@Aflay1 Just practice, learning to wavedash/waveland and doing some pivot+wavedashing with luigi really only takes a few days. Once you do it right you won't even have to think about it to wavedash perfectly.

Plus the fact that wavedashing isn't specific to melee either, there are several other fighting games with a form of it. Lastly, how would one "ban wavedashing?" You would have to say, "you can't air dodge into the ground." Well that's not very helpful now is it?

@rifall but it IS easy to preform, just not that easy to use effectivly without practice. I don't understand why you can't wavedash. All it is, a jump and an airdash into the ground. not that hard, you don't even need to practice much. Wavelanding is much harder though.

The hard part is the difference in timing between characters, executing it consistently, and know which way you want to go, and putting it inbetween other movements. Wavedashing by itself isn't hard, just tricky to handle. But that does not making it an easy thing to do. The difference in character's jumping habbits makes it harder to main more characters, and gives the game more depth. So just saying it's easy is incredibly misinformed.

@rifall Maining alot of characters isn't too much a good thing anyway. Applying wavedashing, and knowing when to use it may take learning, but doing it isn't that complex. As for executing wavedash consistantly, It just becomes a habit, or a second nature.

There is also L-Canceling, crouch canceling, direction influence, combos, reading other's DI, dash dancing, expert recovering, tech landing and tech recovers, edge-hogging, edge-guarding, and so much more. Look up advanced how to play and then come back.

I've seen people get pretty far in tournaments without a single wavedash.
