Someone plays this in an episode of Star Trek Voyager, that I just saw. When I heard it, I relived scenes of my own piano-playing (including learning this piece) and I just had to find a recording of it. Thanks for posting. A lot of amateur recordings on Youtube are painful to listen to, but this one is quite pleasant.
Lovely tune - first heard it played it in the movie " Sophie's Choice"- didn't know what it was until today when it got played again in the movie" What Doesn't Kill You"... am favoriting it... thanks for uploading .
If you like that kind of piano music, you would probably love Yiruma. He's amazing. He's a South Korean Composer and I came across him on youtube. He's now my absolute favorite composer. Check out his music it's beautiful. I think you'd really play it well. Some examples are - River Flows in You (my favorite), Love Me, and Do You? His music is repetitive, but absolutely beautiful. :)
@DMPiano I'm a huge fan of Yiruma. I quickly learned River Flows in You and recorded it (it's somewhere on my channel). And I'd love to learn more, since it's not that difficult and very beautiful. Do you have any of the sheet music?
I have this piece for my exam this year too but for one my piano is wildly out of tune so everytthing sounds awful and secondly this is my first real exam and i love piano but the exam is making it a chore and i hate the fact that i have to be forced to do something i used to do with enjoyment!
God damn society and people always needing to prove themselves better than others! i just want to play with beauty and not with a emotionless melonchony way that i seem to be resigned to...........:'(
Thanks for posting this. Milo and Otis is my 3 yr old daughters favourite movie and, being the modern child she is, she wanted me to look the song up on Youtube. lol
I'm not really sure how long it's supposed to be. I played it close to the speed at which it was played in "Milo and Otis," but other people play it a lot faster (in about half the time). I think a slightly slower way is sweeter, but I'm no expert!

i think it needs to be a tiiiiiiiiiiny itsy bitsy bit faster like at most 5-10 more on a metronome, and should vary in speeds as in retards and w\e speed-ups are called (im 14, really wanna learn the song and ya, so dont blame me for not knowing what a speed up in tempo is called)
You played it the perfect speed! everybody else tends to play it much faster than it is meant to be, but you have perfect tempo, and the dynamics are quite exceptional. I learned this peice a few weeks ago, and I need be less tense, but I hope I can play it that good eventually... (im only 13)
You play it very well at a slower speed. I prefer playing it quicker because I thinkit sounds better that way, but you manage to capture the feeling of the piece perfectly at the slower speed that it should be played at. Your piano has the perfect sound for it too!
I love this!! and you!
