Bullshit. The P Papers exposed the lies about the war, that we were winning, etc. Ellsberg worked in the Pentagon during the Johnson administration. He was privy to high level documents. He was in the Pentagon receiving the wires about the Gulf of Tonkin. Read his book 'Secrets. It's a fascinating document written by someone who was present as history was happening. A majority of analysts believed the war unwinnable. If you're a V vet , read it.

ellsberg released classified documents illegally. end of story. nixon said it slowed the process of negotiations because it allowed the north vietnamese to get the upper hand. it doesnt exonerate ehrlichman for breakin into ellsbergs house in order to discredit him. it doesnt exonerate nixon for taking a stance of plugging leaks from that point on either. but lets be careful about making ellsberg a hero. instead, lets vote in leadership better equipped to assess situations properly.
