  • I got to hang with Johnny and the band a few years back. He signed my tricone to boot. One of the greatest nights of my life. He's been my hero since 1968 when I first saw him. I must say I've NEVER heard ANYONE do Johnny as close as you do. Excellent job!!!!!

  • @glennhmartin Wow. That's gotta be the greatest compliment on my playing I've ever heard! Thankyou...{ lol, I had to google 'tricone'! } ..a resonater that you definitely have put to good use!

I love all kinds of guitar playng. I have many 'favs'. But Johnny Winter will always be in a category of one for me. Ain't nobody that can do it all like him!

  • Is that with a fender gtec amp? sounds amazing and i need a new rock n roll amp, does it compare well with marshall? i mean for heavy blues stuff :D, and fucking hell, this is insane !!!! you're probably johnny lol, hey how are yah ! :DDD

  • Excellent work, Be nice to hear what you come up jamm'n without the backing tape. You got it now make it into your own.

  • @56page Thank you kindly! But, the idea here was to try & copy Be Careful...... I've not seen anybody do it anywhere. I'll agree that yer suppose to 'make it your own', but I'm afraid in my case there's a serious lack of talent for that job, lol. I was happy just to be able to pull this much off....but if it's improv jamming yer after, I did a bit of that on my 'It's My Own Fault Live" cover

  • awesome man !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome job!!!!

  • Wow, this is fantastic! How the fudge did you work out some of the faster(i.e. the epic intro) parts? I can work out stuff by ear, but not crazy licks like that!

But mate, you rock the house! You should be proud!

  • @anonymouslolxD Thank you for the nice comment! I've been wanting to nail this for decades. I've had a 1/2 assed version for years, but nothing close. It took a while to get it up to nearly Johnny speed for me, and even then I always mess it up a bit,and this here is not perfect.

Get the 'Amazing Slow Downer', from Roni Music. The best guitar tool on the market .Didn't feel like deciphering the middle solo, so I used the Johnny Winter Step by Step book. The slow down software is real good

  • Hi, I will check out these others you mentioned..I am learnin from your version..I also Saw some young kid on Ytube doing Dallas real nice..But Be Carefull was always my fav..I'll be looking 4 more..Also do you all know about VLC player?? It can slow down the Vid

    Have fun!

  • @TICOOCIT2 You can also slow down to 1/1 with Windows Media Player. It's great to learn from each other, glad I was of some help. At the end of this video, there is a photo of a book I used for the middle solo. A very good book indeed. Strange that it didn't have the intro, but oh well. I use the Amazing Slow Downer for grabbing leads I'm interesetd in. It's the best guitar tool I've ever used, highly recommended. Good luck with this.... it's a fun one to play! :)

  • @LordSauceness oops.. 1/2 speed.... sorry!

  • 25 yrs I been hoping someone would do Be Carefull, Its a great Intro..I hope you share all your Johnny riff understanding with us..This is great! Carefull is one of the better blues tunes out there and its a bitch to understand..Your helping alot..Please go through all the JW tunes on Youtube..Its very odd that not many have done it before..Theres tons of Jim,tons of everyone else, but untill U came along, people been leaving JW out..Praise The LORD!! ( I mean you not an imagined god)!

  • @TICOOCIT2 .....There are a couple of very good J.W. copycats on youtube. I can only play a couple of the 'slower' Johnny tunes....lol. This guy, " SuperBmanBluesBand1" plays like Johnny on steroids.. and look for the 'Johnny Winter Experience'. A long time buddy of mine was fooled at first thinking he was watching the real Johnny Winter!

Remember that 'Be Careful', was done way back in '69.... J.W. was light years ahead of the pack. Peace, & thanks for your comments.

  • Praise The lord..You are great to do this!!! Well did!

  • @TICOOCIT2 Thank you!

  • your tone is so close to john dawson winter's, too. sounds tits.

  • @1skullduggery Big 'Thanks'!

  • im seeing johnny in chicago this friday. you think he will sign my guitar?

  • @TheGeneLightShow _ That's great! Johnny will sign anything (from what I've seen on youtube), ...IF... you can get in. I got lucky because I knew the sound people and long story short, we got in ahead of a long line of people waiting outside his trailer. Hope it goes well for you. Johnny's not even close to what he use to be, but damn....they put out a great show. Youtube vids of him just don't capture it. Let me know how it goes! Thanx for dropping by. ^ : ^

  • Salut, what kind of effects, you use !!

    Great jon!

    thanks !!!!

  • @baboxe Thanx. no effects used for this one. Just dicked around with the settings on the Fender G Dec until I got what was sort of close to the original. It's just a matter of selecting the right amp, the gain & the bass, mid & treble controls & the compression. Johnny likes a lot of treble! Plus the type of guitar used. This one is a Washburn White Lightning by Boogie Street Guitars. Very versatile axe with a wide range of tones. I usually use Cool Edit Pro to doctor up my guitar parts.:)

  • would you consider showing us a slowed down lesson on that intro lick?

    it would be greatly appreciated.

  • @EGGNECKFACE -I have thought about it, but didn't think anyone would care..lol. I got it fairly accurate ( I think) using Amazing Slow Downer. It's tricky tho, and tough to capture it the way Johnny did it. Thanks for the uggestion!

Sometimes I get it right, sometimes not. It would be interesting to see someone else do it justice tho. I've always thought this intro solo was one of the best blues intros ever done.

  • Hello!
