Now I see where the WWF/WWE got their start. I mean this is the perfect shit talking that goes on when you watch smackdown or raw. It turns out they were working together. Brilliant!
I would like to propose the theory that Kaufman wrote the beginning of Lawler's speech. It's really funny that he really did want to be a pro wrestler, and that speech may well contain the motivation behind their entire stunt.
If it's a joke and it seems like it is, what's the punchline? Is it funny? Are Kaufman fans laughing? It IS strange. When he's wrestling the women, it's startling how riled up everyone gets.
@BeirutWedding Oh, most definitely. he was funny at times, but he was a true-to-life thespian. I didn't mean to convey any negativity towards him. He never considered himself a comedian, and neither should anyone else.
Hmmm......nonsense my friend....well meaning nonsense, but nonsense.
I'm very much a Kaufman fan, and I appreciate the art of all he did...part of that is laughter. How can anyone watch kaufman and Zmuda on the Kids show "Bananaz" for example, and not laugh?!
How can you watch his wrestling promo against the 300lb woman and not laugh????

I always tried my best to watch the "I'm From Hollywood" when Comedy Central aired it about 11 or 12 years ago. Great to see the extended clips online!
Man all of this stuff was great. The first time I ever heard about all of this was watching some kind of documentary on it, and ever since then, I've been a huge fan of Andy Kaufman, and I love reliving this stuff.

its a summons not a deposition he would get. His lawyer would have the deposition from Kaufman. Kayfaybe at its best.

@BeirutWedding Kaufman fans don't laugh, and Kaufman wasn't a comedian. He was the greatest actor the world will ever notice.

yep, bob zmuda...he played tony clifton as well

I thought Andy was Tony Clifton?
Srd1126 2 years ago
His agent was George Shapiro. Bob was his best-friend and co-writer.
Andy, Bob, and Andy's brother would all play Tony Clifton.

Bob Zmuda was Tony Clifton not Andy Kaufman...watch Man on the Moon
