can anyone help me because when i turn on my gamecube i plug in my controller and the gamecube suddenly turns off and when i turn it on again it still wont turn on ,but when i take offf the controller the gamecube starts working again---i think its the controller ports because when i put my finger in there it starts to push back

anyway i realize my comment was pretty dumb, dont actually light the pen on fire, just heat it up with a lighter, slowly, gradually, rotating it, until its melty. then jam it on and let it harden. if you light it on fire it will probably just melt away instead of gaining elasticity

Hey man, great vid. I am experiencing this problem where when i turn my game cube on it makes a sound like a disc started spinning and stopped (even when there's no disc inserted, for about 2 secs) and then the power doesn't come on but the case fan spins there's no nintendo center in the country i live in.

in 2003 i bought my first gamecube it was black. it never read the disk. & 2 weeks later it broke. in 2005 i bought a silver one. & i never had a problem with it

It's best to take the Gamecube apart with a game disc on it. It reduces the risk of damaging the lens.

If the problem just started happening, give it 5 days without turning it on. otherwise you need to send it to Nintendo. If you didn't tell them the problem, then you really NEED to.

for the nintendo screwdriver you take the inside out of a pen, light it on fire for about 15 seconds, blow it out, and jam it ontop of the screw and wait

then it becomes a screwdriver

How do you clean the laser devise without ruining it, I highly suspect the laser to be the cause behind my gamecube's inability to read disks.

lol i would get like a apple clam shell laptop and the stick the gamecube guts in there and have a battery pack then just get a game controler take that part cut sum holes in left and right corners place it in have the plug plug into the first player spot then just a cut a hole for the other 3 players slot to stick out! ^_^

With the Nintendo GameCube, when you have a problem where the console says that it could not read the disc during play, that's usually a sign that the pickup has become thermal sensitive. In other words, when it warms up, it conks outs.

Replacement of the optical pickup is the only solution aside from exchanging it for a refurbed unit with Nintendo or buying a new GameCube.

watch the X-PLAY vid where Morgan Webb tries to destroy the 3 current-gen consoles. Gamecube is the only one that survives. Mine's all banged up and still works fine. However, it makes a noise unless I tilt it on it's side (I think it's something to do with the cooling fan, not sure.)

if you have a gamecube for a few years there is a laser that reads the disc and it bends and it will say no disc when there is a disc
