How exactly would you define "liberals" anyway? And socialists? could you name any socialist countries off the top of your head without looking it up first? and what exactly in current day context would make them socialist? What would make the US socialist? Democrats in this country have always been more concerned with helping average people rather than major corporations. There's nothing new to that concept. But this is a far cry from any example or accepted definition of "socialist."
does it bother any of you that NOBODY who has worked with or for this man is on the news talking about his accomplishments? voting for this guy would be like letting your children run your home.
The president of iran daily calls for death to americans. you want to TALK to them? That only plays into their hands my naive friend. the only words i'd have to say to him is " here's where you sign the surrender papers."Obama is the LAST person i want representing this country to the rest of the world, he'll sell this country down the river and claim "peace in our time" like chamberlain did caving in to hitler.
OK. But is that who you'd want talking to anyone? Please watch her interviews with katie couric or ANYONE. I have been concerned about Iran for ages but learned after living in DC for 8 years and attending georgetown university, how the spin machine works. The financial incentive behind trying to make the US public believe that Iran is a threat and that Obama couldn't make the right moves, is worth your paranoia. 10 billion a month is what we spend on war. Not a bad salary for a war monger.
Outhebest: the CDA was (a) not passed by Clinton - it passed in 1976, so can't be blamed for current troubles, and (b) only applies to 20% of the entities getting bailed out.
The vast majority of the defaulted loans are regular home loans sold to consumers on the free market, which were then packaged into risk-hiding security instruments (which would have been forbidden prior to the deregulation).
sorry, but deregulation isnt the problem, its your dems and the rules they passed under clinton, making banks and loan companies give loans to the poor, those that could not afford them, it has come home to roost. Life does not guarantee anyone a house of their own, much less a car. The people got greedy, wanted what others had, now here we are. I say, let them lose the homes,go back to renting, make the gov repay them for those forced loans, then eliminate those rules, loans only if you can pay
He is a dynamite speaker. He consistantly digs up great shit on McCain and Palin. I have never seen a more honestly run campaign. He can take something McCain says and whips him with it. It is a lolz. Watch how he does this it is great for arguements. Using what your opponents say against them is the best weapon.
I'm not defineable as a liberal or a conservative. and i can see why people would have their reservations regarding either candidate. however my friend, it's you who sounds like a zombie. Try backing your fear based opinions with some concrete examples and voicing them in that can be understood. but "liberal zombie" "fuckin socialist" these terms are rather vague and speak more of your fears and lack of knowledge than anything else. they're simply not convincing.
I can't wait to see the debates. I think America will finally realize that despite their fears and prejudices, Obama is the right candidate to pull America back to it's former greatness and beyond. Again, Obama's poll numbers are leading and now Palin's numbers are declining. I think after the debates, there will be no doubt who is better capable to represent the American people and this great nation. No more lies, No more Bush, No more Rupublican trash!!!
And what that means is Obama is getting very bad advice from Brzezinski as the latter was National Security Advisor under incompetent Jimmy Carter (the book Obama Nation shows this). Carter and Brzezinski both stupidly recognized Khomeini's deadly, highly illegal, Iranian government as legit as the two US men actually thought Khomeini was going to be another Gandhi (books like The Iranian Time Bomb and Party of Defeat show this!). Obama is going down the very wrong path!!!

Don't worry, once Obama is elected he'll make sure the government takes care of all our problems. Does Obama not realize that government intervention in the free market created this mess? ie: the federal reserve, Fannie and Freddie. More government is not the answer. We are headed directly towards communism.
Silly man. It was DEREGULATION that led to this mess, not excessive Government. Hello? Anyone home? That means the Gov't wasn't being a proper referee and let the players act badly. It was the laissez faire attitude of the Bush Administration, with the full support of McCain that led the market to deregulate and flooded us with all these BS "mortgage backed securities". Obama isn't saying Government will solve your probles, merely that it will not sit idly by or actively abet a rigged system.
Don't know much about monetary policy, huh? It was the Federal Reserve's negative interest rate at the discount window that created the housing bubble, not lack of regulation. Too bad the majority of people in this country don't understand economics well enough to elect a leader that is ready to address our real problem, the Federal Reserve.
I swear, you people blame the government for everything. It can't possibly be that greed was a factor, or that lying was a factor, or that stealing was a factor. Corporations are all honest citizens and "good" while government is always "evil",....unless it's the military,....then yer a Traitor to claim the government has done something "evil".
"jjrglobal: It was Fannie and Freddie running around giving everyone with a heartbeat and a pen a mortgage"
Actually that's not the worse of it, it was when they treated debt like it was cash and then did a money laundering scheme only the "money" was debt. They assigned bad paper a face value and then traded it back and forth like it was gold collecting fees as they did it.
Please. Mortgage backed securities are BS. Bets they knew they wouldn't have to pay off. Now the system is collapsing because ultimately someone got stuck holding the bag. Absolutely we need to address the Federal Reserve, but we need to deal with a system that doesn't punish risk taking, as a free market should. I don't know enough about monetary policy to argue with you on that particulars, but I know enough to see a system rigged against average people.
Hey Moran, despite what Caribou Barbie said fanny and Freddy were NOT a part of the "government".
.......sheeze.......
These people hear "government" and their first reaction is to hate it and they vote for people who hate it too. Then when government fails they feel it's proof that their hate is justified and re-elect the people who share that hate rather then vote for someone who could fix things. They don't WANT government "fixed" they want it beaten up in an alley and it's wallet lifted.
Sure they were. There mortgage securities were backed 100% by the Federal Government and sold as to investors as such, equating them to T-bills. Thats why the gov't was obligated to stand behind their word and make good on the MBS. Learn economics before you talk anymore shit idiot.
That's fine. But trying to bring this to a level of an Economics course isn't addressing the "fundamentals". A system that bails out AIG to the tune of $85 billion but can't deliver food and water to people washed out of their homes by Hurrican Ike. Our priorities are messed up.
I agree. These bailouts for the rich are nothing more than socialism for the rich. Unfortunately Obama will implement even more, taking this country in the wrong direction.
I don't want anyone taxed, except enough to defend this country. Here, not all around the world starting shit, but here in the US. Think how strong we'd be!
Hey knuckleheads! Don't you realize what implications to people's pensions would be if AIG failed? You would be screaming at your 401k devaluation! The bailout of AIG was necessary.
Do you even realize that Phil Gramm is responsible for this? He's the one who has turned over the Glass-Steagl Act that was passed after the Depression to keep it from happening again. Well, guess what? That's EXACTLY what happened! Fortunately, we have recourse to head it off this time. REPS ARE AT FAULT FOR THIS!
Slimdaddy68 you dont know what you are talking about you just hear what you want to hear. One of these days you will wake up from your slumber and see that the world is not as it seems. You dont even know what caused this meltdown. You just want to lay the blame.
Now you can bitch about your dollar! It will be worthless along with your 401K. Your 401K may be worth a million dollars, but a million dollars won't be able to buy anything. Before WW1 Germans could buy shoes for 12reichmarks, after the Treaty of Versailles, shoes cost 12 trillion reichmarks. This is what we will see due to all these bailouts
No Moran. They were Mortgage Securities. As in "backed by MORTGAGES". Got that? The government wasn't even involved.
It is NOW thanks to the bailout with your tax dollars which have just gotten sucked into a void with no return to you.
But don't feel bad, the Investor Class can read your post and rejoice that you will be one of those folks who will fight for their right to rip you off.
McPain will just bring us more economic disaster. Obama is a brilliant guy who understands complex ideas and systems, while the two headed McPain monster is just a revolving door into our economy for the conartists and thieves to continue raping this country. It's just more big lies to say that McPain will set up effective regulation. They have consistently torn down regulations and allowed this to occur. The record is clear. Obama has consistently promoted smart regulation to prevent abuses.
I like how Hillary was on TV telling everyone that she was warning about the Fannie Mae mess for months when in fact both BUSH and McCain had been fighting to regulate the company for YEARS but were blocked by the Democrats. Barney Frank said Bush only wanted to hurt poor people by going after Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Now it looks like all the Democrats that worked there stuffed their pockets with millions and left the Tax payer with the bill and to boot now blame Bush for the mess they made.
Not true. Republicans are for less regulation. That's their party policy. Less regulation = less government involvement. But some Democrats also favor less regulations as well. Depends on how pro-corporation they are. Bush's family was a banking family when Precott Bush was an owner of a bank. That's were his family became wealthy in the first place which helped them to buy into the oil industry.
when obama speaks on any issue you know that at least he understands the problem. that isnt in itself a solution but its a pretty good start.
it seems like republicans just change the topic, misplace blame, or pander when something needs to be done. obamas been letting suckas have it lately. its good to see.
I'm a huge Obama fan. I think he should be careful about not rubbing McCain's nose in this too much. I know he probably deserves it, and we all want to ensure maximum gains here for Obama, but if Obama appears more focused on hurting McCain then that could look bad.
I understand what you're saying. Unforunately, that's not the world we live in. We're in the fourth quarter. We don't have to win Democrats; we have to win independents. Different game. Like it or not, it's a dirty game.
Republicans make it that way. They know what win that last 10%. We either play that UGLY game to WIN, or we hit the locker room, shower off, and let McCain finish off the nation. IF he lives through a first term. -- God...I can't even THINK of it....
let be honest: there´s still some racism in my homestate ohio. many working-class families are suffering BUT still don´t want to vote for Obama based upon the color of his skin. if you want to make these people vote for Obama, you´ll have to them this: Obama has to come around as often as possible with Joe Biden. that´ll reassure many voters here who aren´t color-blind. I hope somebody will read this comment and inform the obama staff. thanks.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
The only racism we look at is white ppl not
voting for Obama because of race. Do you think that 90%+ of black voters (according to Rassmussen) expected to vote for him could be called racism? How about the fact that Obama
himself is a blatant racist? That doesn't count, though. I will be called a racist
Black people have been voting for white people their entire history in this land. It is about time they got to vote for one of their own. Question is, will the white make them dance for it?
obamayomama709: racism is on both sides. some whites are racist and some blacks are racist. BUT fact is: my own father (43 yrs old) is not willing to vote for obama, ´cause "this guy is black". that´s shocking to me, ´cause my father lost his job last month and admits that "the black guy is really focused on middle-class families". that´s the point I was trying to make. nothing more, nothing less.
dicksinmybutt: I won´t go that far and describe my father "a real fucking racist" as you do. I´d rather keep on doing what I did successfully in the case of my mother who used to hate Obama because of his color: remind my mother that this election is not about race BUT rather about the issues and blacka have always voted for white liberal or conservative candidates although they could have stayed at home and refuse to vote.
bdr1976: yes I did respond to someone named "dicksinmybutt", ´cause he couldn´t understand this: all african-american in my hometown (Ohio) are used to voting for presidential candidates without paying any attention to the skin colour. So why can´t these african-americans vote this time for another african-american without being called "racist"? they voted at least twice for Bill Clinton and voted for Kerry in ´04.
It's about time Obama started naming names and hitting hard. It's not playing dirty to land a few punches when you're in a boxing match. America (sadly) will never vote for a professor - but we love a prize fighter.
I'm an AGE Troop 2A6XC for the Air Force and being in the military is hardly anything to brag or gloat about. You sign up and you become the governments whore, big fucking deal McCain.
You're cute, you're spitting out the "five years as a POW line excuses everything" for the campaign. You're the lowest common denominator that the Republicans rely on to win, congrats.

is it just me but as I was watching MSNBC when I was getting ready for work, I was watching McCain and the DOW was going down big. And not I watch thing and when Obama is up there it DOW is going up. Just a funny thing
also love to see him hit McCain about putting out there plan that will really do nothing. Obama knows we need to get back on track, kill loopholes and put more regulation back in place to see that this cant happen anymore. McCain's people look like they want to do more deregulation and you can see how well that worked
This is one idiot of a president! Obama's own campaign just said the same thing! I guess trckle up poverty is better!!! Obama is an idiot!

WalleyTV 3 years ago

Fault Senator McCain DAMMIT! Fault him for being buttbuddies with Phil Gramm. Phil Gramm is 90% responsible for creating this fiasco.
PS - THIS IS THE FIERY OBAMA WE NEED!! KEEP PUNCHING MCCAIN IN THE FACE!!

I'm a huge Obama fan. I think he should be careful about not rubbing McCain's nose in this too much. I know he probably deserves it, and we all want to ensure maximum gains here for Obama, but if Obama appears more focused on hurting McCain then that could look bad.
Somazx 3 years ago 2

I hope somebody will read this comment and inform the obama staff. thanks.
bobhardball 3 years ago 3
This comment has received too many negative votes show
The only racism we look at is white ppl not
voting for Obama because of race. Do you think that 90%+ of black voters (according to Rassmussen) expected to vote for him could be called racism? How about the fact that Obama
himself is a blatant racist? That doesn't count, though. I will be called a racist
simply because I do not like his racist and
anti-American views.
obamayomama709 3 years ago
Black people have been voting for white people their entire history in this land. It is about time they got to vote for one of their own. Question is, will the white make them dance for it?
alkabeer101 3 years ago
Race shouldn't have anything to do with this.
dicksinmybutt 3 years ago 3
Seems you're the only one bringing race into it. He's talking about the economy but all you see is a black man talking. Racist.
artvandelay3911 3 years ago 2
obamayomama709: racism is on both sides. some whites are racist and some blacks are racist.

Your dad seems like a real fucking idiot. Hopefully his generation will die off soon.
dicksinmybutt 3 years ago
dicksinmybutt: I won´t go that far and describe my father "a real fucking racist" as you do. I´d rather keep on doing what I did successfully in the case of my mother who used to hate Obama because of his color: remind my mother that this election is not about race BUT rather about the issues and blacka have always voted for white liberal or conservative candidates although they could have stayed at home and refuse to vote.

Did you just respond seriously to someone named "dicksinmybutt"?
bdr1976 3 years ago
bdr1976: yes I did respond to someone named "dicksinmybutt", ´cause he couldn´t understand this: all african-american in my hometown (Ohio) are used to voting for presidential candidates without paying any attention to the skin colour.

You're gonna be on all the blogs tonight. A Youtube liberal called McCain a former POW of five years a whore. Malkin's gonna love you.

You're cute, you're spitting out the "five years as a POW line excuses everything" for the campaign. You're the lowest common denominator that the Republicans rely on to win, congrats.

Thanks for posting the video. You may want to call it something other than a "press conference" though. Campaign rally.

If you actually watch the two back to back its easy to see that Obama knows this stuff alot better than McCain thus.
ralexand56 3 years ago 9
also love to see him hit McCain about putting out there plan that will really do nothing. Obama knows we need to get back on track, kill loopholes and put more regulation back in place to see that this cant happen anymore. McCain's people look like they want to do more deregulation and you can see how well that worked
