I agree with the judges; if you compare this particular version with the more popular 'cossak/russian dancing' videos on youtube, I think it's pretty obvious that these guys are but a shadow of the better 'cossack' dancers.

really watch the dance co-ography the background stand and clap for many melodies the steps are basic, l and really not much to the dance itself other than solo work this is a group dance, and Real Cossacks Are Ukrainian I'm suprised they got the marks they did . Standing and clapping is not dancing.

The men trained so hard that they make the dance look easy. The judges see how easy it looks and that the men are happy, they don't see how hard it is to learn the dance or the tradition. They just see the fluid movements and think "Oh. That's easy."

The men desereved so much more than what they got.

That is sheer racism. It's because they were russian, and no-one understands the complexities of Cossack dancing. This is not just a dance to us, this is our lives.

yeah i enjoyed this dance, there's so much strength involved.. at least an 8 overall.. they were all so happy, with those grinning faces, they deserved more

I think they danced very well, very good traditional dance. What people don't realize is - it's very difficult to do all these strength exercises, one after another. I am very happy with this dance.:-)

its funny how people get upset at the judges for giving a seven.but cheer when a judge gives an eight.not much difference.only one point.

What's beautiful is looking how much the Gumboots, Cossacks and Hips Hop dancers have in common in terms of how they use the movements and their transitions. It's all incredible. There were a few moments when the dancers weren't perfectly in sync but it was so slight. Gorgeous dancing. So joyful and graceful and fluid. I love the dances that aren't really meant for stage but are more about community building or work or informal gathering. Fabulous!

Why is this a low score, they have no understand of what these type of dances mean to this. For us dance is how you prepare for war and battle. It trains your soul, mind and body for it. Are martial arts are like dance. A man who can not dance is weak for us. Thought this dance performance is poor compared to others in Russia. IF you wish to see more better, look up more Don Kazaks of Rostov dances or Kuban Cossack.

I really do have to say, TOTALLY IGNORING South America andf South Aferica. This Russian Dance is a FOLK DANCE!!!! It is not supposed to be alll in line an in order....Or the seizure like that Solo South Aferican dancer did...

russia, baby! I'm so happy they did that. That looked really beautiful and graceful. I thought they kept a nice beat. My favorite part is 2:53 - 3:18 it looked really hard. And everything after 3:30.Their legs must be really nice.

These guys totally should have stayed in the competition. The Cossacks were all about drinking and having a good time. You can't be boozed up and stay in sync all the time. ;)

I think the other judges were just jealous.

Another post here, is that I have to got to find out this exact song they dance too! I really do love this song, and so far, the ppl who have tried to help me...well...haven't done squat!!! So if someone can please atleat give me the name of this song....I would be so happy.....

The song they danced to is called, "Vecher Vecher Matushka" and is performed by the Don Cossacks of Rostov.

I did see this ep and the judges who scored them low, mostly saying that the dance was 'not in sync'. I thought they did fantastic! And, remind you judges, this is a 'traditional FOLKDANCE' number. Which means that it is not ballroom dancing, it dose not have to be precise, s/p. And lets see anybody!, Guy or girl at least TRY to do ANY of those moves those dancers did!!!!

They were good. But the tempo seemed a little subdued. They could have gotten 9's or 10's had they performed the routine of the Don Kazaks of Rostov, " Vecher Vecher Matushka" with instrumental brass, and with women dancers accompanying them.

You should have seen the performance of June 2006 with the great dancer Vitaly Verterich, a true artist-- he and his cohort danced far a better rendition and packed with energy. You can find it on youtube.
