While it can be removed its rather stupid in my opinion as well as many others to market a car for speed, horsepower, and 0-60 times only to throw on a rev limiter. If you dont agree thats fine but i dont give a shit.. It is a failure, i would hate to buy a performance car just to spend more money on removing a limiter. Safety or not its a joke.
@FreshlyBaked13 Did I say you had to care about it? No. Just simply stated there was a reason to remove it. Its a V6 all the speed and marketing went toward the 5.0L. The V6 runs 0-60 in 5.1 and does everything you would ever need a street car to do within its rev limiter's allowance with great gas mileage. The limiter didn't cost any money to remove. The base V6 starts at a little over $20k. Its actually a great project car considering theres a huge Mustang aftermarket. Not a failure at all...
Every modern production car including the 1.5 million dollar Bugatti Veyron has a rev limiter. It is there to prevent the engine from grenading because of dumb-asses who like to rev too much.
If you mean the speed limiter, most manufacturers who put a speed limiter on their cars do because of a federal requirement that cars much not exceed the max speed the tires are capable of. The V-6 Mustang with the track pack has no speed limiter because of its V-rated tires.

Hes had a place called SLC do a lot of work on it, he knows how to drive his car, but doesn't have the time to build it. Its TTed and pushing 600Hp. @FreshlyBaked13 Not bragging about it, just simply stating why the limiter was removed. It would be awfully stupid to have a 600 horse car with a 113mph speed limiter. I thought you would be able to put 2 and 2 together and figure out that if he wasn't racing it on the street, that the only other place he would be racing it was at the strip or on a track. Obviously I gave you to much credit... Not insecurity either, just thought the fact that you thought it was a failure makes you an idiot...

@twztd28 once again i dont care about your buddies car. My initial comment was directed toward the stock v6 mustang numbers with a rev limiter. While it can be removed its rather stupid in my opinion as well as many others to market a car for speed, horsepower, and 0-60 times only to throw on a rev limiter. If you dont agree thats fine but i dont give a shit.. It is a failure, i would hate to buy a performance car just to spend more money on removing a limiter. Safety or not its a joke.

@FreshlyBaked13 Did I say you had to care about it? No. Just simply stated there was a reason to remove it. Its a V6 all the speed and marketing went toward the 5.0L. The V6 runs 0-60 in 5.1 and does everything you would ever need a street car to do within its rev limiter's allowance with great gas mileage. The limiter didn't cost any money to remove. The base V6 starts at a little over $20k. Its actually a great project car considering theres a huge Mustang aftermarket. Not a failure at all...

Every modern production car including the 1.5 million dollar Bugatti Veyron has a rev limiter. It is there to prevent the engine from grenading because of dumb-asses who like to rev too much.
If you mean the speed limiter, most manufacturers who put a speed limiter on their cars do because of a federal requirement that cars much not exceed the max speed the tires are capable of. The V-6 Mustang with the track pack has no speed limiter because of its V-rated tires.
