3. The commercial with the best use of a celebrity was the Clint eastwood halftime skit. He was the perfect candidate for the commercial, the tone and music of the skit, fit him in perfectly.
2. The funniest commercial to me was the “Doritos crash the superbowl” skit. I think this because I just love Doritos and using the kids to portray infidelity with a bag of chips was just absurd.
1. The Best overall commercial for the superbowl I personally think was “Its halftime” by Clint eastwood. I chose that because it had an emotional side to it. The soft music playing in the backround made the game so much more than it was, but a lifestyle. The commercial shot images of families, and babies and fathers with their sons, to further add that emotional spin to it, but it portrays the audience of who watches the game.
The dumbest commercial was the Cars.com commercial. His “confidence” was showing, but it just was a creepy little head that came out of his back. I think it would have been more effective if they used a dwarf or something to that nature. The creepy small head reminded me of the alien from Men and Black. I don’t know if that was the point because they’re supposedly making another Men in Black movie. But It wasn’t funny it was weird&it makes me think of a movie rather than cars.com.
The commercial with Elton John and flavor flav at the beginning seemed good because it was entertaining, but it wasn’t effective because I can’t remember what the commercial was for. (I just want to say, I couldn’t; hear the Betty White commercial because there were people talking. So it may have been very good I just didn’t get to see.)
I think the Time Warner commercial was the biggest waste. They had a few celebrities and a doomsday theme but I guess because I’m so unfavorable toward Time Warner I didn’t appreciate it. I felt like they had too much irrelevant things going on when they should just be showing me how they’re going to improve rather than what they can offer.
The Chevy sonic was kind of edgy but I wasn’t really impressed. The stunts were kind of cool, but I guess because I’m not a target audience/market for Chevy it didn’t really appeal to me. There was a scene in another commercial that I thought was really edgy but I can’t remember what the commercial was for so, it must have not been effective.
I think the Bud Light “Here We Go” Dog commercial was cute and entertaining and funny. It was awesome how much everyone loved the dog and how he got them beer on command. It was also great that they partnered with a rescuing dos place. However I thought the naked M&M commercial was just as funny. The red M&M has always been the silly, wild one, so him getting naked or “exposing his chocolate” was amusing.
I honestly don’t think there was an effective commercial. I do however think Budweiser had the most effective campaign. I don’t drink beer, but I think the simple fact that they had about 3 commercials would make a Budweiser drinker keep wanting more Bud. Secondly, although they commercials didn’t make me want to drink it I thought they were good. They had classic horses, but as a silent film, a “Budweiser through the decades” and a partnership with GE.
6. The dumbest one would be the “Toyota Camry It's Reinvented.” The reinventions after the reinvention of the Toyota Camry are very creatively dumb. I only found the reinvented couch and police officer are funny. But the rest are dumb especially the pizza curtains which are very gross. It does not show what’s good about the reinvented Camry.
2. The funniest one is “Chevy Happy Grad” because of the facial expressions of the parents, the son and his friends, and their neighbor. I think it is very smart of them making the car very stand out in the commercial.
1. I think the best overall commercial in this Superbowl was “M&M Sexy and I Know It.”
This song “Sexy and I Know It” by LMFAO is featured in this commercial. It gets attention and leaves a deep impression when the red m&m dances like the original music video. It is funny, interesting, and suitable for both kids and adults. As soon as i saw this commercial, I posted it on Facebook.
Question #6 I thought the dumbest commercial was the Chevy commercial. It didn’t really make sense as to why everything around them was coming to an end. What was also kind of out of place was the Twinkies at the end. That had nothing to do with the Chevy or the meaning of the commercial.
Question #5 The best use of a celebrity in a commercial was definitely the H&M commercial. David Beckham, MLS champion winner, just released a line of under garments with H&M. The commercial featured him standing there in his under garments with his amazing artwork, his tattoos, and his perfectly sculpted body. I think it was the most effective because all the girls who were in the room were clapping and screaming off the top of their lungs.
I thought the funniest commercial was the Oikos yogurt commercial. It just so happened to use a celebrity as well with John Stamos, but it was still funny. In the commercial he is teasing the girl next to him with the Oikos yogurt but when she finally had enough she head-butted him. I thought what made it even better was that the commercial had no dialogue, but the point was made clear along with some humor.
The funniest commercial was the “Happy Grad” Chevy commercial. It was overall funny commercial, while not losing focus of what the product was. The Chevy was in the commercial the whole time and it was presented as being very desirable. You do not have to be a parent or a graduate to think this commercial is funny. I was in a room of many adults in their 50’s and 60’s as well as teens, and they all thought the same.

The best use of a celebrity was of course the David Beckham for H&M commercial. This commercial very easily appealed to both men, who will wear and buy the product, and women, who can buy the product for the man in their life. This ad also stayed true to its advertising style. H&M is known for taking on celebrity endorsements, and running simple, clean ads.
1. I enjoyed the Dorito spot where the dog bribed the man. I thought it had humor and it was short and to the point.
2. The funniest commercial was the M&M spot. Nobody really considers mm's as sexy so it was a fun way just to reinforce their product
All of the Coke commercials seemed to be a waste to me. Most of the time when they came on everybody in the party ignored or was confused about the commercial.
Question #6: The dumbest commercial was the Toyota “Its Reinvented” one. This is the dumbest commercial simply because the advertisement had nothing to do with the new car by Toyota. The car was only shown at the beginning and it seemed as though the ad was trying to promote everything else but the car.
Question #5: The best use of a celebrity in a commercial was the Acura “Transactions: 2012 NSX” one. The use of Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno was perfect for this Ad since they are both huge car fanatics/collectors. By having Jerry S. & J Leno indorse a car is saying a lot and would make people want to check it out. They also made the advertisement funny, while at the same time making the car really important since they both wanted it badly. It gave the new car a unique feeling.
Question #1: The most affective commercial was the Bud Light Platinum “Factory”. This was the most affective commercial because it clearly got the message across of that Bud Light was trying to promote. It introduced the new type of beer and made it seem different and standout from the rest of beers that are currently available. The Ad made the brand seem high class yet casual and cool. Even if you were not a beer drinker this Ad would make you want to try the beer.
The H&M David Beckham commercial had the best use of a celebrity. H&M is an inexpensive line and associating the brand with his caliber of celebrity, appeals to many. People like to dress like celebrities and when it’s affordable it’s even better.
I enjoyed the Doritos commercial when the dog killed the cat and he bribed the man to keep his mouth shut. It was a short simple commercial yet, entertaining. At times, those are the most effective. I had not seen a commercial like that before. They also used animals which gives a bonus appealing factor.
The Coke commercials were a waste of money. It was not innovative or entertaining. They did not introduce the Polar Bears in a new or exciting way. They could have saved their 3 mil.
4 Biggest waste had to be the Acura Nsx commercial, the car is gorgeous and practically sells itself since it is already hugely hyped but the commercial had nothing to do with the product, just a waste. couldve been for any car.
5 Best use of a celebrity seems to be that Oikos Yogurt with John Stamos, It was subtle surprising and not shameless celebrity plug.
6 Dumbest commercial was TaxActt hands down, kinda gross and just pointless. had literally nothing to do with the brand.
1 Best commercial hands down for my party was the Avengers Trailer. My friends all fell silent and the one holding the remote even rewound the live show to watch it over and over again, but again we are biased.
2 funniest commercial had to be the Doritos slingshot, the entire room was laughing and cheering and one friend even went to the kitchen to grab a bag of doritos, instant sell.
3 Edgiest comercial had to be that stupid david beckham spot which is already garnering animosity.
The edgiest commercial for me which I also happened to find very amusing was the Chevy Silverado Truck commercial. It depicts the end of the world events (which is edgy in itself bc rumor has it the world ends in 2012) but I also found it edge bc the lines being said involve a direct hit to their biggest competitor – Ford. The guy says “Where’s Dave?” “Dave doesn’t drive the longest most fuel efficient driving truck on the planet, he drives a Ford”. (Now Ford is protesting).
My next answer may very well be because of my bias to David Beckham, but I think he was the best use of a celebrity and had the most effective spot. I was ready and willing to buy mens briefs the second the commercial was over. I guess keep the old saying going “sex sells”.
There were a ton of great commercials and of course the throw-ins that make you say "What were they thinking?"
The funniest commercial for me was the Fiat commercial. the Fiat spot was clever and I had no idea that it was going to be for that product. Although I should have picked up on it, the model has the Fiat scorpion on her neck. The commercial kept me interested with the clever twist to go from smooth & seductive to a good laugh.
Funniest Commercial - Dannon Commercial . In this commercial John Stamos was teasing his girlfriend or wife with the yogurt over and over again, until she head butted him off his seat so she could enjoy the yogurt. I found that to be pretty funny.
Best Commercial - The Bud Light Rescue Dog. This commercial had an emotional appeal that could relate to everybody. The commercial scene is a typical party where the rescue dog brings each person a bud light. I saw this commercial in a big crowd and there were a mix of "aw's" and laughs. Many people love dogs and love bud light. At the end of the commercial the dog pushes a cooler in front of your view telling you to visit the website to rescue dogs.Good use of integrated brand promotion
Waste of Money - Chevy Sonic. I feel that this commercial was to over the top. Chevy showcases the car doing a number of stunts and tricks that had to of cost a good amount of money to produce. Then add on the cost to get a superbowl spot this was a waste. The commercial does not make me want to purchase the car. I hardly even have an idea of what the car truly does.
The best celebrity one however was the “It’s Halftime in America – Chrysler” commercial with Clint Eastwood. This one was the best because of the speech and how it was delivered. Clint was a perfect choice because only he can deliver that speech the way it is supposed to be delivered and his voice is inspiring. The dumbest commercial by far was the “Coke’s Polar Bears” because they are just played out. At least Pepsi tried to be new and fresh.
- The most effective commercial was the 2012 Chevy Silverado as it plays off the fear of 2012 which is current and in peoples mind more than we think.
- The funniest commercial was the Doritos "you aint seen nuthin" spot as it stayed true to humorous Dorito's style (dog, baby etc in funny situation)
- The edgiest commercial was the reinvented Toyota spot as it doesn't really say anything about the new Camry, other than that its reinvented, but the commercial is still...special.
The biggest waste of money was probably the “King’s Court – Pepsi” commercial because of all the celebrities they had to pay and the length of the commercial. I think they could have delivered the same message in a shorter amount of time, and with out celebrities.
The edgiest was probably the “Reinvented – Toyota Camry” commercial. It was edgy because it started out with a couch made up of sexy women and then moved to a poopless baby, the randomness was what made it so edgy, and the fact that it really didn’t have anything to do with the new Camry.
The best overall commercial would have to be the “Performance Basketball – Bridgestone” commercial because it really showed off the product and its USP, and the sleeping baby test was very amuzing. The funniest commercial was the “Chevy Silverado- End of the World” commercial. The overall look and feel of the commercial was very well put together. I liked the reference to the end of the world because its 2012, and I like the way they made fun of ford. The song, the dog did it for me.
best overall: Budweiser's prohibition commercial was the best. It showed how Bud has been a staple of beer (and parties) forever. biggest waste of money: I would probably say Coke's polar bears take the cake here. I know people love the polar bears and they are extremely iconic, but I think the spots had way more potential and fell short. funniest: I'm going to go with the Chevy commercial with the kid screaming for this one. It was a hilarious depiction of a kid thinking he got a new car.
Funniest: the M&M commercial, where the red M&M takes his covering off, because he thinks the brown M&M is naked and wants to join in in the party, it was clever and funny the way he started dancing once he took off his clothes it gave me a good laugh. Celebrity: David Beckham modeling the boxers women find it sexy cause he's attractive plus his boxers are affordable for boyfriends. Best overall: Clint Eastwood halftime speech about Americans; inspiring and motivational for the change we need
best comercial-pepsi with elton john and flavor flave, the fiat commercial with the italian speaking girl was greatt too. the voice commercial and the nfl fantasy with the guy in bathtub filled with gold had the best use of music, the funniest was the budlight with the dog running back and forth. waste of money was coke with the polar bears. chevy camaro was a good car commercial. hyundai spent the most money with their constant commercials. century 21 with donald trump was effective.
3. Celebrity: David Beckham boxers commercial for H&M because it was for something so simple and inexpensive at a place where many people are found to be shopping. People like when it’s affordable to be able to dress or “look” like a famous person who has such a strong image.
2. Edgiest: Fiat 500, I think it just complexly pushed the envelope with the whole idea. I thought maybe it was even to racey to be putting on TV, but I think it’s good that they did because it shows they aren’t afraid of the attention and actually I think drew more attention and make people wonder why they did what they did and want to learn more about the car.
1. Innovative: The new Chevy car because it took the car commercials to a new level I felt like and it related it back to peoples life and things we like to do and made it seem like they were so much simpler or easier just by having this car. It stood out from the other car commercials who stay very classic and this one took it to the next level and brought the care more “to life.”
The biggest waste of money was the Time Warner commercial. They had special effects that I believe they could’ve done with out. I believe that Time Warner is a horrible internet provider in general, so any commercial of them trying to convince otherwise is a waste of money.
The best use of a celebrity was the Acura commercial. They used Jerry Seinfeld, who is a know car collector, to try and persuade the original buyer to letting him by the car instead by bribing him with gifts. When the original buyer finally gives in, Jay Leno, who is also a famously known car collector, one ups Jerry and takes the car. I thought it was a good use of celebrities because both are know to be interested in car collecting and it shows that the Acura is a special car.
I believe that the dumbest commercial was the Go Daddy commercial. Like Xavier said, they’ve been using the same campaign to try to reel people in with beautiful women. I believe that their commercials are distasteful and say very little about their actual product.
The funniest commercial was the Samsung commercial. It was also the edgiest for taking shots at Apple. It also showed the phone's capabilities clearly in the ad which is always a plus. It has my vote for the best commercial in the superbowl.- Andy Maxis
4.The TAXAct commercial with the boy peeing in the pool seems to me like it was a waste of money, or at least a misstep for the company. Their tagline was a good idea, but I think that fact that they equated their services with urine & peeing in a pool is less than complimentary.
3. I found the Toyota “Reinvented” commercial to be pretty edgy. Rather than just showing a couch full of scantily clad ladies, which would be a typical Super Bowl tactic, they made a point of showing the same thing but with scantily clad men, which didn't seen to bother the viewer in the commercial.
5. I think the Hulu ad with Will Arnett was the best use of a celebrity. He has a very recognizable voice from his many tv shows and voice over work, and I think the fact that they had him saying lines from his old roles was a good fit for an on demand television service.
6. I didn't care for the Doritos commercial with the baby in the slingshot. I thought it could have been a cute concept, but the execution was poorly done and looked very fake, which was distracting.
1. I thought the Volkswagen commercial with the dog getting in shape to chase the car was cute and effective. I also liked the nod at the end to their commercial from last Super Bowl, which was one of the most talked about spots of the year.
2. M&Ms always has inventive spots that use their famous talking M&Ms, but I especially laughed at their Super Bowl ad featuring the new brown m&m. They are such a recognizable brand that it's okay for them to take a fun approach to reinforce their presence
4. Honda Crv "Bueller" - I believe they made a good attempt but dropped the ball. The movie is a classic and hilarious. But this commercial was not as funny, could of done a better job
5. Acura for the NSX. Jay Leno and Seinfeld are both huge car fans. Acura displayed them both in their element bidding for a car that is to be released.
6. Tax Act - didn't really get what a kid peeing in a pool has to do with Taxes... Relief? I guess
1. The best overall commercial to me was the one for the Volkswagon Beetle. It was a continuation of last years star wars theme. It incorporated the young kid "Darth Vader" from last years commercial.
2. The funniest commercial was the M&M's spot. It was trying to be racy but there is no way an M&M can be sexy, so it was funny to see the M&M stripping.
3. The edgiest commercial was the Fiat spot. It had the real hot girl seducing the guy, but in reality it was the Fiat in front of him.
5. David Beckham was the best celebrity endorsement.David is every girl’s “dream man” and to see him in wearing almost nothing is definitely eye catching.I think it was smart to target this Ad towards women as well because it influences women to buy their significant others under garments. People always want to look and feel their best about themselves and they want the men to feel as sexy and confident as David from the moment they purchase these briefs.
3. The Fiat Abarth commercial was the most edgy. To be honest I had no idea what brand/company the commercial was for until the end of the spot. The only thing I remember from the commercial is the “seductiveness” and how risqué it was, I do not think of Fiat when I see that commercial.
2. The M&M commercial was the funniest. It was a different take on candy and the “naked” scene fit perfectly with the brand and as usual they always create humorous and witty concepts.
3. Which commercial was the best use of a celebrity?
I personally believe the commercial with John Stamos for Oikos Greek Yogurt was the best use of a celebrity. John Stamos attracted a lot of attention to the commercial because he had not been seen in a long time. Additionally, growing up, Full House, was my favorite television show so him being a star from Full House caught my attention.
The commercial for the Fiat car brand seemed like the edgiest one to me. It was a little confusing in the beginning with a random lady not speaking in English but yelling at this guy who is not understanding. This commercial was the true definition for “sex sells.” The woman is bent over in the beginning of the commercial and then she takes the foam from the coffee and drops it on herself before putting it on the man’s lips.
1. Which was the best overall commercial in this Superbowl?
The best overall commercial was the advertising for the Honda CR-V starring Matthew Broderick. This commercial automatically caught everyone’s attention. Beginning with the same music as in the film starring Matthew Broderick called Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. The entire commercial summed up very comical parts of the movie. My entire family and I enjoyed this commercial very much!
The funniest commercial was the Doritos commercial because it was simply entertaining. I think everyone in our house was laughing and a few of my friends even said they wanted Doritos right after that. Ad successful.
The dumbest commercial was the Meta-Life commercial. It was too confusing. Cartoons were everywhere and the central point of the message was not clear.
Question #4: In my opinion the commercial that was the biggest waste of money was the “go daddy.com” commercial. I believe this was the biggest waste in money because the message in the commercial did not differ from any of the other go daddy commercials. The theme and message was the exact same as all of its other commercials. The commercial did not explain what godaddy.com was/is and I do not think it captured an audience. The commercial was predictable from start to end. $3+ mill in waste
Question #3: The Edgiest commercial was the KIA advertisement with Adriana Lima. I would say this was the edgiest because of how almost all of the women in the commercial where only dressed in bikinis. Like other advertisements that we have discussed, this Ad could offend people because of the representation of women in it. However I do not think that the commercial was bad. The advertisement was directed toward men and I think that KIA did a good job at getting the attention of most men
Question #2: The funniest commercial in my opinion was the “M&M Sexy and I Know it” commercial. I found this commercial to be the funniest because of the song and how it related to the message about the milk chocolate. Although its effectiveness can be question I do believe most people got a laugh out of the commercial.
One of the best use of celebrities was with the Bridgestone commercial with Troy Aikmen and Dieon Sanders, since it was the Superbowl, football celebrities was appropriate. The commercial wasn't that bad either with the off-spiraling football that curved through defenders and stays on course like their tires are suppose to do.
The biggest waste of money had to be with the Go Daddy commercial, their use of women is getting kind of old but I guess that's the kind of promotion they rather use. Regardless I think they should have used at least some new faces.
The funniest commercial of them all had to be The Voice commercial with a number of celebrities including Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo, Blake Shelton, and Betty White. Betty White is hilarious in everything she does and it was great seeing that she still got it. It was an action packed commercial and was actually pretty entertaining to see them all perform like ninjas and then Betty White with "my eyes are up here".

1,5. The best overall commercial was The Chrysler- It’s halftime commercial which used Clint Eastwood very effectively. Eastwood used a very dramatic tone of voice to keep the commercial very interesting and at the same time related the hard work of a U.S. based company to football. The commercial was relevant to the game and also made great comparisons between the tough times the United States is going through and halftime of a football game.
4. David Beckham’s H&M commercial, I felt was a big waste of money considering that men are a big part of the audience that watch the super bowl. The commercial shows David Beckham shirtless advertising H&M’s new men’s clothing line. The commercial did not persuade me to go out to buy my clothes at H&M and considering that the super bowl is mostly watch by men, I believe H&M really wasted their money on this one.
To me, the dumbest commercial was the Toyota Camry reinvented commercial. I had no clue what the purpose of the commercial was and I wouldn’t have known what company was advertising until they threw the Toyota car and symbol in at the end. I feel like car advertisers should give you a little more details on the car and for a company like Toyota, price should have been the main focus of the advertisement.
6.(contd) The only thing I heard was every family should be financially secure. But then advertisers point was poorly delivered because for 30sec we watched the characters do nothing. Then we saw “Meta-life: You can do it” slogan. I was left with a big ? at the end. Therefore it was the biggest waste of money.
6. The corniest/dumbest commercial was the Meta-Life commercial. It was very confusing. We saw the cartoons coming from every which way and we heard the message through the voice talking but their was no connection. The cartoon characters came and stood in a field together. Using the different cartoon characters did not help the message. We were all waiting like WHAT? is the point. At the end I still didn’t know what Meta-Life was.
5. (contd) The advertisers intentions are to reach the women first who will then encourage her man to buy their underwear in an effort to want their man to be sexy like David portrayed. So men will be more inclined to buy his underwear just to please their woman.
5. The ad that best used a celebrity as a persuasive device was the David Beckham ad for H&M. The whole commercial he didn’t talk but he modeled his awesome body in the new H&M men’s underwear that is he is endorsing. It was great to me because it was simple, I got the point and as a woman I loved it. It was definitely designed to appeal to women although it is a men’s commercial.
1. (contd) From the consumers view the advertising message wasn’t clear until it was displayed at the end but at the same time it was not overwhelming and still very subliminally persuasive without the message being clear. The music also played a huge role. They chose “I’m Sexy and I Know it,” a song that majority of people know and like no matter the age group & it worked in their favor.
1. During Super Bowl 46 there was a lot of dumb ads, however the one that really grabbed the attention of me & the people I was around was the M&M commercial. It was very entertaining with two M&M’s in a party full of humans which really made you pay attention. The point of the commercial was to prove M&M’s aren’t you average chocolate. I don’t know if everyone got the message but for 30sec it was definitely the best attention grabber and made someone want a bag of M&M’s right after watching.
4-Without a doubt the biggest waste of money is Go Daddy. They come with the same thing every single year which is a commercial showing women and recently famous women like Danica Patrick. They show sexy images of these women then cut off at the end urging if you want to see more log on to their site. I would like to know who really logs on hoping to see what they think they're going to see without having any knowledge of what Go Daddy is in the first place. The idea is a tired, played out waste
5-Just as I thought it was the best commercial overall, I also think the best use of a celebrity was Clint Eastwood for the halftime Chrysler commercial. Just like you would want a great motivational coach to urge you to come back in a game, who better to give assurance and urge the country can come back strong than the western legend himself. His track history and one of a kind voice could make you feel proud of how far you came and motivate to make you push harder for things to get better.
1-I feel the best overall commercial was the half time commercial starring Clint Eastwood for Chrysler which consisted of a halftime theme of it's own. Just as it was halftime during the game and both teams would think and strategize about ways they can come together and win the game, the same can be said is happening in our country. The commercial compared the tough times our country is currently facing to being down at halftime during a game and gave an Americana feeling that we can come back.
5. I think the best use of a celebrity spot is a tie between David Beckham and Adriana Lima simply because they both caught a lot of attention with everyone watching the game, including myself. They both stroke up conversations with guys and girls to see who's more attractive (versus other attractive celebrities).
3. Although I didn't catch all of the commercials, one of the edgiest commercials I saw was with the sonic car doing flips and going through a bunch of other types of stunts. I thought it was pretty cool to be able to play with a car in real life that way.
2. I agree with some of the other posts that say that the M&Ms commercial is the funniest because of the misconception of the brown M&M being 'naked' and then the red M&M thinking its 'that type of party' and proceeds to dance and strip to a popular song.
-The best commercial was the Chevy 2012 commercial. It was the best commercial because it something that is relevant and the fact that they played on that idea was great.
-The funniest commercial was the Camaro graduate commercial. The commercial was just a humorous ad. No facts about the car or anything like that, but strictly to entertain.
-The provocative Fiat commercial was the edgiest. The commercial was edgy as it was sexy, and sex sells; or at least captures everyone’s attention.
The best use of a celebrity was David Beckham in the H&M ad. He was only thing you could see for most of the commercial and his name is the brand itself. I think the GoDaddy.com commercials are terrible and wastes of money. They try to garner traffic to their site with the use of beautiful women. I'm not sure the purpose of the product is whatsoever. -Jonathan
The funniest commercial hands down was the M&M spot. It was great overall. It introduce a new flavor with the chocolate shell . Somehow the made the candy seem some what sexy and provocative. It was able to incorporate both music and comedy with the iconic red M&M dancing to LMFAO.
5. The commercial with the best use of a celebrity was the commercial for the voice featuring all three judges along with Betty White making a guest appearance at the end. I personally love Betty White so her scene at the end was really funny and the whole commercial in general caught my attention. They used her as their guest celebrity and I think it worked because it caught my attention and made it memorable for a fan of hers.
2. The funniest commercial had to have been once again one of the doritos commercials. It was the one with the baby and the grandma and the kid who had the bag of doritos and was teasing the baby. It was funny how all of a sudden tables were turned and the baby and grandma now had the bag of doritos and they were teasing the kid. It was cute and funny the way it was showed.
1. The best overall commercial, for me, was the dorito commercial with the dog and the guy. It was showing how the owner had to be loyal to the dog because a dogs a mans best friend. It was really funny and definitely one of my favorite commercials this year.
For the best use of a celebrity was H&M's commercial featuring David Beckham. It was for Beckham’s body wear line. The elements (the music, the close ups of Beckham’s perfect body and face, the black and white color) of the commercial created a sexy tone and made it an unforgettable piece. And Beckham himself was definitely the best spokesperson for his own line.
For the funniest one I voted for M&M's Mrs. Brown. It was such a cute and humorous piece. They way they put the new character (Mrs. Brown), the old character (The Red M&M) and that "I'm Sexy and I Know It” music all together was just clever. There is no doubt that people will remember this new “brown but not naked” M&M.
I think the best overall commercial was Coke's “Catch” with the polar bears. Coke smartly intergraded the brand and the game together. The tension and movements of the bear trying to catch that bottle of Coke was like in real games, and that final touchdown was the best ending. It had great connection with Super Bowl and it was very enjoyable.
6. The dumbest commercial would have to be the Pepsi spot with Elton John. It was very cheesy and didn't make a connection with the audience. It didn't make me want to drink Pepsi at all.
5. The best use of a celebrity in an ad was in the Teleflora commercial with Adriana Lima. It spoke to men, urging them to purchase valentine's day flowers for the women in their lives. She was an excellent choice because she is known as a Victoria's Secret model and therefore is basically a spokesperson for great womens gifts. Also, she is loved by men and women alike.
2.the Doritos’s commercial was the funniest. it was fan made and everyone one i was with laughed at it
4.I believe that the GoDaddy.com was the biggest waste of money. Year after year that company spends loads of money to sell their product.
1/5.the Chrysler commercial feat. Clint Eastwood was the most effective commercial as well as the best use of a celebrity. it was both an inspirational ad and a reality check at the same time. With anyone else this commercial would not have done justice.
4. The Go Daddy Go commercial was the biggest waste of money. The commercial showed two of the usual spokespeople painting Go Daddy Go on a woman's body. It wasn't memorable and didn't incite any interest in the company.
3. The edgiest ad would be the series of commercials by Coca-Cola depicting animated polar bears. It was the edgiest of them all because the spots coincided with the actual football game. Each polar bear wore a scarf with either football team's colors and reacted to the game in the commercials: upset by bad plays and re-enacting a player running down the field with the football (or coca cola bottle)
1. The best overall SuperBowl spot was the Doritos dog bribery commercial. It was thoroughly entertaining and very memorable and clearly shows how tempting and delicious Doritos are.
2. The funniest commercial was the M&Ms spot. It depicted the M&M characters at a party where due to a misunderstanding one character strips off his "shell" and starts dancing to a popular song. It was very humorous due to the misconception.
I posted this comment on my Facebook page; "Which is your favorite commercial so far during this Super Bowl? I like the one with Clint Eastwood because the message behind it!!!!!" I always like to see a commercial that represents the current times/events or economic conditions.
I feel like the Clint Eastwood commercial for Detroit auto-makers was the best overall commercial and the best use of a celebrity - It's Halftime for America. Clint Eastwood's amazing voice carries a lot of power when he discusses the state of Detroit and related it to the state of the country. It stopped my family's whole party and made us think.
4. The biggest waste of money was a tie for me between the go daddy commerical and the cars.com commerical with the guy with the second head it seemed that was like singing or something.
5. Best use of celebrity: HANDS DOWN!! Matthew Broderick!! Its Ferris Bueller, no competition.
6. Dumbest commerical for sure: Audi with their HID Lights that kill vampires.
1.The most effective commerical personally would be the Chevy 2012 Mayan End of The World, It shows the true performance and means of being a Chevy owner.
2.The funniest commerical in my perspective would bethe M&M commerical, at my super bowl party it literally had every person in the room falling off their chairs.
3.Personally the edgiest commerical would be the Chevy Sonic commerical where they had the car doing the most UNLIKE things your car would ever do like kick flips and bungie jumping.
5.I think the best use of celebrity was the commercial for the Voice, the Vocal Kombat one. The four judges highlighted in the commercial are obviously celebrities in themselves and them fighting each other around the hotel was hysterical, but the best use of celebrity was when Betty White came in at the end. I thought it was clever and funny that the voice they were fighting over was Betty’s.
4.I think that the biggest waste of money was the Pepsi King’s Court commercial. I thought that Elton John was a little humorous but the rest I thought was just a waste of money. I thought it was dumb and didn’t leave a lasting memory. Since they added a celebrity like Elton John, we know that for him just to be in it was a lot of money, and his celebrity presence was not worth it. I thought that the two seconds Flava Flav was in it in the end of the commercial was a funnier celebrity spot.
4.The Go Daddy commercial was the biggest waste of money because after watching it I still don’t know what it’s for and I wouldn’t waste my time trying to find out.
1.I think the trade commercial was the overall best because it was funny, it got the point across about what the service does, and it grabbed my attention.
2.I think the funniest commercials were the bud light rescue dog and the sketchers dog commercials. I thought the bud light was the funniest because I imagined my dog doing something like that & the sketchers commercial was funny because the dog did the moon walk at the end of the race.
I think the coca-cola commercial was the best overall commercial because it incorporated football by having the bear run across the ice and score what seemed like a touchdown when he finally caught the bottle, and they stuck to their classic theme with the polar bears instead of using a spokesperson that has never been associated with them.
4. the go daddy commercial was the worst commercial and the biggest waste of money because it just doesn't make sense to me and i think its badly done.
2. the etrade and the doritos with the dog commercial are the funniest ones to me. The etrade commercial because i love babies and it catches everyone's attention especially with their adult voices. The doritos commercial because of the way the dog and owner interacted with each other and the note the dog wrote "you didn't see nuthin" was really funny.
1. i would say the coke commercial with the polar bears and the met life with cartoons are the best ones overall because with coke they incorporated football which obviously goes along really well with superbowl and with met life using cartoon characters because it appealed to everyone and every age can relate to it.
The commercial with the best use of a celebrity was the Honda CR-V commercial with Matthew Broderick. Its a small reenactment of Ferris Buellers Day Off, which is a very popular movie, so I think that most people could understand the theme right away. It was appealing without going over the top, or needing to use multiple celebrities.
3) I felt the dumbest commercial was the body paint Go Daddy commercial. It shows the Go Daddy girls painting a new girl with promotions of the new Go Daddy.Co domain names site. It was trying to be way too funny that it made it painfully unfunny and really awkward to watch. It is supposed to be targeted to new businesses trying to get noticed with the .CO domain name but i don't know what business would want to be associated with such a dumb ad campaign.
2) The best use of celebrity was the Acura Seinfeld commercial. Jerry Seinfeld, a stand up comedian and star of the hit 90's sitcom Seinfeld and a car collector, is trying to persuade a man out of buying the first new 2012 Acura NSX. It is humorous in his attempts and makes many references to the show. It also featured a cameo by Jay Leno, also a known car collector. It was extremely funny and well done. The fact that both men are car collectors would show the consumer that even they want an NSX
The funniest commercial was the Chevy happy grad commercial where the boy is excited because he thinks his parents bought him a Camaro. The parents think he is going to calm down so they can break the news to him but he just keeps going on and on and I thought it was hilarious. Most of the commercials that were 60 seconds or more I would shut off before the end because I hate long commercials but I watched the full 1 minute version of this with no problem because I was so entertained.
1) The funniest commercial was by far the M&M's 'Sexy and I Know It' spot. The M&M commercials are usually funny, but this was by far the funniest one I have ever seen. It was funny because of the use of the song and the way the red M&M danced while everyone else stared. It was also relevant by using said song seeing as it is newer and younger people would be able to connect with it.
The worst Superbowl commercial was for the Abarth Fiat. Although this Fiat is higher in performace, the commercial did not do it any justice. The advertisement featured a supermodel in hopes of making the car appear more attractive or luxurious. While watching this commercial I found it to look a little too overdone and a little too over the top. Instead of attempting to sell to consumers a luxurious, good looking car, it still looked like the tiny Fiat we're all familiar with seeing.
The funniest commercial I thought was the Career Builders commercial. It was hilarious! Great use of animals and the little skits of events that made up the commercial were awesome.
The commercial I thought was the best use of a celebrity was the David Beckham for H&M commercial. Not only is it his line of undergarments, but being that he is very well known for his appearance makes the product valuable to women (who I believe is the target market). I know that I will make my boyfriend at least try the new line out!
The dumbest commercial was definitely the Celebrity Apprentice commercial. It was a complete waste of money and could've been shown during regular TV time.
A commercial which used a celebrity to it's best overall advantage was the H&M ad featuring David Beckham. In this commercial, Beckham is bearing all, completely turning the tables on viewers who may be used to seeing scantily clad women. Instead, this particular commercial gives women watching some eye-candy in the form of a very muscular, very attractive, tatted soccer player. Who better than David Beckham?
The overall best ad that was aired during the Superbowl was the M&M's "Ms. Brown" commercial. This commercial, which introduced a new M&M character was both clever and humorous. The brown M&M is the newest candy member to get a complete makeover, seen party without it's colored shell. It immediately captured my attention and served as a commercial to remember.
3) The best use of a celebrity had to be the Kia commercial with Motley Crue and the other celebrities. They without a doubt put their money to good use with the commercial and it didn't seem as long as it was, which is a plus since it didn't feel like it was dragging on like many others have a tendency to do.
1. Which was the best overall commercial in this Superbowl?
The best was Pepsi's commercial with X Factor winner Melanie Amaro, Elton John, and Flava Flav. It was comical and filled with celeb power. They were also very smart for using two household names, Elton and Flav, to make up for many people not knowing Melanie.
2) The funniest was probably the Toyota Camry commercial where everything was reinvented. It was probably one of the funniest commercials I've seen in a while, I'd love it if the DMV could be reinvented! When the music built up, it got even funnier.
1) The best overall was definitely the Matthew Broderick Honda commercial. Aside from the fact that Ferris Bueller is one of my favorite movies, Matthew Broderick hasn't really done a lot of great movies lately. So, to see him in his "best" role but as himself was a nice change. It will definitely make people that are fans of his go look at that car.
The dumbest commercial was the go daddy.co. In this commercial two ladies are seen discussing and painting facts about the website on the body of another woman. However I thought that go daddy tried too hard to be too funny towards the end, which took away from its effectiveness.
The Chevrolet commercial was the most effective overall in showing the car’s durability and resilience. It’s in this commercial where the viewer see the world has ended and the only survives are the ones who have Chevrolet vehicles. In the background also plays Barry Manilow’s “Looks like We Made It” which further instills in the viewer’s mind how dependable Chevrolet cars are.
Doritos commercial taunting young boy is depicted poking fun of his grandmother and baby brother for not being able to obtain the bag of Doritos from him. Eventually the grandmother confined to a wheel chair, grabs her grandchild and slings shots him to the bag of Doritos above in the tree house. Then they happily eat the chips and now laugh at the boy for their accomplishment. Overall what made this commercial funny was undoubtedly this sportsmanship between the grandmother and the baby.
The commercial that was the best use of a celebrity was Kia's "Drive the Dream", featuring Motley Crue singing Kickstart My Heart. It's a great song and made me feel like I should go out and get that car.
2) The two VW commercials, because in "Bark Side", the dogs, dressed up like characters from Star Wars, bark the theme music that plays when Darth Vader enters from the movie, and in "The Dog Strikes Back", the dog battles to lose weight so he could catch the Volkswagon car, and then goes to the bar from Star Wars and the guy says that the dog was better than the kid Vader in last year's commercial and then he gets choked out by Vader himself until he apologizes.
1) The best overall commercial in this Super Bowl is Coca-Cola's "The Catch" commercial featuring the polar bears. It is the best because it looks like a football play as the bear is trying to catch the Coca-Cola bottle. It made me laugh and it was a great commercial.
3. The commercial with the best use of a celebrity was the Clint eastwood halftime skit. He was the perfect candidate for the commercial, the tone and music of the skit, fit him in perfectly.
GonathanBreedlove 3 weeks ago
2. The funniest commercial to me was the “Doritos crash the superbowl” skit. I think this because I just love Doritos and using the kids to portray infidelity with a bag of chips was just absurd.
GonathanBreedlove 3 weeks ago

Question #6
The dumbest commercial was the Cars.com commercial. His “confidence” was showing, but it just was a creepy little head that came out of his back. I think it would have been more effective if they used a dwarf or something to that nature. The creepy small head reminded me of the alien from Men and Black. I don’t know if that was the point because they’re supposedly making another Men in Black movie. But It wasn’t funny it was weird&it makes me think of a movie rather than cars.com.

Question #5
The commercial with Elton John and flavor flav at the beginning seemed good because it was entertaining, but it wasn’t effective because I can’t remember what the commercial was for. (I just want to say, I couldn’t; hear the Betty White commercial because there were people talking. So it may have been very good I just didn’t get to see.)

Question #4
I think the Time Warner commercial was the biggest waste. They had a few celebrities and a doomsday theme but I guess because I’m so unfavorable toward Time Warner I didn’t appreciate it. I felt like they had too much irrelevant things going on when they should just be showing me how they’re going to improve rather than what they can offer.
chelsiiii20 3 weeks ago
Question #3
The Chevy sonic was kind of edgy but I wasn’t really impressed. The stunts were kind of cool, but I guess because I’m not a target audience/market for Chevy it didn’t really appeal to me. There was a scene in another commercial that I thought was really edgy but I can’t remember what the commercial was for so, it must have not been effective.

Question #2
I think the Bud Light “Here We Go” Dog commercial was cute and entertaining and funny. It was awesome how much everyone loved the dog and how he got them beer on command. It was also great that they partnered with a rescuing dos place. However I thought the naked M&M commercial was just as funny. The red M&M has always been the silly, wild one, so him getting naked or “exposing his chocolate” was amusing.
chelsiiii20 3 weeks ago
Question #1

Question1-
I thought the funniest commercial was the Oikos yogurt commercial.

Djart910 3 weeks ago

FastLifeMarc 3 weeks ago

BSReveley 3 weeks ago
I enjoyed the Doritos commercial when the dog killed the cat and he bribed the man to keep his mouth shut. It was a short simple commercial yet, entertaining. At times, those are the most effective. I had not seen a commercial like that before. They also used animals which gives a bonus appealing factor.
The Coke commercials were a waste of money. It was not innovative or entertaining. They did not introduce the Polar Bears in a new or exciting way. They could have saved their 3 mil.
BSReveley 3 weeks ago
4 Biggest waste had to be the Acura Nsx commercial, the car is gorgeous and practically sells itself since it is already hugely hyped but the commercial had nothing to do with the product, just a waste. couldve been for any car.
5 Best use of a celebrity seems to be that Oikos Yogurt with John Stamos, It was subtle surprising and not shameless celebrity plug.
6 Dumbest commercial was TaxActt hands down, kinda gross and just pointless. had literally nothing to do with the brand.
opticskull07 3 weeks ago
1 Best commercial hands down for my party was the Avengers Trailer. My friends all fell silent and the one holding the remote even rewound the live show to watch it over and over again, but again we are biased.
2 funniest commercial had to be the Doritos slingshot, the entire room was laughing and cheering and one friend even went to the kitchen to grab a bag of doritos, instant sell.
3 Edgiest comercial had to be that stupid david beckham spot which is already garnering animosity.
opticskull07 3 weeks ago

- The biggest waste of money yet again was GoDaddy for obvious reasons.
- The best use of celebrity was the Acura and Seinfeld spot as he has quite a collection of Porsche's.
- The dumbest commercial to me was the Hulu Plus one with Will Arnett. It didn't do anything for me whatsoever.
radiaz91 3 weeks ago

- The edgiest commercial was the reinvented Toyota spot as it doesn't really say anything about the new Camry, other than that its reinvented, but the commercial is still...special.
radiaz91 3 weeks ago
The biggest waste of money was probably the “King’s Court – Pepsi” commercial because of all the celebrities they had to pay and the length of the commercial. I think they could have delivered the same message in a shorter amount of time, and with out celebrities.
acethespade 3 weeks ago
The edgiest was probably the “Reinvented – Toyota Camry” commercial. It was edgy because it started out with a couch made up of sexy women and then moved to a poopless baby, the randomness was what made it so edgy, and the fact that it really didn’t have anything to do with the new Camry.
acethespade 3 weeks ago

I thought maybe it was even to racey to be putting on TV, but I think it’s good that they did because it shows they aren’t afraid of the attention and actually I think drew more attention and make people wonder why they did what they did and want to learn more about the car.
kfrey17 3 weeks ago

2. john stamos for oikos greek yogurt. i wasnt expecting for it to turn out the way it did!
3. go daddy. it was kind of unnecessary, and i didnt really get the point of it.

MissMyrtisThweatt 3 weeks ago

MissMyrtisThweatt 3 weeks ago

XavierAguilar12 3 weeks ago

I feel like the Clint Eastwood commercial for Detroit auto-makers was the best overall commercial and the best use of a celebrity - It's Halftime for America.
