  • wow you a soo talented we just started about a month ago and i wished you lived in florida cause you would be great to learn from thank you for video

  • your tutorials are poetry, theyve gotten me through too many rough patches in my poi progression than i care to recall. this video comes second only to your tech blogs. keep spinning, i know i will.

  • good vid bro really enjoyed it very smooth im just a month shy of making my year vid check out my page if you have a sec keep spinning

  • so this might very well be my favorite fire poi vid! What move were you doing from 1:11 to 1:17?!

  • @MasterSplinterP1 split time caps

  • How did you get out of your orbital so easily?!?! Very amazing video.

  • @de4thtool I'll be honest with you....i have no clue.i just turn the poi to the side and its a 50 50 shot...sometimes i get out of them sometimes they tangle.

  • Derek, great job man, very impressive for a one year video! good on ya man. Check out my video of a showcase, having some fun with pendulum poi. at about some where just over a year. Let me know what ya think :) search Oaken Poi its fun with pendulum poi :) cheers.

  • Hey Derek, at 0:38 you weave through your legs. Any chance you have a tutorial on that move. I've seen your tutorial on going through the legs but I didn't see you cover how to bring both poi through from a weave. Any advice or tips you have would be helpful. BTW your postings have been very helpful to me, thanks.

Is there a tutorial for this? It's like my brain just goes blank when I try to figure it out.. If I could just see it from behind. :/

But, this is amazing. I'll be this good...with a lot more practice. :)

  • Nice video! What is the move called at 1:05 and 1:13? :) Thanks!

  • @RaveMischief thats just a variation of an antispin flower done on the wall plane. with both poi and arms going in split time opposites. I have a tutorial on it.

  • @derekjf85 Thanks, I got it now :D

  • I Coudlnt Take My Eyes Off....Totally Amazing, Watched This Vid So Many Times Now..I Hope To Get This Good :) Totally <3 The Spinning @ 1:39

  • I just refound this. Super awesome! I think I even saw a btb air wrap. But it's cool to see where you came from :) A lot of things aren't as clean but I like how I can see some sequences that you still do and some that would look cool if you did. But you could be like me and never seem to get all the most awesome stuff on camera xD

  • wicked man :) iw been doing poi for round 7-8 months now, our control is allmost the same x) altrough you do know a couple of more moves then i :) but practice! :D big up ;)

  • this is brilliant. thank you for posting!

  • bro your on the level of master i dont even know how to comprehend some of the stuff you did hopr im that goon on my two year lol im at 6 months now

  • Very impressive. I just hit my one year not too long ago and it looks like we're similar in skill level as far as poi moves go.

    -Kiwi

  • inspiring video i just saw your vids on HOP, your goooood.

  • This was one of the first poi videos I ever watched, and it has been an inspiration since i started spinning. I just sat down to watch it before I go to film a one year video.

    Its still amazing.

  • @rivesrhllfdr Glad you still enjoy bro. Yup i'ma bout to come up on my 2 year now. to bad the progression level has drop dramaticly. But i guess thats what happens when you got a kid, and start a business.

  • Wow dude, can't believe you learned all of that in one year.

  • videos like this are just as discouraging as they are inspiring lol

  • That was soooo awesome! You rock!

  • Amazing..Inspiring..

  • Thanks! Please check out my newest videos!

  • What kind of FirePoi do You use??? they look like Isis Poi..

  • @Marthy000 They are similar to isis. myt friend made them for me. Search how to make isis design poi and you can see how he made them.

  • Yeah,I saw this video yet..=)) And,are those homemade isis bigger than regular isis??

  • @Marthy000 I really don't know.

  • damn dude you have just inspired me to take my glowstring and poi to a hole new level man thx great vid!!!!

  • i keep watching your vids with this stupid look on my face. wow your good. ha ha

  • can i get the track id for this video?

  • I really have no clue what it is. It just one of the song youtube provides.

  • well i still think you chose very wisely and amazing video in general even now nearly a year later im still comingback to this truly inspirational u helped me through a rough patch in my poi skills thank you!

  • 1:47 absolute best move. Whatever the hell it is. Looks like poi gave you some abs too.

  • @TheZacholiva LOL...I really don't...i guess the lighting of the fire just makes me look that way.

  • very very nice, great flow and great transitions. I'm impressed. What's the song?

  • Sick...just learned a few tricks from this, thanx!

  • for me it's a isolated spin combined with flower in front

  • what's the move at 2:02?

  • Its al wall plane anti spin flower with a linear isolation.

  • heej dude great video and if i may give a tip make the move spoken of 3 petals it looks nicer but thats my opinion. btw watch my vid.

  • Now. I have seen many poi performances, MANY. But, I literally dropped my jaw in amazement. That doesn' happen often.

  • damn, You are good :) i still wonder what is the name of the song.. :/

  • WTF that was awesome! i like that anti spin flower with the isolation in the middle, so sick. I hope im at this level in a year!

  • Thanks. Just practice lots.

  • man i'm glad i found this video to see you in action.

I like your flow, its just so nice.

  • Wowieeeez :O this is amazzzzing

  • This is some quality spinning!

I've been spinning for a month and when I'm looking for motivation to keep doing it I love stumbling across videos like this!

    Never stop :D

  • Nice technique bro :)

  • Wow man it must have taken a lot of time to feel that comfortable with the fire. Intense stuff dude keep up the good work!

  • lovin' the flower combos. Shit's ill!

  • Thanks! I wish you could see a more recent video. But my computer has been jacked up. i'll let you know when i get another one posted!

  • i frikin love you

  • you're just too good man! who does the music?

  • Thanks. And I really dont know who did the music....it just some music youtube provides for all the tubers.

  • beautiful!

  • great video, man!

  • man, this is great stuff!!!!!!

  • I would be honored for you to be my poi teacher. Then I want to meet you at a burn and spin fire with you :)

  • Lets do it!

  • love the spli time variations! well done :)

  • fantastic. mad props man.

  • very nice skills, very good. keep it up :)

  • whats up man! sick video! and to answer your question, probably about a week until some fire videos are up

  • Wow...superb video. Your style reminds me a LOT of Zan's in the Encyclo-Poi-Dia 1 era. Your form is beautiful and your flow is impressive. Keep up the good work! I'd recommend given your style that you look into plane-bending stalls a la G's style. Noel (iduali) recently posted a vid of some of his basic transitions that would be a great place to start.

  • Thanks! That means alot coming from you! I will work on some plane bending stuff. I've played around with it before but not much! Thanks keep up the good work on the vids!

  • 0_0.........sweet shit balls........

  • hahaha

  • exceptional for one year. thats how long i have been spinning too. check my newest vid! :)

  • Very Nice.

  • Incredible. its good to see you just spin. (I've seen your lessons on homeofpoi).

  • Thanks bro! When are you gonna post a just spinning vid! BTW that augmented stuff is sick!

  • Absurd for one year. You're at like my 3 year goal in 1/3 the time. Keep it up.

  • fucking smooth man...

    nice clip 5*

  • sickkkk wraps! and orbital?? fml i wanna do that haha

  • pretty impressed with the moves for a year of spinning. thanks for the cap tutorial :) i need to get a vid up of one of my burns we have some similar style.

  • real nice bro... keep it that way... dont be afraid of getting burn... bravo bro..!!!

  • I always do get burned! LOL i just got used to it!

  • thats ok... your getting good bro... keep it up...! whos ur favorite spinners bro..?

  • I would have to say Ronan, and/or Nevisoul

  • they both spin very good bro... i like thier style... but in the way of spinning i really love zan moores attitude... i hav a lot of favorite spinners like nick woolsey, yuta, alien john, cris rovo, cyrill,.. ive learn a lot from this spinners specially nick bcoz i started from him.... and my most favorite is you bro.... hahahaha.... keep it up bro... BORAKCHOY...!!!

  • Dude...freakin' awesome! Great flow, very clean and kickin' moves! Keep up the good work! I really need to get a new fire vid up...mine are really old.

  • Wait! Acutally i already made a tut on that move. Its a reverse butterfly waist wrap

  • I actually planed on making that tut soon!

  • Really beautiful! And like so many others say very good for just one year.

    Nice music too.

  • Hell yeah man nice burn.

I really liked your anti-spin isolations..ur ubber duber loop was pretty sweet man..what type of chain are you using is it dog-chain or ball-chained?

  • I think i might already have typed this, bur wasnt sure if it went through, but anyways. Thanks! I use a 2mm dog leash style chain. 2mm is about the smallest chain you can get for fire poi. i'll send you a link to a video showing my set up.

  • hey bro i really enjoyed wathing your one year. you really have progressed more than me at this point. i need to learn those things you do after doing the triqueta.

keep up the awesome spinning, looking foreward to your next burn.

  • Wow you are really good, i'm still trying to get the three beat weave behind my back... like the music too.

I appreciate what you said, the video was just a bit of fun... self respect is over-rated.

  • Holy SHIT! That's at one year!!!

I am nowhere near that and I"m nearly a year. I never really have time to practice though.

That hyperloop was epic! Truly an amazing spinner! Why'd you comment on my video that you'd wack yourself if you tried! You're way more skilled at poi than me.

  • Well you dance so freely! I cant move around like you do. Its something i need to work on.

  • this is fucking awesome!

for only one year, this is kind of ridiculous.

i was no where near this at the one year mark.

  • well thanks dude! I always thought i was behind.

  • O yeah...You got any critisim? That always help in my progression.
