I'm a 14 years old girl and I grow up with this. My father always listen to Duran Duran, álways and when I was 6 years I knew all the songs and sing together with my dad. Now I'm still a Duran Duran fan, more then ever and know and love all the songs. I wanna thank my dad so much for listening this with me in the past, Duran Duran have the best music ever. There so much artists I love, but Duran Duran is a group I will always be in love with.
WOW these guys' still sounding good just like back in the '80's when i first came across their music. looking at their videos back then i always felt these guys was all substance and no flash, meaning that i always liked their coolness and musicianship. this group has aged well. just like great wine. real talent, and no gimmicks.i can't say that for most of the artist of today.
@happystudio1 YOU SAID IT:) God, I want the 80´s back...we had such a good time! Now , I´m just married with children...this was the greatest tune to make out to :P
@Sincerelyyoursable I hear you! I'm 44 now married with a son. Not that I regret anything now ( I love my wife and son) but it was such an innocent and care free time. At the time I never realized how much fun I had in the early to mid 80s. Just beautiful music. What a song... Reminds me of sitting on the beach for hours here on, Gold coast, Australia and just chilling.... without a single worry in the world!!
@boyboyrock Yeah, I don't get it - kids actually miss school because they are bored in the summer. WTF is wrong with them? Hell, when I was a kid, a fucking stick would keep me occupied for hours. We had imaginations back then. A stick would be a gun, or a sword/lightsabre, etc... Playing street hockey for hours, etc... How can you get bored? Kids are way to coddled, I think that's the problem.

@h1wayman ...I can respect your opinion - but for perspective you sound a lot like my dad did, when I would force him to sit with me in '82 / '83 and watch what I considered to be 'genious' talent of my generation (like Madonna, Adam Ant and Duran Duran). His response was a lot like yours - 'You call this stuff music??' - and then he would hastily leave the room, eager to put on the 'oldies' station as a consolation to his slights. It's really all a matter of perspective...
@h1wayman Um, they became 'rich men' because they were experts at their craft, they knew how to sell their products and they were at the right place at the right time - no different from any other artists done before them...

... I don't know what all this stuff is, but the original version of this clip featured footage from the island of Sri Lanka. It's been a long time since I've seen it but I remember them being on an elephant in a river, and some boy blowing on some exotic flute. That was the original video...
@8g9ftso Yes, that's correct.........but "some boy blowing on some exotic flute" was none other than a 20 year old Nick Rhodes; keyboard player & architect & preserver of Duran Duran.....a total legend!
This song is just so amazingly beautiful! Always loved this one! Duran Duran sure put out some great songs. Wouldnt have been the 80s without them! Takes me back to better days. This song takes me back to days of true happiness and innocence. I miss those days. My heart just aches for those days. What a time that was! Never to be forgotten! There was a magic in the air back then that you just cant feel today and that is a real shame . Missing those days forever!! 80s forever in our hearts♥♥
@h1wayman We took it for granted! And the same thing is happening now as happened then - the kids like the music of the day, their parents think it's shite and tell them so, suggesting that they'd be better off listening to the 'classics' that THEY listened to when THEY were kids..... :D
Thankfully, as you pointed out, it's still around and in various formats to enjoy all over again - thank God indeed for mp3, and thank God too for YouTube and the Uploaders who have kept this stuff alive...
My favorite DD tune hands down. Everything about this tune is incredible, & I like the way they reproduce their material so like the original studio cut. This whole album is like that. It's reminiscent of The Beatles (another great live band) that did their tunes at The BBC (check out the CD "Live at the BBC") just like the studio cuts. That's always the sign of a great band. They sound just like their studio version. Anyway, a great band & this is a great rendition. Thanks for posting this!
I'm afraid that you're right! I wish that you weren't, but wishing it doesn't make it so?
This generation of step-and-fetch-it kids don't know sh!t from shinola when it comes to good music. Crap! they think 'lady' Gagme is talent. Excuse me while I vomit!
Like you said copies of copies...so right!
No originality, no independent thought, no creativity! Just corporate slaves, sucking off the governments tit and all the while thinking they're so free and hip and original. PATHETIC!
@n8tureboy I understand what you're saying, however I do think GaGa has talent... You can't blame her for the changing of the music industry, it HAS changed a lot since DD was big in the '80's but that isn't the fault of today's younger artists. Myself I admire GaGa's brashness, her unabashedness in putting out what she sees as a message to others - much like Duran2 did back in the '80's but the music industry has changed because of cyberspace...
I'll concede that the music industry has changed, but I'm of the opinion that, even though, change is inevitable, it's not necessarily good. Gaga may have some talent, but I see nothing redeemable in the music she makes at all. Just my opinion.
I like music that uplifts and tells a story. Her music is base and nonsensical to me. I can't figure out what she's trying to convey? Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I know good when I hear it and the 80's were awesome.
THE Days (1980s and earlier)when song craftmanship was valued. There was no need for casting call type shows to "teach us" what is talent or who is the next big thing we should be listening to via a panel of judges. Young listeners are not taught critical thinking in schools as much as they used to be,and as a result can forced fed all sorts of so called "music".
No music era was as fun as the 80's....the music, the hair, the clothes (neon socks..lol), men wearing eye liner....loved it loved it.....those were the good ol' days!!!
@pennfarms Andy left Duran Duran he didn't like the direction the band was taking again he more into hard rock now. That's ok, we still love Andy Taylor.
@pennfarms Andy did participate in DD's legacy for awhile - however he has proven to be 'the fish that got away', let's just wish him well in any future endeavors he may tackle...
May the timeless, colorful, artistic, earth tone, inspirational and passionately driven music scene SOON replace the diluted, bland, robotic, pitch shifted, online groove, predictable (lyric/chord/riff), shiny turd produced conveyor belt music scene. God bless you all for keeping it alive.
HOW COULD 36 PEOPLE DISLIKE THAT FUCK BRILLIANT SONG ,I LOVE YOU GUYS, DURAN DURAN FOREVER.

@mankind844 ...In certain cultures, 'older and older' often translates to 'better and better', like fine wine on a shelf... ;)

Have these songs been re-recorded and re-released?

8g9ftso 10 months ago
@8g9ftso
Gaga leaves me wanting.

Yes! They got their money the old fashioned way. They earned it!
No posers here, just real musicians, playing real music for real people.
