The fan does have a slight ticking noise, but remember how close the mic is in this video. In the real world it will be in your case and 2-4 feet away from you.
after all your suggestions what power supply do you suggest? Lets say im making a gaming rig with a standard motherboard two videocards 2-5 fans, processor DDR2 ram and a couple of lights.
No kidding. And how about all the LAN SFF Cases? Most of those are fairly hardcore. Drop in a couple of GTX280 or 4870X2 video cards with a highly overclocked CPU and you will need a high wattage PSU.
I wish every review wasn't made with the same formula, for example do we have to hear the 12v rail explanation every time? I'd rather hear more specifics about what makes it better or worse than it's competition, what are it's pros/cons, etc
i think its for people who search for this specific product. They probably dont know that he explains it on other videos because they havent seen them.
nice, cool, modular, and getting a second 8800ultra. It has the cables for 3. It is certified for dual sli (at least for 8800 ultra) but not for 3-way. That doesnt mean it cant, its just not certified.
What material is that table you use for the audio test of the fan? It would be better if you could detach it from it , since the microphone is on it as well. I think I've noticed vibrations coming through the table into the microphone. Making the fan sound louder on the video than it might actually be.
the template. your work is very professional reviews and everything. you need a more professional looking website easier to navigate and attractive to the eye
My web guy was going to update it this year in celebration of the 1000th review, but he's was much to busy. It's planned, but not sure when it will get done. There is a lot of work to a total site transformation.
that thing could power the freaking space shuttle! awesome tech... seem just a bit over the top, i just can't imagine a situation in which i would need 1200 watts
Will this power suply fit in a coolermaster cm advanced ii? thanks

Hi, Rodney!
I'm sorry to tell you this, but before calling this a review, take a look at the power supplies reviews at jonnnyguru . com.
That's how a proper power supply review should look like.
Cheers!

Wow, i love you. I was looking for some one to tell me whats up to date in computer components.

I bet you've just pre-recorded the "you need to know what rails are" part.
Sounds the same on every power supply video:P

Nope, I do it for every video. If you listen carefully you can tell.

the fan makes kind of an annoying clicking noise when it spins and is kind of loud, that could get annoying...

This comment has received too many negative votes show
HTPC and SFF cases would NEVER use something like this rodney, SO STFU AND DONT SAY IT
DeadHand1992 3 years ago
Sorry, what? You're telling me that I'm not allowed to have a high-end computer system in an HTPC case? Fail.

I use white acoustic foam under the mic to prevent this. If you hear a vibration it's in the fan.

Seems like a pretty good power supply but do the lowewr wattage models still have all these features?
Lvaneede 3 years ago
His reviews on PSU's are getting better....I wish he would crack the case open and show us the heat sinks inside.
About the only other thing he can add is an oscilloscope of the power output showing the quality and quantity of the power.
3lricofM3lnibon3 3 years ago
You do so many power supply videos.
psp7677 3 years ago 2
damn it everytime when he make's a video about power supply's you get the crappy rail story STOP THAT !!!

99 amps!!! That's more than the single rail 90 amp PC Power and Cooling 1200W PSU

awsome review.. I think that even a 1000w psu is enough for a hardcore system.
I use an old 250 w psu and I got geforce gts 8800 that requires a 400 + psu but it runs stable so I'm glad.
