This is exactly what's happening to me right now because the ear nose and throat doctors around here are NOT even giving me ear tube surgery WHEN THEY SHOULD. The fluid is forming behind my eardrums and remaining trapped there. Posing a health risk as well as making me lose more and more of my hearing. Like you said.

I have had T-Tubes put in when I was younger,I was scared before I went under never liked surgery or the thought of it.But they are out now and I was scared and worried that I'd need surgery to remove them,that's not the case.You just lay awake on the table and the doctor manually pulls them out without any discomfort.It may hurt a little when he puts the instrument in your ears to pull out the tubes but I got it done and was shocked that it was over within 5 minutes.So don't worry!

i have had it done 4 times, in my life. (i am 38) i had it done most recently, on 3/26...you are totally knocked out, under anesthesia....it doesn't hurt....however, when they remove the tube, it hurts like a bitch.

@sugerkat the tube should usually go off by itself and just drop from your ear to who knows where :p

@DragonSonOwner they came out on their own the 2nd and 3rd time...the 1st time i had it done, i was 11 and it was 1982. they manually removed them and it hurt like hell.
