I continue to be amazed at how loyal we SAAB owners are to the brand! SPYKER, LISTEN TO US! We know our cars, we will tell you what works and what doesn't, we will sell the product to our friends and family. WE ARE YOUR BEST MARKETING STRATEGY!!! LISTEN TO US!
Well GM has extended the deal with Spyker to the 7th, so there might be hope yet...I think any other would make Saab a better car (except for the Chinese that is...they can have volvo, thats just fine with me)
Lol, I was there in September, lets just hope that GM will allow saab to be sold to another company, dunno if Spyker is still interested, but lets hope so... Spyker will surely improve the quality of the brand again and once again driving a saab will be a statement... i drive quality shit biaatch :P
i love saab design to death, whoever tell me to get Mer E class or audi A6, please go away , i dont fucking want any piece of shit like this , boring A6 and E class wouldnt never caught my attention
After I pay off my used viggen...... 1 more year! I WILL lease a new 9-5 just to support the company even if it is mostly GM. We as SAAB fans need to show support if SAAB makes it. Best of luck to CJ at Merbanco, the chinese or whoever will help save SAAB!
Hybrids are an example of how rediculous it can get when people mindlessly believe anything electrical is somehow magically good for the environment. It's tragic that people are actually buying these things when they could get a cheaper turbo diesel and pollute less. Both when considering pure driving and the pollution associated with the vehicle's production...
that's a fantastic collection of stupidity you've gathered there.
let's just say that on a windy day Denmark is more than 100% powered by windmills. and that's despite an evil government who have banned new windmills the last 8 years. we could easily get free of coal and oil. there's just a lot of shitheads fighting the progress.
Einstein said human stupidity is infinite. it's because you don't think he would say something that bitter
Ah so now you've been cornered and have no factual arguments left you resort to name calling. How sad. I don't think Einstein would be happy to have his name abused by you. I'll tell you something - I live in Denmark and know for a fact that windmills don't produce more than ~20% of the power used here. Even if your outrageous claim was true, you ignore the obvious - the wind doesn't blow hard all the time and therefore wind energy can never be a reliable main power source, only an auxillary one
that's good, then it should hit home harder when you actually look up that I am right than on a windy day the windmills produce more than 100% of the electric power we consume. the around 20% figure is the average. with a storage system for the surplus energy liek for instance electrolysis and then convert it to a liquid fuel like ethanol we could very quickly and very easily get all our electric power from windmills and not use a single gram of coal.
sigh. on windy days we produce so much power from windmills that it's a problem to get rid of it. often times windmills have to be stopped because there is so much of it that they have to pay money to get rid of it. and that we use our neighbor countries as buffers for that excess energy is not a problem..
we still get the CO2 reduction even though we sell power to germany and buy it back later.
Who cut this video, Jonsson himself? Why the hell is he on the screen ~80% of the time? This is a piece about A CAR, not a freakin talking head, why are you so frugal with the car shots?!
A large part of the video was about Saab's restructuring that they just got out of, not about the car. Then when they talk about the car they give it good video time. Do you dislike having to look at people when they speak?
Correct: it's about Saab, a car maker so it shouldn't be a big challenge to figure out what should be shown while someone is talking (hint: assembly lines at Saab, Saab cars, highways or whatever related except a talking "ID head".)
It's not about my personal taste but as a former TV new journalist/editor would not let air it as it is, it is unprofessional and, most importantly, BORING.
To answer your question: yes, I dislike watching talking heads especially in this long takes, YES.
then maybe your kind is to blame for the death of the 4th estate. not that our friend from saab had anything interesting to say at all. I would ask him one thing, is it electric and then the follow up, have you been asleep for the last 3 years
the 4th estate is dead. journalism is largely mindless and parroting. they don't maintain a critical view on even the greatest of evils, they just accept it with a professional smile.
as for Saab, they should have been talking electric cars 3 years ago and they still don't. that's why they have been asleep. there's a revolution going on and stiff-man here doesn't seem to know. koeniggsegg seems to know though
I wouldn't say it's dead, you just have to know where to go to find it. Media has changed, no question about it but I'm not entirely convinced it is worse now - online presence gave a huge lift to indie or non-dependent reporting and sources, you just need to take all with a big grain of salt if you don't know the site.
I didn't say it was better in the past. but if you have to go look for a watch dog then it's not doing it's function..
and I don't whose leadership saab was under, if I was in charge of saab I would have made it the absolute leader in electrics now and if GM wanted to hold me back I would a rather large public scene out of it. like audio recordings of them trying to hold it down etc.
there is no excuse for the incompetence/evil that is there in all big automakers except MAYBE renissan
Electric cars are not a realistic alternative in the foreseable future. Maybe in 10 years. It's also NOT an environmentally responsible alternative, especially not in Denmark, since practically all the electrical power is from coal powered plants. Research has shown that a pure electrical car actually generates more CO2 per km than a modern turbo diesel...
Also there is the problem of hazardous waste and pollution from battery production...2nd generation bioethanol is a far better alternative..
you are the product of all the disinformation evil men have put out and you mindlessly believe it. even if run from coal EVs are less polluting and of course they shouldn't run from coal. it should be windmills, waterfalls, solar power and nuclear. EVs were viable 10 years ago. go watch the documentary 'Who killed the electric car'. do a little thinking while you're at it
You are the product of conspiracy theory and magical wishful thinking.
Fact is that the majority of power in most of the world is coal based, and will stay that way for 20+ years. That is the reality you live in, whether you want to or not. Denmark will never get nuclear power even though it's the only rational choice. Windpower and solar can't be the main power source. The future is fuel cell, and the most environmentally correct fuel until then is cellulosic 2nd gen. bioethanol.
Not sure about the electric car either: Saab was under GM's horrible and utterly incompetent, clueless leadership so I don't blame them - despite zillions spent we have yet to see the Volt for sale...
Ignore the dane, he's just jealous his tiny non-essential country aren't able to make such a great car AND we all know Saab was first with E85 tech and had a hybrid in the pipelines years ago. Not to mention the KG loan from EiB includes some 30 specified enviromental projects.
Until then, let's enjoy what seems to be a great, non Jante Law Danish sedan, with relatively great mileage, highly efficient engines and awesome tech.

DanFrederiksen: "let's just say that on a windy day Denmark is more than 100% powered by windmills"
Let just say? Yes, this isn't the case, so you better just say so.... :-)
The economics says, correctly, that Danish exoprt 84 percent of its wind energy:
openmarket(DOT)org/2008/04/23/the-windy-denmark-question
Which is to Norway without being payed; at the meantime Denmark import German electricity.
The CO2 reduction is at most 2 percent (but may be an increase).
