipped by the US. This war done to fight the Soviets during the late 70s and through the entire 80s. While I do not necessarily support armed revolution or forcing a political system upon someone, I do deem the American tactics in this case to be disgusting. The Chechen terrorists are terrorists, no doubt. I've spoken with people...next msg.

  • @deadman42002 ...from the Chechen region last time I was in Russia, and according to them the terrorists are an extremely small group of people who want independence. The majority of people in that region actually support the Russian Federation.

  • @Slotfan1 fucking communist deserve more !!

  • @Slotfan1 We did play a part the real reason is that stalin was very paranoid and he cut off the outside world for so many years it became a scary place you never really knew what it was like there. I salute our russian counterparts. We truely due owe our life to them for there sacrafices

  • @MythicMike89 Make no mistake, I hold no great love for Stalin. Yes, he and the rest of the communist party pulled the Soviet Union out of its backwardsness and turned it into an industrialised nation, yes they

  • @Slotfan1 agreed. i beleive america blinded itself, because of the political bs that was the "cold war". but it is undeniable, that the soviets gave all. thank you soviet union for helping take down our enemy. most of all, thank you, all soviet soldiers, and also a thank you, 27 million over.

  • @Slotfan1 Oh we have definitely acknowledged that Soviet soldiers made the largest sacrifice in that war. We just don't praise such an inefficient waste of human life (it's revolting). We can thank Hitler for ignoring his generals and Stalin for treating his people like sand bags. Hell if you pile enough dead soldiers in front of you who needs to dig a trench? It's not like it's the Russian peoples fault for being subjected to such harsh rule. Or is it?

  • @Slotfan1 I like that you are saying, but maybe if it was just the Russians fighting the Germans during ww2 instead of both them and the Americans, britians, french resistiance, then maybe the Russia might have had a greater chance of losing the war.

  • @Slotfan1 The Soviets were just as bad as the Nazi's. The world is a better place without both of them.

  • @sigmay584 but Americans are saints..lol

  • @sigmay584 Without Soviet or Nazi

You wouldnt have what you have today. Your a worthless who got no idea of history. Get out of here American.

  • @iHardStar Oh yeah, what would that be? What have these people done that has made the world a better place?
