  • Best thing about the 7.3 is the torque/horsepower ratio. Sure it doesn't have the torque of a cummins or the horsepower of the duramax. It has the best ratio of both! Where the cummins lacks in horsepower and the duramax lacks in torque the International 7.3 powerstroke does the job. Best ratio of both worlds!

  • the 6.4 is a pos

  • fords have to many engine problems with their diesels.... i used to have fords but i switched over to dodge cuz of to many engine problems........dodge is easily the best engine and ive beat the crap out of mine and its still goin

  • Lol, my 7.3 and my 6.4 is still runnin. 7.3 is my mud diesel truck 6.4 is my workhorse. Cummins is nice but in a shit truck

  • ya i think im gonna switch back to ford my new dodges are having tons of problems, the only thing their isnt is the cummins engine. Thank goodness all this stuff was under warranty

  • Good man. Dodge is a piece of shit. In Dodge, even the Cummins is a piece of shit.

  • 7.3 was the best, then came the damn retarded EPA. Yep, espicially the 12v, I will agree

  • the 6.4 is gutless and a hog on fuel

  • ford trucks are the best, the cummins motor is the best but the 7.3 is still awsome i had both but the ford was my favourite. but i dont know what happend to gmc ove the years

  • I dont know why some people say the 7.3 "had so much power". Every 7.3 I've driven is a complete dog compared to both ISB's and all the Dmax's, including my lbz.

  • the 7.3 is a dog unmodified, i had a 03 6.0 with that one blade turbo and that thing would scream and haul ass stock man

  • I can for the life of me figure out why its Fords fault that international had some many problems with the 6.0. Ford didn't make the motor, the Superduty is the best truck you can buy. Dodges are beer cans with 4wd, dont even get me started on chevys.

  • @musclemustang94 uhhh buddy, 7.3 was the last motor made by international, 6.0 was made by ford and it was plagued with problems because of EPA B.S,and brought out to production early to compete against dodge and chevy, simplely put it wasnt ready for production yet

  • @musclemustang94 The 6.0 is an excellent design, but U.S emissions and safety standards as well as poor quality diesel fuel are what killed it. It's a lively plant no doubt, but under intense demands it falls short of the Cummins and the Duramax. It's a great engine for an excursion or an F-350 max, but not an F-450+. It's pretty bad when you do better hauling with a 210hp 3V 3215 with 350,000 miles and a miss then with an almost pristine 90K mile 325 hp 6.0.

  • COME ON GUYS! i am personally a Ford Power Stroke man, but the Dodge cummins does have its advantages the 5.9 may have shitty power but its hard to kill, the 7.3 PS are built for sheer power and may have their issues shop maintenance, as long as none of you are talking good about shitty ass Duramax, we all are on the same page

  • @FRITZZLE69 you got that wrong. the 7.3 have shitty power but are hard to kill and the dodge cummins is built for sheer power. and is VERY hard to kill.

  • @FRITZZLE69 I hope your not being serious 7.3 are the worst motor besides the 6.2 chevy motor to make power in fact there very few and i mean very few that can break 1000hp. The 6.4 has its power but its plagued like every ford motor after the 7.3 with it EGR issues. I would rather have lower hp to begin with but the reliability of a million mile motor which ford clearly hasnt done in the last 10 years

  • I also had a '04 POS 6.0. After a lawsuit & buyback I finally got out of the thing. Bought a Dodge/Cummins and never looked back. Phord lost my business for good.

  • Do you get a nice pair of walking shoes when you buy this truck? Can you get a 1000HP out of a 7.3? The 5.9 Cummins you can. Ordered a '07 Dodge w/ the new 6.7 Cummins this morning. One turbo is all it needs.

  • do a little more reasearch or start reading diesel power mag look up DOUBLE OVERTIME thats a 1500 hp stroker 7.3 the only difference in dodge and ford is 12 valve power is all cheap bolt-on fords are more electronics involved i own a 94 12 valve and a 97 ford and i have aprox 1500 in both trucks and my dodge will smoke my ford

cummins easier to work on you almost gotta pull a 7.3 out to service anythin the 6.7 is just a pos as a 6.4 my dad has one been in shop 3 times this year

  • the 6.0 did have problems but the 7.3 was a hell of a motor, reliable, powerfull, and smoother running than the 5.9 crummins. Also the 5.9 sounds like its going to blow up when you hit 3,000 RPM.

  • I agree BillyBibbitt. Dodge/Cummins is the ONLY way to go in the light-truck diesel market."An OK engine in a piece of shit truck." Typical f**d owner reply. I have a '94 Dodge/Cummins that I want to replace w/ a new 6.7, but I can't wear the present truck out. Straight 6's all the way for a light truck diesel.

  • Cummins,An OK engine in a piece of shit truck. V8 diesels are smoother running. This new Ford with diesel is one kick ass setup. I bought one. Much better quality than other brands.

  • Smooth running v-8 compared to a I-6??? LOL!! Come on bud, i-6's no matter what they are, diesel, propane, gas, 4.7L 5.9L 14L are just plain smooth due to design. Your comparing a solid grrrrrr to a chug chug chug. :)

  • Wouldn't go near it. Had a 6.0 POS. Smartened up and got a Dodge/Cummins. NEVER another V-8 diesel for me.

  • This kid has a mouth. A freakin' know it all.

  • This kid has a mouth. A freakin' know it all.

  • haha wow...why do people flip shit on you tube, calm down

  • Through fleet discount. MSRP on those are around 35-40K. That kid did not buy it on his own unless he is fucking rich which I don't think he is. I am Ford factory trained service tech also with a two year GM service degree. I know more about this shit than you do. Including selling them.

  • Florida? You must be gay. Fucktard? Drop your cock and screw a girl instead of yourself. YOU DID NOT DRIVE THE TRUCK. YOU CANNOT AFFORD IT WITHOUT DADDY! YOUR 19 WITH NO JOB YOU FUCKING MOOCHER! That truck you got there was about 35K. NO FUCKING WAY YOU BOUGHT IT YOURSELF unless it has 200K miles on it and bought it for 4K.

  • Hey moron, where the hell is somebody gonna buy a Lariat, Crew Cab Diesel 4x4 for $35k? I bought a brand new Lariat V10, I paid $32k for it through fleet. So how is he gonna buy one for $35,000? Maybe you should change your name, because dude..you are not a truck guy. By the way an '06 with 200k miles would still go for at least $20k, not $4,000. Jesus, you're a moron.

  • You sound like a Nigger. I have my own place, 4 Ford trucks, all F350's. 86,91,96,2006. All diesel. If thats you truck, which was bought by daddy, it's illeagal up here because of your straight pipes. We have this thing called a "noise ordinance". "there is a turbo but no boost?" are you a stupid retard? Boost is produced by the turbo. And your guage was reading around 25PSI.

  • This shit is hilarious. So let me get this straight you're 26 and own 4 F350's? Wow you're either incredibly rich, or incredibly stupid. I'm guessing it's the latter. So let's see, I'm 25, I've got a Harley Edition F250 Diesel, a Lincoln Navigator Ultimate Edition (which is paid off) Not to mention my F550 XLT Diesel which I use for work in MY OWN business. I just bought a new house for $626,000. But wait I own yet another house that I currently rent out to some broke losers such as yourself.

  • I know you didn't. You won't be able to for another month. I'm 26 and have sold more Superduties than you have ever seen. If you did drive it, where and when? even though you didn't.

  • Take it easy Jackass! What lawsuit? I work at a dealer. Your 19, you didn't drive it.

  • how would you know? did you drive it? I DON'T THINK SO! How ever, you are right about about the smaller one feeding the bigger one. Alot of people think its the other way around.

  • True, over 3/4 of Superduties are diesel. My truck is an 02 F-250 with 5.4 gas engine. I get less than 15 mpg highway and on 38 gallons. The diesels get around 18-20mpg. It makes more sense to buy a 3/4 ton or higher with a diesel.

  • Americans will buy this by the tens of thousands. True most of the light duty trucks are gasoline, but they buy these powerful diesels for towing heavy loads. They offer a lot more torque when it comes to towing things like cargo trailers, travel trailers, stock trailers and flatbeds.

  • what do you mean?

  • Americans won't buy this will they? I thought nearly all trucks sold in the US were petrol...

  • Right.

  • Shit, that word is supposed to be "smaller" not "slammer".

  • Actually, its a "2 stage" Turbo system. Under lite acceleration, the smaller turbo, an electronic variable geometric responce turbo comes on. As RPM's increase, the larger "fixed" turbo is fed by the slammer one untill the desired speed is reached. At this time, the larger turbo takes over as the smaller turbo spools down.

  • That was exactly what i was talking about..

  • Actually, the small turbocharger is fixed and the larger is a VGT.

  • test...

  • dual turbos? someone FIRE the marketing department, everyone knows TWIN TURBO sounds 1000Xs cooler then "dual turbos"

  • Maybe the 6.4L diesel engine doesnt have TWIN turbos(maybe they arent the same size)

They mightve just put 2 turbos there wich are differently sized, so you wouldnt get turbo lag.
