I can't even really hear the shifting. It sounds more like the shifting of an automatic, but the SVO model only came with a 5-speed. Was the transmission swapped?
lol IS IT STOCK?? that has to be the most retarded comment ive ever seen on youtube. YES krazykyle its stock. You see, cars were much much faster in the 80s than they are today, and you could walk into the dealership in 1985 and by a 9 second Mustang off the showroom floor. As a matter of fact, ive got one I can sell you :P
where could i find a good stroker kit for my svo do you know of any good web sites cause im having a really tough time finding all this stuff even before i was thinking of stroking it out i just cant find any good rebuild kits that are high performance but after this video i know i want it stroked can you send me the sites or something thanks for the info man appreciate it
@izzyiskool I have since learned a lot about the turbo ford community and that's not the route I am going to go through lol I didn't know anything about the 2.3t a year ago now my brain is swollen with so much knowledge. Thanks for the help though izzy Btw im Rolo at stinger, turboford, and svoca.
@lindaleparkrolo they do not make a stroker kit. they make aftermarket pistons and crank but no stroker kit. only thing you can do is bore it and get bigger pistons cant get a longer stroke
@brannon86svo esslinger and racer walsh both have stroker kits for it now that go to 2850cc on the stock block or 3L on the svo aftermarket tall block.
The block is a limited production "tall deck" block built by Ford Motorsports in the 80s. The extra tall deck height allows for up to 3.0Liters of discplacement with the right stroker kit like this SVO has. Needless to say these blocks are ultra rare and hard to find. But i would recommend a 2.5L stroker kit for good, safe turbo motor.
@izzyiskool I remember years ago on AOL when Jon was building the car. Uses two intercoolers in-line, very interesting. He was also one of the first people I saw with the FAST EFI system in his car on the stock Ford harness. Anybody can have a V8 Mustang its a like a belly button. I've always liked the SVO.
how low is the stroke? and did you have a custom cam built straight for the car, because i really havent heard of a cam made by a company for a 2.3 stroked motor?
Ha! people say honda 4bangers are good?! no rice burner could keep within 2-3 seconds of that, its the magic of RWD and a solid rear axle, plus of course american engineering!
or just use what the factory sent them with? use a 5-liter/stroker, or a 2.3/stroker, and away you go. and apox on the clowns that put chevy motors in mustangs, they should be sterilized if not executed to prevent that ever happening again
@fox5091 Why? I have one. I was/is a Ford Man however, SVT Focus was SLOOOOW even with a supercharger. I had to look elsewhere. I also wasn't interested in RWD, broken driven shafts and having to run a loop on slicks. My car ran 12's on the stock turbo, something an SVO won't do without serious engine modifications. I've had Mustangs before but its attitudes like yours that prevent me from getting another one.
or you could put two svo motors in it. it would have well over 1000 horse and be light as hell.but then you would have to deal with the gears, ect and then have to turn it into an awd car...i would love to see it though
lol yeah cuz a v12 is gonna fir in a 84 Svo mustang. you could put a v8 in but thats useless considering, te svo's are legendary having only 9844 made in 2 1/2 years. ok im just kidding i understand sarcasm but some times it s just fun to be a smart ass :D
so does anyone still like v-tecs??? LOL

@kjfordracing55 - uhhhhh IDK if you know this, but that is a Mustang SVO.
The Mustang SVO is the turbocharged Lima (Pinto 4 cyl)

Wow! How the hell did you manage to get that much power from an engine that small?
Wonder what you'd do if you'd get your hands on a V12...

10shots1hit 4 years ago
Hell yeah you could fit a V12 in. Just remove some of the american fat ass and you'll be able to fit plenty more hardware in :P
GodGell 4 years ago
haha yeah just you know take out the fire wall seats rear seat and get it to fit in the back of the hatch and you might do allright.
10shots1hit 4 years ago
Actually, it would be such a bad idea! How about using two V6's instead of a V12 - one in the engine compartment, and one in the passenger seat!
In the long run, it would be cost-effective too - you wouldn't ever need to spend money on music again, since you wouldn't be able to hear shit. :D
GodGell 4 years ago
lol well as long as it still has a turbo or two!
