Hi I loved your video and the 6-5 was just great I watched every Saturday without fail before going out. But what has it to do with the 60's it finished two years before the 60's started, it ended soon after Jack Good left the BBC and started Oh Boy on ABC. But a great memory jogging video and I love your selection of music.
Good morning, do you like sixties? Listen and pod cast my program " great sound of 60' s " on the site plumfm. Greeting and made blooper in rock and roll.
Salut, vous aimez les sixties ? Ecoutez et podcatez mon émission "le super son des sixties" sur plum fm. Salut et faites gaffe au rock'n roll.
Cher looked older back then! I think anyone who was in their teens in the 60s had the best deal of any generation before or since, musically. Pity I just missed it.
FU! PAULLONDEN...since when does sexuality come into these things..the BBC is no more run by gays now as it was then...and most gays with ANY cred don't work for the BBC which is seen as a TV fossil by ANYBODY!! and its just as sexist to say there wouldn't be an entertainment industry without gays!!???WTF!! So all those industry entertainers in any capacity were null and void due to the fact that they wanted to shag Pan's people and not be one of them!! Grow a brain cell you scrote!
Love the dancing in the opening sequence. Tom Jones: Sex on legs! Twist & Shout? Absolutely amazing. The Stones? Brilliant. Cilla? Who'd have thought she would have such a long career? Billy J? Should have changed his hairstyle! Manfred Mann? He's 70 now, unbelievable. I could go on and on............(and I have1)
1960's? The best time for teenagers EVER...we had it all - jobs galore, cheap houses, the pill, great music and great fashion. Definitley the IT generation.
@Michaellxxx Isn't that the way it goes man? I'm only 48 but it feels like that. Yesterday i was a big-eyed kid looking at the mini-skirts and Mini cars, now I'm everybody's uncle.... :)
@Michaellxxx True. When they first came out (I was 4 or 5 ) I looked at the skirts. Somewhere in the 70s I changed to your perspective and haven't given it up yet.
I remember Kent Walton used to do Discs A Go-Go on TWW in Bristol and the badges you could get and Sherley Bassey before she went all sophisticated She sang Kiss Me Honey Honey Kiss Me
not as many as a brit would ..... american here .... didn't get your show here .... but know quite a few ..... liked lulu a lot too .... attractive girl, she was!
six five special lol..feb 1957-december 1958. by the time the 1960s started the six five was largely a forgotten show from another era. just 2 or 3 years in teenage life is a big time. i no i was there with john pertwee and christopher columbus
I remember them all too!!! thanx YouTube for such a Great website. it Gives us a chance to look back and relive our past !! What a Great time it was .. Loved it !! The Best xx.. Lyndloo..
@PAULLONDEN . OK - so do you remember BBC gays from way back. Frankie Howerd, Hugh Paddick. Kenneth Williams. John Inman. There are no more gay people in the world now than there were then - (at least in proportion to the total world population). The only difference now is that instead of the closet being almost full, it's almost empty. (No I am not gay - but didn't you ever learn the meaning of the word "tolerenace" when you were in school?
Alright, I grant that my comment was a bit over the top ,and can be misconstrued.
I've got nothing against gays either,(this comment is in itself an afront) But you just can't denie that the BBC lost it's past greatness. Gayness is being pushed to the limits there these days. And the channel is being overrun by cookes and morons with eating disorders.
many many thanx for this fab video a blast from the past wow! I remember them all! I cud watch this all night! it brings bak so many happy memories Sixties Rock! got anymore ?
shake it up baby! oh..the memories! come on without, come on within...When the lights are going down in Massachusetts....They say our love won't pay the rent...I got you babe!

The BBC the best station in the world? Yeah right.
They needlessly destroyed half their 60s & 70s archive and you can only work there now if your a faggot.
