I just got the GT 8 today, and the things you can do with it are amazing. I play on a crappy combo amp and I still could not be more pleased. I am a serious (although still learning) guitarist, but i can't stop toying with this thing. Tell me what you think of my Chinese flute effect in the video response
Cool man!!
The GT-8 is awesome, picked up a new one off Ebay for $300.00. It's almost too good, I'm still experimenting with the patches, but from what I've played, the options seem endless.
so...im lookin to get this BOss GT-8. BUT, im also lookin at another unit ( VOX tonelab LE) i play with much less distortion. What is it that you like most about your GT-8. the only thing about the GT-8 that really catches me is the combining of 2 AMPS!!! ow does that 2 Amps feature work out for you?
i dont have 2 amps xD so i cant use that feature from the gt-8 if i whould have another cabinet ( left and right ) then i can play in stereo.. but i dont use that cause i dont have it.
im not realy sure what to reccoment becuase i havnt played a tonelab before, but i know that they are same price as the gt-8 and are valve, while the gt-8 is electronic.
i have a gt-8 myself and think it is awesome but i just dont know about the tonelab. i guess the best thing to do would be to try them both, (best to do this with same guitar and amp as you use) and make up your mind from there.
I also plug my gt-8 into my comp. What you gotta do, i usually have headphones or an amp as well as one lead coming from the MONO output into the computer. Just use a regular guitar lead, but have a 1/4inch jack -> headphone jack (the small one) converter, and that justplugs into the microphone input on your computer.
you soundedlike a frog dude.btw i do have a g 8 and i think and according to my first hand experience with it.its not too digital.could come up with almost analog sounding stuff if you tweak a lil bit and know your g 8 a little more.rock on.
Mr Crowley is f*ckin' awesome! :O

Don't diss your playing. It's necessary to be at that point if you ever want to move past it.

How did you create the Carvin Legacy patch?? It's not built-in in the GT8 as an pre-amp module or something...

how do you plug your gt8 into the pc? what sort of input/cable do you use
shredder370 3 years ago
Using MIDI cables, you also need a midi sound card on the PC and some software. I'm sure you can found on internet (gt8-editor or GT-8 Fx FloorBoard)

haha, I love your comment at the begining, 5stars because of that!

but you can use it and get the left and right sound with speakers on your pc and headphones and such..
same in the studio, even if you plug straight to a PA system, if you plug it strero out than it works.

yeah ok but now i use a big london city half stack XD much better then pc speakers... more power!

haha i feel like i have found a twin.
i use the exact same guitar, the RG350DX, and a BOSS gt-8 too \m/ \m/
rock on!
and i was just diggin that carvin legacy, i guess you must be a fellow fan of steve vai.
i got to meet him last year, hes an awesome guy.
ziggystardust66 4 years ago
yeah i'm a vai fan 2 XD.
i have only seen him on stage :P didn't spoke with him.
i think he is a cool guy :P.
08376 4 years ago
i don't really know how to explain that :P.
you have to use a normal cable for the with on 1 side a guitar plug and the other side a smaller one.. ( that you whould use for small earphones.
and that smaller plug has to go into the computer... don't know where excactly...
08376 4 years ago
don't worry man, eventually you'll get better ;) \m/
